What's new?
Automatic Elder / Younger Twin statuses and related gameplay
New satisfaction system of being twins with a visible relationship track, affecting the whole twin gameplay experience
More special moments: invent secret language, make up personal handshake, unique moodlets when taking shared photos
More personal interactions: comfort, tease or insult twin with phrases based on twins' personalities
Age specific interactions: share toy for toddlers, support bear phase for children, play mind reading (and actually learn something!) for children and teens
Trying on twin's outfits and comment them 💅

Moodlets for working together on school projects only apply to twins
Old moodlets have been remade with more appropriate icons and text
Some errors caused by secrets while sharing innermost thoughts have been fixed
Cheats are only visible if the target sim is the active one, to prevent misunderstandings
Now, let's get into the details.
More Twin Related Information
Now, all twins receive 'Elder Twin' or 'Younger Twin' status relative to each other at birth! For twins who are already born, the status is applied based on their age progress.
But that's not all! The feature that I worked so hard on is a special relationship track! It shows how satisfied your sim is with having this or that twin.
It's different from friendship. The idea is that you can certainly be friends with your sibling, but you didn't want to be exactly twins. It's often a complicated experience, as twins are constantly compared to each other, percieved as one person, and so on. Or maybe you like the idea of being twins with a sibling, but you don't get along very well. That happens too.
Naturally, things are easier for twins whose relationship tracks are both positive or negative – there are no difficult feelings.
Satisfaction is affected by personality compatibility, which is recalculated when ageing up to Young Adults and after Self Discovery events. Social interactions affect it too, but the unique twins interactions have more weight and a greater variety of outcomes.
Attention! On the first run, the satisfaction status of existing twins may differ from the relationship track score. For example, it may appear as a positive value, but the status is 'Dislikes Having a Twin'. This is just an in-game issue, but don't worry. You can go into CAS and back out again, or switch households – this will update the UI for the relationship. After that, there will be no more UI inconsistencies.
Anyway, you can manually change any status you want. With testingcheats enabled, shift + click on the active sim and select the cheat from the Twins Pie Menu Category.
Elder or Younger?
This status unlocks more gameplay! Toddlers, children and teenagers can argue with each other about who the older twin is. But this feature is only available if they don't already know!
Sims can ask their parents who was born first. Oh, and trust me – they won't be happy to find out if their twin is the elder one!
Satisfaction Matters
Many interactions and outcomes in this mod now depend on the satisfaction score. For example, twins can only share their innermost thoughts if they have a high score, while insulting a twin is only possible if they're angry or their score is low.
Also, starting from infants, sims now automatically react to their twin's mood in certain situations, such as when they are crying or having a emotional meltdown. However, depending on their satisfaction, they may feel sadness or anger.
Appreciate Shared Photos
Twins who take a shared photo will receive the unique moodlet ;)
Share Toys
Clicking on a toy allows a sim to share it with their twin for playing with! They both have fun, develop their creativity and receive unique moodlets.
More Personal
Children and teens can play mind-reading games and learn something new about each other!
They can also comfort a twin in certain situations, tease them or insult them – and it's possible to see what exactly they said. As always in my mods, it considers personalities, skills, preferences and so on ;)
Support Bear Phase
During the phase, twins can support each other and change into bear costumes together ;)
More Secret Interactions
Besides sharing inntermost thoughts, sims can make up their secret handshake and use it after (requires 'Get Together').
If they're creative enough, they can invent and speak their own language!
Try On Outfit
Sim can try their twin's outfit! They or their twin can comment it in different way – from 'You look great, let's share clothes' to 'Your sense of style is self denial'.
Pretend At School
If a satisfaction score is high enough, sim can ask their identical twin to attend school in their place one day. This is very useful if your twin is much cleverer and more skilled. ;D
How it works:
Use the 'Ask Twin to Pretend at School' interaction on the identical twin the day before. This sim will receive a holiday tomorrow. You can either join the twin at school or send them alone — it doesn't matter.
The performance (including the twins' homework progress) that the twin achieves during the school day will be transferred to the sim. Their performance will decrease as if they weren't at school. This could result in a promotion or a demotion for both the sim and the twin.
Keep in mind!
It is only available for EA's grade and high school. It supports 'Go to School V5' by Zerbu, but not any other custom schools (but maybe I add support in the future). Naturally, both sims should be students.
It only affects performance; calls from the school to parents and social connections that the twin makes cannot be transferred. Consider it as parents and classmates being aware of the situation.
If the twin is promoted or demoted, it will be reset (but the sim may still be promoted or demoted after transferring). Because of this, you can see notifications about the twins' grades going up or down, but the information is not relevant.
You can't ask a twin who has already agreed to pretend to do so (may be the case for triplets and more), and a twin who is pretending can't ask someone else about it.
The twin may actually skip school and attend on another day, but you should manually give the sim a holiday then.
Don't manually send the sim to school; their performance will be replaced and it will be meaningless.
If something went wrong or you just changed your mind, shift + click on the twin with testingcheats enabled and use the 'Cancel Pretending at School Request' cheat

You receive Last Exception right after the game loaded?
If you're game version is 1.121+, you have the old version of this mod. Remove all files and install the newest one (1.2 for now). Older game versions aren't supported anymore, because the genealogy system has been significantly remade.
If you still get LE, there are files of incompatible version somewhere else in your Mods folder. Use 50/50 to find it
No interactions at all?
You didn't install the Lot51 Core Library correctly or you have an outdated version
No specific interactions?
It's only for identical twins but your twins are fraternal
They're not close enough
You should wait to use the interaction again (for twins secrets)

