Hearing you say "Maximum Ride" was such a blast from the past I think you gave me whiplash🤣
I think this movie is hot garbage, but still watched because Eralia's reactions are always A+ and need to continue following the journey. I'm actually relieved she enjoyed it because it's so many damn movies! First Class and Days of Future Past will really blow your mind. X1 and X2 are very good and I think they both are better. Then of course Logan, absolute masterpiece. The others in the X-Men series... ehh, won't at all be disappointed if Eralia skips them.
End-credit: Charles' mind goes into the body of the guy w/no brain function they mentioned early on.
My Aunt Suzy once told me, when she took me out to our first theater movie together, "Raiders of the Lost Ark," (Yes, I'm that old, lol) that you should leave every movie or finish every book having learned something about the human experience. If you can't find something to relate to (an emotion, a theme, a moral value to reflect upon), then you have wasted your time. Your introduction to this reaction reminded me of that. Kudos.
X-Men Origins: Wolverine will be the next installment. Though this was Wolverine’s first solo film in his own trilogy, it is considered the worst one out of those three movies. The next two, however, got better and better. X-Men: First Class is considered one of the best X-Men Films, so excited for you to see that. Can’t wait to see those reactions too. 😁
Yep, confirmed - this is still my favourite of the original trilogy. You kept saying, "How can this be the third movie? Where do they even go from here?" and, without spoiling anything, these three movies are very much a complete trilogy. Everything after this either explores characters' pasts, tells side stories, or takes the timeline in a different direction. This chapter is pretty much wrapped up. Next up is technically X-Men Origins: Wolverine, and I'm really curious to see your reaction to that one. It's probably one of the most divisive Marvel movies ever - people love to argue about it. 😅 I still think it's a fun watch in its own way though. As for the mutant "classes" they mentioned, the movies never really expand on that, so don't worry if it felt a bit underexplained. One thing I do find interesting, though, is how when Magneto frees all the imprisoned mutants, you notice a lot of similar mutations - multiple teleporters, several frog-like mutants, and so on. Whether that was intentional or not, it gives the impression that some mutations are simply more common than others. Also, the Bobby vs. Pyro showdown is such a fun scene. The whole Dragon Ball Z energy of it, followed by: "You should've stayed in school." "You never should have left." ...as Bobby finally embraces his powers. Such a satisfying payoff. Another great reaction as always. Looking forward to the next one!
This movie gets a lot of criticism because of the way it introduced the Phoenix Force. The Phoenix saga is considered one of the best stories of the X-Men. The Dark Phoenix (Phoenix Force) is one of the most powerful entities in the marvel universe. They really dropped the ball with this movie. Really, the Phoenix Saga should have its own trilogy. I hope this is a story they do post Doomsday.
Thank you so much for adding Xmen to your Marvel journey. F4 is good too, and please consider Mystery Men as part of your superhero journey. 🙏🫶😸
my fav reactor heyyyy hox are you ?! it's funny because you asked who would win between jean grey and wanda and no spoller but in the comics the civil war is Avengers vs Xmen unfortunately the xmen rights belonged to fox and the avengers to marvel and disney since they bought marvel so we could not have "the real civil war" but MCU civil war was good too haha
I just gotta applaud your ability to analyze what you’re seeing. There’s been many occasions along this journey where you’ve said things and I’ve been like “Oh she’s gonna feel so good about that comment down the line. She has no idea” lol
As for the next installment, "X-Men Origins"....I'm eager to see how Eralia feels about "The-Studio-Decision-That-Shall-Not-Be-Named". Actors said in interviews that the Studio Exec responsible was high 😵 on 🌨 and was trying to be "edgy" and "meta". Allegedly. But the movie adaption video game was great! It's one of the rare movie adapted games that didn't suck. 😎
In X2 when Eralia said "it's only the second movie and she dies already" my first thought was "Don't worry she dies again in the next movie"
Something I will always appreciate about this movie is bringing Beast and Wolverine together. In the comics they’ve had a legendary friendship. They’ve gone through hell and back for each other. So seeing them side by side is just chicken soup for the comic nerd soul 😂
1:34:42 Okay I just choke on my drink when you were mourning the deaths and then went, "Not the denim on denim..." XD Also, I know you said "And this is just the third movie?" But at the time we thought this was the last movie. It's also why I preferred the 2nd movie (someone asked me about that), because this one broke me for a while, and I didn't see that end credits scene. I also haven't seen any of the other X-Men movies, unless you count the standalone(ish) Wolverine movies.
I know some people got ticked at me for saying "watch what you want", but they don't seem to grasp the enormity of having to absorb all this lore in such a short period of time, because they didn't do it themselves. And that's the only reason I've ever advocated skipping around, because it is a LOT, and they weren't made with binge-watching in mind, especially back then. That being said, you do you. If you're up to the challenge, then by all means, have at it!
