This mod automatically recognizes identical and fraternal twins among siblings of the same age in the households being played and give them unique features.
Twins status
Only twins with the same gender and which are similar enough will get the Identical Twins status!
In other cases, they will get the Fraternal Twins status.
I didn't make this mod specifically for two twins, so it works correctly even if you have triplets and more!
Special behavior
Some interactions (such as arguing about uniqueness and pretending to be twin) are available only for identical twins. You can find all available interactions in the Twins Pie Menu Category.
However, all types of twins can receive special moodlets while working on school projects together!
Special secrets between twins
Being close enough, twins can share special secrets and get reactions with the 'Share Innermost Thoughts' interaction. It's available if you installed Twins Secrets add-on!
This section of the mod is the largest: it currently has about 30 secrets that are available depending on preferences, character traits, lifestyle, career, and relationships. There's even a special secret for when twins are in love with the same sim x)
The twin's reactions (both positive and negative) also depend on the personality – I tried to make these secrets as close to your sims as possible!
In addition, they will not constantly tell the same thing to each other: firstly, you can tell a secret once every 3-4 days; secondly, already told secrets will not be repeated as long as the circumstances remain the same.
Right now, some secrets are available with Lumpinou's Relationships & Pregnancy Overhaul installed (specifically the M1, M7, and M9 modules). But if you want compatibility with any other mods, by all means tell me!
Iimitations
Keep in mind that even sims-generated monozygotic twins still have differences in genetics – and therefore I couldn't just take two values and compare them, so I added the required percentage of similarity of features and a minimum threshold for appearance to be considered the same.
Also, when life expectancy changes (or auto-aging is turned off), the sims may count the exact age of the sims differently, so auto-assignment won't always work correctly.
Plus, this mod doesn't consider hair, skin or eye colors – these parts of genetics are assigned different way, so it only takes into account face and body sliders. However, it may change in the future.
It may lead to assigning twins status for siblings who are not twins, or missing status for twins.
Cheats
Don't panic! For cases above, or if you want to cast twins, I've added cheats on sims. You can find them in the Twins Pie Menu Category with testingcheats enabled.
For any pair of native siblings (their parents should match) you can add and remove Fraternal Twins status.
Identical status cheats are available only for siblings with the SAME gender!
Plus, you can batch remove twins status via the mailbox:
It's useful if you have many pairs of twins in the save which you'd like to remove.

Hi, you should update the mod to the version 1.2 if you have the 1.121+ game version. Check the twins update post
So I've got the weirdest glitch. My two identical twins, doesn't show they are twins in the profile. And twin options only show up as an option when they are too uncomfortable to use said options. So in a way it works but it also doesn't please help.
How did you find out they are marked as identical twins? Did you use the mod cheats to remove / add the status?

hi, i had this mod for a while now, and i could use it and see it normally. but i had a break from the sims just before the new patch Avanture Awaits got released, and now i don't have any options for the mod in game. I tried it only with this mod, mccc, lot51, and lumpinou's mods, and still no "Twins" pie menu at all, not on sims, nor on the mailbox. not sure what is wrong, and it is installed corectly in my mods folder. been using mods for years.

Hi, check if you installed correctly the Lot51 Core Library. Other mods don't affect this one. Besides, make sure you're trying to apply cheats correctly, there are limitations

hi the mod isnt working for me, ive been looking for something like this for ages, as there are no twin/ triplet mods that i can find or traits . ive tried adding the twin traits to my sim sisters, but the option doesnt come up at all
It's in the cheats menu in the special category. However, it works only for siblings. The mod is working, so either you didn't use the cheats or install the mod correctly

Hi, I have an idea to make things even more exciting for certain players, just the way I like it. My Sims are sisters and love each other deeply. But that is incest, so is there a way to block kissing and sex when they realize they are sisters? The two should first be able to talk about whether they want to enter into a relationship as an incest couple. They should also make arrangements beforehand and then keep trying to see whether one or both are ready to enter into a relationship. If so, first allow kissing, so that the two don't jump into bed straight away. To go one step further, more conversations should be held, maybe even go to couples therapy, which came with the In Love Pack. Only then should it be possible for the two to sleep together.

Hello, I just installed this mod but none of the options are showing up in-game. I've tried the cheat sim info, the mailbox cheat. I can't find any twin options. I have Lot51 core. The mod is only one folder in, so that shouldn't be an issue. I don't know what the problem is.

Hello, I have a problem with the "Identical Twins" option. The "Give identical twins status" option is missing from the "Cheat Sim Info" menu in both versions 1.107 and 1.108. Additionally, in version 1.108, I receive a UI exception when the mod automatically recognizes identical twins among siblings of the same age in the households being played. I do not encounter this UI exception in version 1.107. My game version is 1.108.349.1020.

Hello! Since adding this lovely mod, it has made ALL of my sims with siblings twins (either fraternal or identical). I have a LOT of sims in my game, so it's a bit of a hassle to go around removing all of these statuses. Is there a way to edit the .log doc to remove them? Also, one of my sim's sister died, and I don't seem to have the option to remove the twin status from them. Is there a way to do that?
Hi! I'm glad you like this mod ;) I can add a cheat to make a batch removing of status so you can select multiple sims to remove it. Regarding to dead sims, there is now a filter for non dead sims but your case shows I should remove it. Thanks for the feedback! I'll try to fix it in the next few days

Please check if you've installed all required mods and placed it correctly. If you installed Health Issues Add-On before than reinstall it since I've fixed a string issue. With that completed, select Cheat Sim Info on the sim and select Add identical/fraternal twins status

I have just maybe one or a few ideas 😅. What if you can also set who's born first? Like the first born or second born. Maybe they can have a mean twin or nice twin trait? For each twin. Distant twins if they don't like each other. Also does the crush thing work different for different genders? Then maybe a birthday add on for twins. They can have an option to work together or not if they don't like each other. If they have older or younger siblings, maybe even the other siblings can wish they were a twin or had someone "like them". Or if the twins are older idk. Just ideas lol. 🙃

Hi, the first one is absolutely required since my mod doesn't work without it at all. The second one just extends possible secrets between twins - but you can install my mod without RPO. It's also compatible with just Base Game. The mod features apply for kids and up, but relationship bit of twins applies on infant stage

Don't worry, this mod doesn't conflict with any mod, including this one ;) That's because it doesn't override game files and just adds a new code
When you install the mod, does it still work for twins in separate households? My sim just moved out of her parent's house leaving her twin brother behind, would they still count?
Yes, it will work! The script runs among siblings from genealogy, not among a household where a sim is currently living. I want this feature since my families with twins also are living separately ;)
Yes!!! Unfortunately one of my twins is pregnant, and her sister aged up to young adult, since you can't age up when pregnant 😭
Don't worry, if you gonna use Twin Cheats, the only requirement your sims should meet is that they are siblings ;)