Hi, delete all files and download it again, you should only have the files of the 1.2 version. If the game is crashing, that's because you have old files

You should shift+click on active Sim and find a cheat 'add identical / fraternal twin'. FYI, opposite gender twins can be only fraternal

Yeah, that's a frequent question (so I advise to check other questions there too) It works with any count of children, they all will have the twins status and unique gameplay between all of them
Hi, I really like this mod! I wanted to ask, during gameplay, when a character with the twins trait uses Shift to open the cheat menu, the game crashes. After troubleshooting, I found that as long as I remove this mod, there's no problem at all. My version is 1.121, and all the prerequisites are the same version.
Hi, this mod doesn't cause such problems, but what do you mean by the twins trait? Do you mean the twins relationship or something else? In any case, remove everything from the Mods folder besides this mod, MCCC and Lot51 Core Library and try again. Also, make sure you have the 1.2 version

I'm so glad I found this mod I love it. So I play with the wicked whims incest unlock mod (for two vampire twins who are in love) so I have 3 bars, a romance, friendship, and your twin compatibility bar, and it causes glitches in the appearance. Could a future update maybe fix this? Also when I try to add them as members of a club the whole menu starts glitching. I'd hate to have to play without this mod or any of my wicked whims ones thank lol yoouuuuu~

Hi, make sure you have the latest Lot51 Core Library for your game patch and this mod versions, and that you apply the cheat on the correct sims (that they really may have fraternal or identical twins). Nothing was changed in the mod, I rechecked and it works fine.
Hi. The option on the Twins Pie Menu Category to remove twin status disappeared. I have 1 set of twins , but 4 children and it setup to make all twins and there´s no option on the Twins Pie Menu Category to remove that, like it used before.
Hi, the mod wasn't changed. Make sure you have the actual Lot51 Core Library version and you click on the active sim. There is no issue with all these cheats

The 1.2 version has the updated script for the 1.121 patch. Make sure you don't have the older files, and recheck the versions in all files names
Hi! so i had this mod before the feburary 3rd update. I was just wondering why my twins(born before the patch and i unistalled the 1.1 ver of this mod) are not showing as twins?
You mean that the updated version doesn't recognize them as twins? In this case, that's because their age progress differs too much to interpret them as born at the same time. The game bug. You can manually set the status using the cheats

Is there a way around twins having to be the same gender to be marked as identical? Can I use UI Cheats or MCCC to cheat it on? I haven't downloaded this mod yet to experiment. I have a pair of characters that I like to make in the Sims that are identical twins where one is transgender, where I tell the storyline that she's been accepted as her gender from a young age and received appropriate supports at each age to develop as her preferred gender. I prefer to do that by just making her female in CAS rather than relying on Lumpinou's LGBTQIA mod. (I enjoy Lumpinou's mod, I'd just like to do this without needing to rely on it). The other reason I'd like to be able to mark different gender twins as identical is to make characters from books and television. Like Alana and Thom from "The Song of the Lioness Quartet" or Phil and Lil from "Rugrats". I do understand that in real life the likelihood of identical twins being born with different sexes is extremely rare (I think less than 0.01% is what I found last time I tried looking it up) and requires some sort of genetic mutation in the womb after the egg splits. But it is still something possible. And something I'd like higher odds of for games of fiction.
Hi! Please don't use any cheats besides the ones from this mod. There has to be more information on sims, not only the relationship status. You can initiate the sims you want with the same gender, after that use the identical twins cheat. After that go back to the CAS to switch the sim to female gender. Though, I don't guarantee everything will go smoothly because there are identical twins checks for some situations. About the similarity: it's not possible not because of only me - the game itself generates the identical appearance only for the same gender twins (with 33% chance). However, it still can generate very similar brother and sister (I have such twins in my game), and they will be fraternal twins. I mean, the fraternal / identical status itself doesn't prohibit creating similar twins.
I hope this wasn't too much trouble to update for the new patch! I've really been enjoying this mod. 💗

Hi! First of all, I absolutely love your mods. You’re doing an amazing job, seriously. I have a quick question and hope you can help me. I manually added the twin status to one pair of twins in a family. After that, the mod started recognizing all other normal siblings in the same family as twins as well, even though they aren’t. Do you know what I might have done wrong, or how I can prevent this from happening? Additionally, my twin pair was suddenly marked as stepsisters. I was able to remove that with UI Cheats, but maybe you know what could have caused that too. Thank you so much
Hi! The mod doesn't affect EA relationship at all, so it's either a bug or other mod turning your siblings to stepsisters. Other siblings may considering twins if their age progress are quite close, it depends on how your game calculates the age phases. And you can't use Ui cheats to fix it because you see only part of the inner behavior, the twins relationship isn't the only thing the mod adds to the sims. Remove the mod, save the game without it, and put it back. To remove the status, use the Batch Remove cheat on the mailbox. This marks the sims as not twins for sure if they were considered so incorrectly

Hi, it works for existing twins too. If the mod doesn't recognize your twins, then use the cheats. Also, make sure you installed the script correctly

Hi. It doesn't matter, as the script runs for all sims in the save. However, it's better to install this mod before so you will not have to fix older / younger status (as it will not depend on the age of progress but the birth ofder instead)

Hi. Love your mods. When playing with the twins mod, all my kids and teens that are not twins (and no twins in the house) are popping up with moodlets for twins when coming home from school. They are getting the playful success at swapping places one. Also my adult and child sims are getting angry moodlets related to a twin being upset. Just an FYI. Love the update to this mod and all the possibilities.
