My Life Across The Multiverse With Mangekyo Sharingan 9

Cracks spread across the basin. The surviving operatives stumbled backward as an enormous skeletal hand punched through the ground. Then another.

The enormous skull of a beast emerged from beneath the earth. Even reduced to nothing but bones, its sheer size was unmistakable.

Death Tagool.

A Super-Class Danger Beast. Its enormous skeletal frame slowly pulled itself from the earth, each movement sending chunks of soil and stone rolling down its body.

"...That's one hell of a collection." I muttered.

With a light, acrobatic leap, Kurome rode the rising corpse, landing right on top of Death Tagool's towering bone shoulder. She looked down at us from her high perch like a queen sitting upon her throne.

"See?" Kurome cooed softly. "It's twelve against three now. You don't have to worry about being lonely either... because once you die, you'll join my family forever."

The third member of our team in question, cracked one eye open. The Storm Monsuno slowly raised his massive head, his nostrils flaring slightly as he scanned the towering skeletal Danger Beast from skull to tail for a few seconds .... And let out huff. Then, without a single care in the world, Lash closed his eye, rested his massive jaw back onto his forepaws, and went right back to ignoring the universe.

I on the other hand, couldn't care less about what the bratty creature was doing. Watching the massive danger beast skeleton raise its hands and swing downwards, the three Tomoe in my eyes rapidly swirled before recondensing.

BANG!

A cloud of dust erupted as rubble flew in all directions as the claw smashed into the earth I stood on.

'How fast is this guy?' On the shoulders, Kurome intently surveyed the area with a dark face but failed to find my location. She didn't believe for one second I had been easily crushed by such a simple attack. She was right, just ... Not for reasons she thought.

Just then, a slight glow erupted from the dust.

The dust faded, revealing my figure still standing in place across the cracked earth beneath my feet.

However ... A pitch black skeletal ribcage surrounded by body, withstanding the danger beast claws without a single scratch. 'Amenonuhoko (天沼矛),'

Kurome was stunned. 'Did he just ..'

I paid her no heed, squatting down and placing my hands on the earth. A single blood tear dropped from the corner of my eye.

'Dismantle.'

CLACK.

The moment my skin made contact with the soil, a web-like grid of energy expanded outward in a fraction of a second. The molecular structure of the entire basin—the stone, the mud, the buried minerals, and the charred remnants of the forest deconstructed into raw matter before instantly reconstructing according to my whim.

FZZZZT—SHING! A forest of jagged, twenty-foot stone pikes erupted from the ground with blinding speed.

It was so sudden that no one else could react.

Natala, Rokougou, Wall, Henter, the Apeman, the Tribal Chieftain, and the three surviving Dark Squad operatives were impaled simultaneously. The attack didn't stop there.

Huge, razor-sharp obsidian pillars tore straight through their torsos and ribcages, anchoring all eleven targets into the air before a single one of them could even register the shift in terrain. The undead puppets were instantly ripped apart.

Death Tagool on the other hand, had his legs trapped in moving obstacles. Above the sudden graveyard of stone, Kurome’s eyes widened in shock.

"What—?!"

She had barely uttered anything when a chill ran up her spine. She hurriedly turned her gaze, only to see my shadow clone that had been standing idly the entire time, up the spine of her corpse puppet and appearing in the air directly above Kurome's head before her perception could catch up.

THUD!

A hand chop slammed into the back of her neck. Kurome's eyes widened before her body went limp.

In the exact same motion, the clone pivoted mid-air, cocked his leg back, and delivered a devastating, chakra-reinforced spin kick straight to her her.

BOOM!

Kurome's small body shot off the monster's shoulder like a projectile. Simultaneously, her grip on Yatsufusa was lost, sending the weapon flying out of her grip.

Without the dark blade maintaining the connection, the towering skeletal frame of Death Tagool instantly lost its cohesion, dissolving into a massive cloud of gray ash and bone dust.

Kurome's small body shot out of the sky like a cannonball, blasting straight down through the dust cloud and crashing into the center of the clearing.

CRASH!

The impact shook the basin, sending dust and debris flying in all directions. Silence returned to the forest. The dark lightning, the necromantic chill, and the army of twelve had vanished in under three seconds.

