I liked this one
Hey E. 👋 Firstly, Love your story about Simu. That's just a baller "meet a star" story IMO. NGL, this is now making me wanna see your reaction to the Barbie movie "also" with Shang-Chi himself especially as in it, he has beef with (eventual) Ghost Rider, Ryan Gosling as a sorta variant of himself. 🤓🩷😅 If you don't know Ghost Rider, don't worry cause chances are you'll meet him eventually while going down the Marvel Rabbit Hole. 🐰🤓😅 I won't spoil anything for "that" but just know that you'd be in for a hell of a ride with it on account of it starring the master of hammy acting, Nicolas Cage. 🙏🤓🤣 Wonder who you would see more as a real-life cartoon character between Cage and Green Goblin's Willem Dafoe. 🤓🧐😅 Honestly, would Love to see your take on the film "Everything, Everywhere All at Once" as well with it featuring Shang's aunt, Michelle Yeoh and his lawyer friend from the beginning of the movie. 🤓😅 On a large scale sense, it could be argued as being connected to Marvels Multiverse created through the actions of Loki and bonus points with it being produced by the creators of Infinity War and Endgame. 🤓🤓🤣 Regardless, these videos of yours are as magical an experience as these movies themself and for that, I thank you cause we can "All" use a little magic in our lives at this point in time. (yourself included as well I mean 😅) Hope you're keeping well and living your best life and here's to the both of our reactions down the line to the newest Spider-Man with it being from the director of "this". 🤓🤯😅🤣❤️✌️ Fun fact in case you didn't know/couldn't remember: the ten rings were also the group who abducted tony stark and yinsen way back in Iron Man 1. 🤓😅😅
As many have already noted, ultimately it's your channel and your decision as to what to watch and everyone should respect that. That being said, I have observed many creators being swayed by comments to skip certain shows/movies that some amount of people deem "skippable". Whether in your own time or for the channel, I hope you do eventually watch most of the other shows/movies, but in particular I see a lot of creators skip over "Hawkeye" and "Ms. Marvel", both of which are generally more upbeat and lighthearted than much of the MCU and I find them very charming and entertaining, not least because of the actors nailing their roles and the fact that Ms. Marvel gives a great look into another culture we don't usually get to see. Additionally, I'm sure a lot will also tell you to skip "The Marvels", which I hope you don't for the same reasons (unfortunately there is an underlying current of sexism against her that has followed Brie Larson around in this franchise since "Captain Marvel" which contributed to the movie's box office performance). Either way, love all of these and have a great day!
Yes! Shang-Chi rules! The watch order of the movies doesn't really matter in phases 4 and 5, so you're fine. People will probably tell you to skip Black Widow and Eternals, but you know better than that. They aren't peak Marvel, but they have their charms. You'll want to know some of the characters from Black Widow later, so that one kind of needs to be seen. Eternals is less connected so far, but I personally love it, and it enlarges the Marvel universe in interesting ways. It's up to you, of course, but I think you should watch them.
I know it's only a fraction of the movie, but I always get frustrated when reactors don't just let the credits roll. You could just lower the volume and talk until the mid or post credit scene starts. No need for resyncing that way. Not that it matters here, because for some reason her reaction to them is edited. Just a pet peeve of mine.
pls pls pls Black Widow movie and then Hawkeye tv show pls pls pls
I’ll be honest, when I first watched this, I was disappointed with it because I was expecting something more along the style of “The Raid” or “The Protector” as this was Marvel’s first film into the Kung Fu genre. So when the film entered the mystical, fantastical world for the last act, it lost me there. However, it is always a treat to see you enjoy that side of Marvel and it does help me appreciate the films I may not have before. Can’t wait to watch your reaction to X2. 😁
Isn't it great how we all have opinions? E, lookit my name. Do you think I let anyone tell me what to watch or how?? Here's a reminder that 'Free-Will" exists. Transmission ends.
Didn't love it the first time I saw it. Enjoyed it a lot more this time around with the watch-along! It grew on me a lot! I can see why some people really loved it now!
