I’m so confused. They deserved better lol.

Honestly, I was confused and a bit hesitant about the pilot teaser. The concerns are valid cause I can see how there are negative depictions of trans representation in here and could potentially reinforce their stereotypes if told wrongly and/or not handle with care. It has been confirmed that she didn’t transition out of revenge from one of the writer so that alleviate my biggest concern of it. I’ve seen so many people from the trans community all have different reactions to it from disappointment to excitement. From what I gather, there is hype in wanting trans representation in general and i agree with that sentiment. I will go into it with an open mind because it did pipe my interest but it is definitely something that needs some rewriting and to be handle with care. ik if it anyone could do it, it is NamtanFilm, which worries me a bit because they will be the face of the burdens of the show instead of the writers and director who produced it in the first place. I really hope it goes well and they’ll take their time with it!

As someone who is trans I don’t really find anything wrong with the trailer or story line. People are entitled to their opinions, but it didn’t demonize trans people, nor did it make it out that trans people are perverse. This is simply a story, from what it looks like about revenge. But I can see why people are upset because it seems like namtans character transitioned for the wrong reasons. Watching these shows I think it’s important to remind ourselves that this is purely fiction. This is not how people behave or should behave in real life. All in all I’m really excited to watch this.

It is my opinion that NAMTAM's character has "transformed" not transitioning purely for revenge on the bride and stepfather. The way "she" leans in the doorway when I guess the mother/wife of stepfather finds him in bed. That lean is showing "take that" hence revenge. However when Film comes into the picture, all bets are off. Thank others for the info on dialators. I knew what it was meant to be doing but could not think of word. I hope they make it for real. I believe stories should be made of ALL versions of what happens with any gender or sexuality. We need to learn and understand how to exist with each other.

I really like that NamtanFilm are opting for such challenging project and more drama. I think I will enjoy the drama here and let myself be shocked by the plot. I am watching not because its a GL but because of the plots since new GL series have very weak storylines

NamtanFilm are excellent at their craft & I trust they aren't doing anything with carelessness or negative intention, and they're not in charge of story adaptation choices, but the people that are put them in a bad position from the start with this trailer. Without significant script changes (I understand gmmtv is working on it) it's going to be a skip for me.

I'm honestly really curious. I'm non binary transmasc and I enjoy any type of queer media. I don't think Namtan playing a transwomen is a bad thing. I also wouldnt be mad or sad about a cis guy or girl playing a transguy. It's all about bringing a character and a story to justice and I do think Namtan can pull that off.

I'm gonna give it a shot. Looks really interesting and I love NamtanFilm. But if I'm looking at it with just the info from the trailer and nothing else, Namtan's character sees to have been a man who got injured and transitioned to disguise himself and is thus still a man, which I'm hoping is not the actual plot. I have heard some theory that Namtan's character was already having gender feeling before they got attacked so the necessary transition wasn't purely disguise but also genuine. Or another theory I heard was that when Namtan's character got attacked the trauma split their personality and now they have one male and one female personality, which would make it more GL imo. Still possibly controversial with some bc mental health stigma but yeah. These are just theories I saw I don't think they're based on any spoilers fyi. I know I'm still gonna watch! I'm excited

Fun fact: the "wife" is Aye. She was in the same girl group as Ciize, Jan (from JanJingJing), and Janeyeh. She's also in Hide & Sis with Jan and JingJing, where they play sisters. It's a really good suspense series with a great plot. If you ever have some time, I definitely recommend watching it!

I read a lot of comments & watched reactors that expresses their lack of support with this & I get their point but I'm still sat for this because the story is interesting & I know that NamtamFilm wont disappoint.

This is a very challenging trailer, but I agree with Meesh that it looks like an interesting story. I don't think it's really a trans person story from a psychological standpoint, so I get the furor over it, but after this rewatch I could see it as simply a tale of the lengths that revenge will drive a person to go to.

I’m just here to support NamtamFilm…. But I will say that when I saw that Namtam was trans it threw me off….. btw, it’s giving Clairebell vibes, am I the only one seeing it?

i dont know if the transition was her/his choice for revenge or maybe to save his life maybe not even his choice but either way i like it. i want to see what will happen and i think that this may lead to a way of he/she admitting that they would have want to switch gender from way back but didnt have the courage.

To me I understood it as because of the attack they HAD to do that operation and that in turn leads to transitioning and the need for dilators. I think with just a teaser, that highlights the dramatic parts, we don’t know the full story and should wait for further details.

namtan has spoken multiple times about how the production team & cast are aware of the sensitivity of a transgender-focused plot and they've spoken to different transgender thai groups regarding how best to portray this storyline. namtan has also said that the script is being reworked (to what extent she didn't say), but there is a chance that they scratch the transgender plot completely to avoid any potentially inaccurate portrayals. if i were to trust anyone to handle a series of this level, it's namtanfilm so i have hope it'll turn out amazing!