Eralia, LISTEN TO ME... whenever someone criticizes you for being a LITERAL HUMAN BEING.... *super-confident sniff*... Uhhh, yeah, Eff those guys. You're INTELLIGENT, you're CHARMING, you're TALENTED, you're WELCOMING, you're POSITIVE, you're ENDEARINGLY QUIRKY, you're GENUINE, and if I may be so bold, a beautiful young woman (not that it matters), with a great smile and super-cute and fun hairstyles. To sum up, you're just plain AWESOME! So eff those other jerks. You're killin' the game, Playa 😎👍🏻✨
next is X-MEN ORIGINS WOLVERINE cant wait
X-Men universe is confusing to all of us. Hang in there, I think you should try to watch them all to have a sense of what’s been done and what is coming with X-Men being part of the larger MCU now.
Also when you do decide to watch Superman movie I hope you start with Man of Steel.
Love your reactions!! Please tell me at some point you will watch Arcane?
In this movie you have 4 Omega class (most powerful rating) mutants they are, Magneto, Professor X, Jean Grey AKA Phoenix and Wolverine. As for the Blue Furry mutant that is "Beast" which if you go back to the ending of Deadpool when he is telling Colossus to "get lost and tell Beast to stop shitting on my lawn" refers to his character who was plated by the actor Kelsey Grammer... Another fun Easter Egg for you...
This one was a bit of a mess mostly due to the studio. They had originally intended this to be the end of a trilogy with the first two films. Then they changed their minds which required changing around the ending to be more open. On the one hand there's some stuff important to future movies in it, on the other hand it creates some confusion moving forward. That's why I suggested it was one that could be skipped.
I cant believe this was my first time seeing that end credit scene😅
Well if there was ever a reason to watch this specific film again it would be Eralia 😆
Yeah, it probably would be cool to show a kid these movies, but I would probably avoid Logan depending on the age.
The body that was in a comma was actually Charles Xavier's twin brother who is brain dead at birth. Charles was able to put his conscious into his twin's body since it wasn't being occupied. Just a fun note: in the original comics Charles Xavier and Juggernaut were brothers.
In the post credit scene, the body was not charles. It was the body with no consciousness that he taught the students about at the begging of the film. He transferred his own mind into it before he died
Dont get to overwhelmed with the amount of movies. Not all of them are a coherent story. Lots of prequels, sequels, side quests sort of things. They are not as tightly nit as MCU. And if there is relevant information from other movies, they often do a good job reflecting with flashbacks and such. Its not that bad. So continuing forward, dont be afraid to pick whatever seems most interesting to you. PS: Always happy to spot some oopy-goopy.
After hearing you ask how Professor X ended up in the wheelchair, it has me hope that the next X-Men film you discuss will be the prequel First Class with James McAvoy as 1950s aura'd Charles Xavier and Enzo of the Assassins Creed universe, Michael Fassbender as a younger Magneto. That timeline then followed by The Wolverine's trilogy to get ready for the continuation of Deadpool's timeline. 🤓😅 Get ready for That inevitable visit however cause in the years since it was released in the first place, its become all the more tragic to see what caused the duo's essential break up and what made them go their separate ways. 💔🤓😅 Call me Cyclops this time around E cause watching this with you has been a complete blast getting me all the more excited to see how you'll react to the future adventures of the X-Men! 😎🤓🤣 Its funny you bringing up Scarlet Witch BTW cause spoiler alert: she's Magneto's birth daughter and with that, LFG! 🤓😅✌️🏳️🌈❤️
You're going to confuse people by blending the comics with the MCU movies, which are different canons at this point. MCU Wanda Maximoff is not MCU Eric Lehnsherr's daughter. (Unless they decide that in one of the Multiverse Earths, but AFAIK they haven't so far.)
Wait, THERE WAS A POST CREDITS SCENE???? Holy hell, he swapped his consciousness with that guy without higher brain functions. That's so sneaky. But here's the question. Were Charles's powers part of his mind or just his genetics? Will he lose all his abilities or will it slowly start coming back like Magneto's? :o
Pretty sure the powers are genetic. Swapping bodies would cause Charles to lose his abilities.
Definitely not my favorite X-Men movie 😂 But I'm loving the reaction to it. I wanted to say that you singing the 20th Century Fox intro theme helped me with synchronizing my copy of the movie to yours.
I really hope some people aren’t giving you a hard time about “not being a real marvel fan” for googling during a movie. That’s just wild 😆
In the comics Magneto is Wanda's father
It’s a Great day when I wake up to your posts ❤️😁
Girl, I'd never roast you for googling things on the fly. My ADHD brain needs the information input about THE THING constantly. Hell, I'm thinking of getting a 3rd screen just so I can have IMDB and wikipedia open at the same time.
people act like i’m an entertainer and not a human sometimes 🤣 someone once said “she’s not a professional reactor” lmao
My body: "It's Saturday, we can sleep in and--" My brain: "--A NEW ERALIA DROPPED! WAKE UP!"
2:03 Speaking of being a superhero in your own way, and the release of Spider-Man: Brand New Day," (not a spoiler), if you were to react to Joss Whedon's online short movie "Dr. Horrible's Sing-A-Long Blog," starring Neal Patrick Harris, Nathan Fillion and Felicia Day, that would be shiny.