This movie hits. Great lore
Rewatching this movie has made me change some ideas of the next couple movies. But my takeaway is, if this movie didn't get made during COVID and then release during the big slump of theatres it would have done way better. I firmly believe the sequel will be PEAK. I
I hope you react to Ms. Marvel
You da goat
I love this movie, and it has such powerful emotions in it! I'm so glad that you got to enjoy it! Such a powerful tale of how grief can twist us into knots and lead us down a dark path if we don't handle it properly. I hope you keep going with the shows, too! Falcon and the Winter Soldier is a lot of fun, and 100% relevant to the movies in the long run. The big pieces of watch order that I would stand by are "Don't watch Loki, season 2 until after Ant-Man and The Wasp: Quantumania, and watch the Guardians Holiday Special before Guardians 3." But, yeah, Hawkeye is a lot of fun, even if you are likely to get to it before Christmas XD Also, I will _always_ recommend What If...? It may not directly play into things the way the live-action shows do, but it is still 100% worth the watch. Season 2, especially, has a lot of my absolute favorite Marvel show episodes. PLUS, season 1 has Chadwick Boseman's final performances, so... that's so bittersweetly beautiful in its own right...
So psyched you loved it! I say don’t skip anything! Every movie, every series finds a way to connect to the overall MCU and I find that everything is unique and insightful in its own way. The Marvel comics do a great job in creating this lure that can dive into all types of different cultures, the MCU does a great job to dive even further into them. 😊
This movie is so much fun. I honestly think it's one of the more underrated MCU movies. The fight choreography is incredible, and the dragons are just awesome. Dragons automatically make any movie better in my book. 😄 Drogon is still my number one dragon—the level of detail on him is unreal—but these two are fantastic in their own right. Also, Simu Liu was in a sitcom called Kim's Convenience before this, and it's such a funny show. Seeing him go from that to leading a Marvel movie was quite the jump. Yeah, you're right that this one works pretty much anywhere after Endgame. Same with Black Widow and Eternals—they're technically earlier in the release order, but they're largely standalone stories, so watching them in a slightly different order doesn't really hurt anything. And with the next Avengers movie getting closer, it's exciting to see all these newer characters being introduced before everything starts coming together again. You've still got plenty of great MCU movies ahead of you. Looking forward to seeing what's next!
I forgot Abomination was in this and Wong. Abomination is Emil Blonsky from the Edward Norton Hulk movie. I thought this was an MCU hidden gem.
Tony Leung agreeing to be in this was such a huge deal. He's an absolute legend over in Asia. That man might have some of the most emotive eyes I've ever seen in an actor. Also, a big reason Captain Marvel showed up is because the director Destin Daniel Cretton has had Brie Larson in a lot of his movies. Just a little nice way to sneak her into another one of his movies. I could be extremely biased, but I think Wenwu's Hong Kong gangster looks are among some of the best costuming in the MCU. They go so incredibly hard.
^^^^^ THIS! When taking a break from Marvel, I highly recommend several of his movies: Internal Affairs (2002) - Crime / Drama - remade in 2006 into The Departed by Scorcese which won the Best Picture Oscar Hero (2002) - Epic / Kung Fu - Alongside Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon the most accessible and beautiful big budget kung fu movie of that era. The visuals are jaw droppingly gorgeous to behold. In the Mood for Love (2000) - Romance / Drama
Is it me or are the latest videos a lot quieter than usual?? Even at 100% volume on the player, i had to turn down the noise of everything else on my PC and crank the master volume up to hear anything.. I know a previous vid we had something similar and she caught it about 10 min in but.. not sure if it's a recording setting or what being used that always starts it so quiet.
Love that you loved the movie!
I like this movie because it brings in great Chinese mythology and culture. Their martial art is always nice to watch. Im excited to see it in action with the other heroes and their fighting styles. And always happy to see some Oopy-Goopy. Btw, moving forward there are a lot of movies like this. Small references but mostly self-contained. Only a few exceptions. So have fun picking what smells right.