I'll be honest, i'm really hesitant about this show. I do think that any actor should be able to play any character, but in a country where there are SO MANY trans entertainers, and so few of them actually getting roles and recognition, there is really no need for NTF to be telling this story. There is actually an upcoming GL that actually stars a trans actress as one of the leading roles, but the reality is that Namtan will probably get a huge amount of praise, recognition and success from this character, as an already successful actress and part of GMM tv, and the actual trans performer will be overlooked once again. I do want to support media about and including trans people, but idk if this is the right way to do it. I have to say though, and this is not in relation to the content of the show, but is it just me or was this trailer kinda.... bad? Not NTF themselves, but as an intro to the story. Like i legitimately would have no idea what was going on beyond the most basic info if i hadn't already seen the teaser. The glass dildoes were dialators btw. After gender-affirming surgery, the vaginal opening is very small and the tissue is not very elastic. You have to use a series of dialators that increase in size over a period of months, in order to stretch the tissue to an average-sized vaginal opening.

there's sthis movie called ... and it's about a druglord transition into a woman because she has always wanted to do that. she was also trying to escape authorities so that was convenient for her but the original story was supposed to be the druglord transitioned only because he was trying to escape authorities. this is kinda like that, there's no indication that the main character has always wanted to transition because they know they've alwsys been a woman, they're just showing the motive being revenge which gives everyone a very clear stance. i was just very disappointed in gmmtv as one of the biggest producer of bls and gls, AND having trans women in their company

honestly a lot of queer and trans people have spoken out against this cause the whole premise is just oddd for obvious reasons. i at first thought it was reincarnation cause they showed his funeral, but obviously we quickly realise it's not. a show showing someone transitioning for revenge just paints trans people in a more negative light than bigots and weirdos already see them especially at a time like now when their rights are being revoked for no reason. i just personally hope they don't go through with this or heavily change the direction of the story otherwise it will be very very harmful to trans people. it also doesn't help that they keep flashing between namtan's character and junior (playing the the guy). also naming it her, with the graphics changing from he to her phew.

I saw this trailer months ago, so I kinda forgot how intense it was. Jeez. I remember there being controversary around the idea. I think it is definetly an interesting series for one of the most popular GL couples to do. Seems there was and could be additional backlash because of the subject matter. I mean in America I remember there was backlash in the early 2000s during The L Word times because many of the women on the show weren't gay (or weren't out) and they are potraying gay women and people were upset that they didn't just hire gay actresses. But this kind of take always seems weak to me because they are actors. By saying that you are saying that an actor can only play a character if they match that particular character in real life? Well then how come actors can play Zombies and gangsters or vampires? Actors are just actors and I guess because the trans-community does not have a ton of major A-List actors it would be cool if an actual trans person would do it, but in my opinion, you hire the best person to play the role. I know they have reworked the script a bunch thus the delays. I just hope that it doesn't blow-back onto Namtan Film because again, they are just the actors hired by their company.

I’m keeping an open mind. So much could change or be ironed out between when they released this and when the show finally airs.

They have done a rewrite on the storyline, which I mean pilots exist for a reason and that reason is to get people’s thoughts and it seems that have taken feedback into consideration and done a rewrite. I think like some have said already it’s the premise of the transition that people didn’t and also the fact that gmmtv didn’t cast someone who is trans. The good news is that they are still going ahead with it, and workshops start after namtan and film’s fancon which is Nov 14 meaning that it could very well be a Jan 2027 release. I love that yall reacted to it fr fr though. I’m excited for her cause we know the girls KILL their jobs as actresses

Why I can’t watch😭?

Based on the pilot, this isn't a GL. That's a man in a woman's body falling for another woman. I can't call Namtan's character truly trans bc it was heavily implied the sex change was based on his mutilated genitals and revenge. That's not the love story I'm signing up for. I want actual women (yes, trans women included) falling in love with women. They need to put this show through a complete overhaul bc as it stands, I've cancelled it 😆

