Vinland Saga S01E06 - The Journey Begins

It’s an anime movie not a series, but I’d love to see a Perfect Blue reaction. Perfect Blue was a huge inspiration on Requiem for a Dream and Black Swan. The director of Perfect Blue also has a movie called Paprika, which was a big inspiration for Inception

I don’t know if anyone else has recommended it but the anime “monster” i would think would fit ur taste.

Rewatching this alongside you has reminded me how much depth even the side characters have to them in this series. Like it struck me last episode the moments of empathy & insight Bjorn exhibits, which are so in contrast to his fighting style with the bezerker mushroom. And even with the mother in this ep, in the space of a few minutes we're given so much depth to her to understand why she chooses to harbour thorfinn & how devastating it is to see he's not capable of ever being a replacement for her son. It's part of what Vinland Saga does best, in my opinion — it makes the most of even its minor characters to deliver the most emotional impact from them. It wastes nothing.

harrowing

jamaal i need you to watch chainsaw man and mob psycho after DN and VS. these are definitely more action oriented but also heavily character driven with great writing imo.

the bit that sounds like the n word you will unfortunately hear a lot lol. I don't know what the word is in japanese but it usually has a "well would you look at that" kind of meaning/vibe to it i think.

yesss keep it up man, great reactions

A bit of topic. But I really think you’d love a film called A Silent Voice Jamaal. If you ever want to take a break or just sit down for two hours to watch an anime film. I think it’s a great shout.

That sign that Askeladd made is just reminding him of the promise. "Follow my orders, and I'll reward you with a duel where you have a chance to kill me" pretty much.

dont normally comment but earlier in the season they stated even at 6 he was stronger than the kids who were around 11 or 12 and broke one of their arms if you remember that part

I take the symbol askalad makes with his hand as you want my head/ duel you do this for me

The sign Askeladd did with his neck towards Thorfinn was to remind him of his reward to get revenge and cut his head off that’s why Thorfinn got motivated and scouted the area like Askeladd asked

i predict alot of tears from u s2

This whole series is going to be a journey fr

He might cry again this episodes peak I believe

Never clicked on on a thing faster than this
