Korsagi Nightguard tutorial series (free lesson!)
When I painted the Korsagi Nightguard, something clicked for me.
My relationship with color and brushstrokes became more intuitive and relaxed.
I think that shift came from two things working together: steady practice, and a very deliberate choice to lower my expectations on this figure. Instead of chasing perfection, I focused on enjoying textures, colors, and the act of painting itself. Ironically, that’s when the work started to feel stronger.
In this video, I walk through:
Some focused NMM details
How I think about framing the figure when painting the insides of the sleeves
How I blend through textures while trying to keep the relaxed intuitive workflow of the initial paintjob
I genuinely loved painting this model and recording the series, so I wanted to make episode 2 (out of 4) available for free.
If you’d like to follow the entire process and see every decision unfold in real time, you can upgrade to access the full 4-part series on Patreon.
Thank you for your support! I hope you enjoy this free lesson and maybe take something from it into your own painting.
