Vinland Saga S01E15 - After Yule

this is where it starts to pick up and that one comment from the guy saying wait till ep 24 or whatever rubbish was talking about. it's culminating in this beautifully heavy and very much well earned second half

I'm loving the focus you're having on Askeladd and your uncertainty of how to feel about him. They throw a lot at you here and for Askeladd it kinda wobs and weaves him around in terms of how he is being presented. But I promise there is no filler here, I think you hit the nail on the head when you made the two points of this being through Thorfinns POV despite him remaining irrelevant to most of this plot recently.

I love this episode. The end explains exactly why we were shown the scene of Canute and the priest's doubt. The horror of suspecting your 'father' doesn't love you at all, and the denial that makes it tolerable.

great episode! I gotta say I absolutely love the score... It elevates every single moment in the show for me.
