Black Widow Watch-Along

Hold on, am I the only one that is baffled hearing Eralia say she's from Ukraine??

Thank you! And Don't apologize for wanting to watch this early on. Your reasoning for your level of Marvel awareness at the time was sound. Who knows maybe you are in the Black Widow Program and just have been set free yet? [or activated =]

I'm not sure if this is out of order or not, I think you've been jumping forward and back in release dates and continuity times. I would suggest sticking to release dates for movies and shows. I think the only shows that are really relevant to most of the main timeline is loki, Hawkeye, Wanda vision, falcon and winter soldier, maybe daredevil and punisher. There are others but they really aren't super impactful to the timeline. I'm sure there will be people saying oh no you gotta watch....agents of shield, Luke cage, agent Carter, groot, Jessica Jones, Luke cage, iron fist, defenders, moon knight, she hulk, iron heart, secret invasion, Agatha, wonder man, CAN ALL BE SKIPPED. I'm sure each one has a bevy of fan boys and girls, but at the end of the day they are not very integral to the overarching story, especially going forward.

Couple of fun facts: 1) That vest Yelena gave to Natasha is the same one Natasha wears in Infinity War, which chronologically takes place after the Black Widow movie. 2) Yelena teasing Natasha about her “poses” is how real life Florence Pugh felt about them, and the director decided to include that in the script. 3) Black Widow was a straight up villain in her first comic book appearance, until they wrote her as a heroine later on, and she even was a romantic partner of Daredevil, which you should really watch before Hawkeye, then after Daredevil and Hawkeye, comes The Falcon and Winter Soldier. That’s all, I’m done. 😌

and miss marvel

now watch the hawkeye series.

Military Bestie!!! when are we watching Agatha All Along? to finish the WandaVision/ Witch Saga?

😂 it never ends. One story opens another

Yet another great reaction to another great MCU movie. I love that this was released right after Endgame, even though it's set shortly after Civil War, because it almost feels like a tribute to Natasha after her sacrifice. It was really nice finally getting to spend more time with her outside of the Avengers movies, and I absolutely loved the dynamic between her and Yelena. Florence Pugh absolutely steals every scene she's in. I had completely forgotten that the post-credit scene leads straight into the Hawkeye TV series. I've tried not to recommend too many Marvel shows because the MCU rabbit hole gets overwhelming very quickly once you start adding TV into the mix, but Hawkeye is one I'd actually feel pretty comfortable recommending now remembering that scene. It follows on directly from this movie, is only six episodes, and tells a complete story, so it's a pretty easy watch if you ever feel like squeezing another series in. As always, another brilliant reaction. Looking forward to seeing where you head next!

Yeah, you have to watch Hawkeye series so you can follow Yelena’s journey before the New Avengers. 😊

Definitely need to watch Falcon and The Winter Soldier next! This is kind of a messy point in the MCU where the shows are something of a core part of the timeline, with characters getting their first introduction in the shows.

pls dont skıpt hawkeye, dont care as much about falcon tv show

As a break from the MCU, Florence Pugh is in an amazing movie called Little Women, based on the 1868 classic novel. It was the first movie I saw her in, and the whole cast killed it!

You have to watch Hawkeye series to see what happens to this story.

You would be a great Black Widow Cosplayer, Talking Russian at conventions, You would be famous!

Eralia: "But she sacrificed herself for the Soul Stone!" ME: *sniffs, single tear* "Aww, they grow up SO fast.... Look Chat, she's finally a little MCU Nerd!" 😂

The disappointing thing in this movie was Taskmaster, in the comics he's almost as bad as Deadpool always talking and in this movie doesn't say a word.

At least because this movie dropped full covid, you're getting the same new-at-home experience most of us got :)

The end of this movie brings you right up to the Hawkeye series which will bring you back to the post blip world. It also brings back Yelena still working as an assassin as well as introducing you to Kingpin. You then run face first into the "Thunderbolts" movie and get to meet "Bob..." Yeah way to much to express in proper grammar without writing a 500 word post.

Guys, of course Eralia isn't part of the Black Widow program If such an agency existed, she wouldn't be at liberty to disclose about any of it. She was in Budapest “just for work”, as the movie showed, no Black Widow activity in Budapest at all. Yelena screaming “This was fun” right before doing something extremely dangerous feels like peak younger sibling energy.

While this released after Endgame and Widow's death, the timeline for this happens right after Civil War and spoils nothing that is to come later (aside from the post credit scene) and so I wonder if this works better 'chronological' rather than release order. The release timing of this feels less about it being a calculated 'right' time for this, and more like an 'oops, we forgot to do justice to this great character and now it's too late'.

Possibly unpopular take but the Hawkeye series still remains my favourite MCU series so far. It’s easily glossed over but I do hope there will be a watch-along of it on here 🤞🏻

After the MCU, just watch a bunch of Florence Pugh movies. She's so great an actress!

I loved this movie. Yelena was awesome. This was one of the better post End Game movies imho.

Yelena is easily the best legacy character introduced in the MCU. Florence makes her so distinct from Natasha and has really shone in her various appearances since this movie. I'd really love to see a Hawkeye reaction soon. Especially now that you know Yelena will be gunning for him.

Now time for The Falcon And The Winter Soldier and Hawkeye then back to the movies

Thanks for all you do 🫡🫶 Please consider A House of Dynamite. 🏠🧨💥

This was when Marvel realized they messed up and realized they shouldve given her a movie before endgame.

Here we go! Also, I'm making a new rule for myself. I'm just here to watch you watch, without trying to divert the sacred timeline. (We'll see how long that lasts!)

Genuinely love this; Florence Pugh is an actual treasure to this franchise, and it was nice to see ScarJo given a send off after Endgame Fun film, fun future ahead, many thanks and looking forward to this now!

eralia = Widow sleeper agent confirmed :P

Anyone know how to adjust sound levels for different apps on android split screen? My google-fu has failed me. Earbuds don't work with my new hearing aids so i can't do the buds-in-headphones dual phones thing anymore 🦻🎧😪

One of the ones I was waiting for.

Oooh, such a good origin story. Loved her character.
