Korra defender. I’m over the insane amount of hate she gets.
I would put money on the story revealing that Korra actually sacrificed herself in order to save the world, or at least its people, from a much worse fate, and the story got distorted over time until everyone hates Korra. I'm guessing the show will reveal it so everyone finds out the truth and she's vindicated. If it's not, and it's just pandering to the Korra-hating neckbeards, then i'm out. Korra forever! ❤️🔥 I am wondering if there's a big time-jump somehow though? It seems like it's been hundreds or even thousands of years. We know that some things can cause the avatar cycle to slow down, like Kyoshi living for fucking ever, or Aang getting frozen in the iceberg. I wonder if Korra has been like stuck in the spirit world fighting demons until recently or something? But like Meesh mentioned, it seems like there's no nations any more, just a mixture of all types of benders. I have to assume that the "7 Havens" are the last 7 safe human settlements on the planet, because it looks like the rest of the world is chaos. I'm looking forward to finding out what's going on!
Yeah, I think there's going to be a substantial time jump. My guess is that the way Korra stops or mitigates a world ending disaster takes such a toll on the avatar that it pauses the cycle for decades or centuries. Enough for the idea of the avatar to pass into legend. I hope, at least. I think it'd be a mistake to portray it as actual malice or something on her part. There is a good precedent in the Lore for the Avatar to be blamed for things that happened during their era. I have to imagine it'll be more of that. My guess is that we'll get the false reveal of how Korra messed up and through the course of the series the new avatar will be able to get more bits of information from her avatar spirit.