I might be able to help. The "dildo" looking object is a actually a dialator for trans women; typically it's a medical-grade, tube-shaped tool used after a vaginoplasty to maintain vaginal depth, width, and tissue elasticity. My daughter is trans, and my reaction is that the production doesn't quite grasp that they are utilizing a "symbol" (whether this the character identifies as a trans woman or not) from a deeply marginalized, vulnerable, and currently highly targeted community. So, I guess, for me, the timing seems not so great from a U.S. perspective. This reminds me of how they treated lesbians in the 90s--ie, like fodder to entertain the masses. That said, I personally don't feel angry so much as it strikes me as a little naive and sad; a bit of a priveleged mindset, perhaps? However, I did hear someone from the production say that it's not what it looks like, that there's more to it, so I'm holding out hope that she transitioned because it's really true to who she authentically was meant to be. Or maybe it will be some supernatural thing, etc. I do think sensationalizing of a medical dialator was in poor taste but, like you, I do love these actors so I'm hoping for the best. And it won't stop me from watching. I want to see what they do with it. If I don't like it, I don't have to finish it. I prefer to look for the best in folks, and I believe people are mostly good hearted. Sometimes they misstep, but we're only human after all 🩷

The thing is the author of the novel that this series is being adapted from said that the reason why Namtam's character transitions isn't for revenge. It just as the story goes along, the tale becomes more of a revenge play. I don't know how they will play it in the series though. Also, if I'm not mistaken, those glass penises are called dilators. They are used after vaginoplasty in order to keep the canal at an adequate depth and width. They prevent stenosis.

I thought one of the people from the production team for this series had to clarify that Namtan's character didnt transition solely for revenge but was already planning to before the marriage thing to Film's character happened. But i will say the way this pilot was edited doesnt really make that clear. I could be wrong about the clarification situation but i just know there was so much backlash about how GMMTV should have used a trans actress for this series if the character is supposed to be trans

I agree with M&D there is a lot of controversy over this series. . It’s certainly an interesting plot twist from the get go. I’m curious to know if Film’s character finds out about this body shift and accepts it out of love. There was a good question raised in another comment if this series really is a gl. It is in murky waters to say it is gl just because 2 women play the roles. I will say I’m intrigued how the director, writers, cast will create a watch worthy series or will Namtam/Film carry the burden of its success or failure.

I also was very confused when I saw this teaser. I had to read several explainations of the plot before I understood. I definetly understand why people were upset about the idea of using transitioning as a revenge tool. There are so many misconceptions out there already about the trans community, that using it for nefarious means might only foster negative opinions for a community that alrady has so little media representaiton. I am still very wary about this, the trans community already is dealing with a lot of backlash in the political climbate of today (at least in western culture) I don't like seeing them represented negatively. Hopefully this is not the case and the character had always wanted to transition and maybe never had the means to do so. My one other personal qualm with it is that as much as I love Namtam and I think she is an amazing actress. I think it would have been a positive thing to cast an actual trans woman for the role. For me GMMTV's writing is 50/50 on good writing. I believe Snap 25 is the production company and they have a good track record (Pluto and Enemies with Benefits) so that is a positive. And I have zero doubt that Namtam & Film can crush these roles. But I do think they need to handle the story with care.

I will not lie- when this teaser came out I was BEYOND confused. Mostly because I did not truly understand the whole plot of it, at first I thought it was a resurrection thing because of the way they edited it. Only when they got to the glass dildo part did I truly realize OHHH- but I can see why many arent fond of it. The entire series as a whole has been receiving backlash for the plot and the idea that the writers are using the identity of a trans person as a revenge plot. I love NamtanFilm and while we don't know them personally- I wonder if they had doubts about the project too. It feels like a show that I have to wait and see before judging as a whole. A part of me feels like gmmtv will scrap a few of their earlier ideas because of the backlash and maybe even rewrite a few parts but I am curious how they will handle this topic, especially with how the media is today.

I think what bothered me personally from watching the trailer is the fact that he might not identify as a female and wouldn’t portray how transgender woman journey plus it wouldn’t be a gl if he still thinks of himself as a “he”/ film’s character knowing this and still loving “him” I mean I don’t mind it love is love but deep down it wouldn’t be a gl

Wow. I am shocked you guys made it to this trailer. From what I’ve seen, it’s controversial because Namtam is transitioning just for the wrong reason. She’s not a like a true “trans” person who got gender affirming surgery, it happened because of an attack. So it kind of paints transitioning in a very negative “oh people just do it because they feel like” type thing. I can’t really fully speak on it but that’s what I’ve sort of read. The glass devices are dilators though to help after that surgery. Which makes it more clear it’s not a supernaturally body swap and a genuine physical surgical transition. All that being said, I mean NTF are some of the best actors in the Thai gl space, and so anything they do I know they’re going to crush it. Namtam has kind of hinted they’re sort of reworking the script, so we just have to wait till likely 2027 to get a new trailer to see…

The glass "dildos" are used commonly in pelvic flor therapy practices if i'm not wrong, im not expert on it by any means but i believe they're used in exercises to help maintain shape and such