Love the dedication, always forget to post here because of discord 😂. X-Men 97 is part of the MCU multiverse, and would give your a really good handle on what the X-Men are all about. Recommend starting with the original 90s cartoon, that covers a lot of their famous arcs before the modern stuff. If you ever want a break from Superheroes here's a few suggestions. Stardust (2007) - Fantasy, Romance, Comedy The Fugitive (1993) - Suspense, Thriller, Mystery Varsity Blues (1999) - Teen, Drama Relax and destress when you can, and stay safe out there. Also they make magnetic putty slime like yours that you can fidget with that's super fun!
Amazing movie and amazing reaction thank you for sharing your MCU journey!
So no Black Widow, I get it, hits too close to home. hehe no worries, you should just do the new fantastic four movie and then just wait until Doomsday to come out then you will be all caught up.
Awkwafina is an actress in her own right and plays the female lead in the movie "Renfield" While Michelle Yeoh got her start working with Jackie Chan... Also in "Ironman one" you get the first mention of the 10 rings as his kidnappers are members of the 10 rings... Another thing you might want to keep in mind is that video games "borrow" content wherever they can like comic books (Marvel provides content for them as they can take bits and pieces filing off the serial numbers and weaving it into their storyline) Marvel has not only superheroes but mythology, science (loosely speaking), fantasy and other genres as well. DC (Detective Comics) started out with Batman and Superman then built from that and also has characters like Lucifer and Constantine which are both very good. Their content is much more limited in variety though.
Severance guy also asked Spiderman to do a backflip in Homecoming. Humbly request if more Michelle Yeoh- Everything Everywhere All at Once 💯🥰😲🤯🥹🤛👌, Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon💯🎵🦋🤛😭👌, & Awkwafina - Raya and the Last Dragon 🦋🥰🫶🤛🫂
Don’t skip anything. It’s a long journey but it’s a wonderful one
It's weird most people dont rate Shang chi that high but i think its super underated. Watching this at the movies was epic as well
Making the mass public do unexpected reading will always be a popularity ding. Dyslexia is the #1 disability
This director is the same director of a newer marvel show(top 3 shows) and the upcoming spiderman movie. He is setting the bar high for the action scenes in spiderman lol
& yet I still prefer Daredevil. Dare-devil dare-devil (dare-devil dare-devil) But no seriously this was better with rewatch, like most things🫶
Eralia, as with any large franchise, there will be people telling you “you need to do X” and “you can skip X”. We all have our personal preferences and like some MCU content more than others. However, the only way to know if you will like something is to try it out. Phases 4 & 5 seemingly have a lot of disconnected content and none of us know what elements will definitely come back later on but the MCU content of 2025 and 2026 benefits from at least a cursory knowledge of the films and TV shows; and Kevin Feige has reconcentrated efforts to tighten the MCU after Disney pushed for a lot of extra content when they started up Disney+. I personally think sticking to release order is the “best” way to absorb and keep straight the continuity of things but you do what you feel is best. And don’t let people (including myself) sway you from any content. I’ve seen reactors truly enjoy things I don’t like, and dislike what I do … and that’s just how it goes when you watch content like this.
Please stop giving bad advice nothing in the MCU is stand alone. This movie is an excellent example of that FACT. Without watching "Ironman", "The Incredible Hulk" and "Dr Strange" this would have caused a lot of confusion for her in watching this movie (as in WTF and Who in the shit biscuits is that). When she finally makes it to "Deadpool and Wolverine" she will miss half the movies context if she follows your bad advice.
Eralia and the legend of the ten pandas
This will be a fun watch. I can't wait for you to see What if?...
Ok, at this point I'm just gonna dare you to watch A House of Dynamite. I don't think you've got the nerve. There, I said it. 😬😳🏠🧨💥
Watching an amazing Marvel movie at the crack of dawn on my day off? Why not! LFG! ::grabs toaster strudel:: Also, that's the best "intro to Shang-Chi" I've ever heard.
A lot of people poo poo this movie for... reasons... Maybe because they felt it didn't fit well into the Marvel universe or because of the acting, but I really enjoyed it. It's whimsical and expands the universe in ways that even the other established heroes didn't know about. It's added complexity and nuance. Shut up and enjoy the show, nerds! 3, 2, 1, go!
