WOMT: Professional Wishful Thinkers
I like the way "excusegist" rolls off the tongue. But "Professional Wishful Thinkers" might be more appropriate. That's an ability I've never had... or at least would never allow myself to have for very long (outside of a romantic relationship 🤪).
One powerful religious experience I had when I was 18 probably kept me Mormon for a bit longer than I would have been otherwise. For those looking for a religious experience, thinking that would do it for them, I beg to differ. Unless you're also a wishful thinker and someone indifferent to the truth.

Even if it could be proven that a god exists, no telling what god it would be, and I would not worship such an asshat deity - especially the one in the bibul!

TBI does funny things. Religion does funny things. Thank Hitch that correlation doesn't equate to causation.
Brain chemistry is a bit tricky. Feelings of euphoria can happen as a result of lack of oxygen. People hallucinate while having a high fever. One would hope that in the 21st century people would realize that a brain malfunction is not evidence of Jesus having tea with you in your head. [sigh]