My clone landed lightly on the edge of the newly formed crater, brushing a stray fleck of dust off his shoulder as Yatsufusa tumbled through the air, landing point-first in the dirt right beside my boots.

'Well that takes care of that.' Dispelling my Susanoo ribcage, I looked at the surroundings . I tilted my head, snapping my neck to the side with a series of satisfying cracking noises.

"Well," I said, looking over the instant ruin of what was supposed to be an elite imperial ambush. "That was easier than I expected."

Then strolled over to the edge of the crater, looking down at Kurome. She was embedded deep into the shattered bedrock, completely unconscious. Her nose was broken and a massive bruise already forming across her pale face could be seen.

I looked up at my clone, raising an eyebrow. "Did you really have to hit her that hard in the face?"

The clone looked at me strangely, tilting his head with a perplexed expression. "Since when did you start caring about the fairer sex? Especially one this messed up?"

"..."

I looked back at Kurome.

He had a point.

"...Fair enough." After my last encounter with Harley, I'd decided I'd had enough crazy to last me a lifetime.

With that, after a long game, I, the winner, finally received my prize.

I reached down and wrapped my fingers around the hilt of Yatsufusa. The moment I lifted it from the earth, a strange sensation traveled up my arm.

"...Oh?"

I closed my eyes for a moment and allowed the sensation to spread through me. Information flooded into my mind. The construction of the blade. The nature of the Imperial Arm.

Its ability. Its limitations. Its connection to the corpses it had consumed. And most importantly...

The number of bodies it could command. Nine slots. Two of them were currently occupied.

'So that's how this thing works.' I gave the sword a swing. Fwoosh. The blade cut through the air with surprising ease.

"...Not bad." There was something oddly satisfying about the weapon. It wasn't particularly noticeable but there was a strange presence lingering within it. My satisfaction ratings practically went through the roof. After all, for a worldhopping Transmigrator with a liking for souvenirs, what better collectible could there be than a souvenir whose purpose was to give me more collectibles?

I channeled my chakra into it. It was really well received.

Finally after several seconds of waiting and seeing no rejection, my raised eyebrows relaxed as I smiled.

'Seems I'm compatible.' That made two Imperial Arms I could use. Three if I decided to count the one I'd eventually build for myself.

I glanced down at the unconscious girl lying several meters away. "...Speaking of which." I walked over to Kurome and crouched beside her. Her face was still planted firmly in the crater I'd introduced it to.

"Sorry about this." I reached down toward her waist, detaching the scabbard attached to her belt.

My clone raised an eyebrow. "You're not going to turn her into a corpse puppet?"

I glanced over my shoulder. "Meh. I'll pass."

The clone tilted his head. I couldn't exactly blame him for asking. After all, turning Kurome into a puppet would technically give me another powerful asset. She was an Imperial Arms user herself, had years of combat experience, and knew how to use Yatsufusa better than almost anyone.

But... For one, I had a soft spot for movie characters. While Kurome wasn't one of my favourites or anyone I particularly liked, her backstory was tragic enough and she abandoned her evil ways at the end of the manga.

Drugged from childhood. Raised under horrific conditions. Used as a disposable weapon by the Empire. Then gradually broken down until her entire concept of companionship became synonymous with turning dead people into puppets so she'd never have to be alone again.

She was extremely messed up, and Wave would probably have his work cut out for him but there was still a person underneath all of that. And unlike some of the people I'd dealt with during my travels, Kurome eventually abandoned the Empire and tried to walk away from that life in the manga.

She was also Akame's sister. That alone earned her a few points. More importantly, she was too weak to elicit any interest in the possibility.

The shadow clone shrugged and tossed me Lash's core before dissipating into a cloud of smoke. After everything that happened from last night till now, it was severely low on chakra and wouldn't last much more.

I stood back to my feet, sheathing Yatufusa and examining the surroundings before forming a hand seal.

PUFF! Three more clones appeared in a cloud of smoke.

'The chakra should be just about enough.'

I gave a nod to my clones.

One reached down, picking up the unconscious girl and returning my gesture before disappearing. The rest followed, scattering to keep watching.

'Sigh!'

I turned my gaze away from the ruins before me and looked at Lash who was sleeping without a care in the world. Or rather, at the cave right on the hill he lay on.

'Now then. Let's get this over with.'
