Hi guys. 🫂 The day has finally come I’m officially showing you my bathroom. Yes, I finished it. You may applaud, but carefully. It’s still slippery.

I’ve attached before and after photos so you can truly feel the scale of the tragedy. The bathroom was orange. Not a “warm shade,” not “vintage,” but that sad, tired orange that looks like it gave up on life before I did. Old, heavy, and emotionally depressing. Luckily, the landlady agreed to a small update, and I, being anxious but prepared, came to her with ready-made projects. So she could immediately understand: this wasn’t just “I want to paint it,” I had a concept, a vision, and a little internal drama.

Originally, I wanted an olive color. I already had the full picture in my head - the mood, the vibe, almost a philosophy. But for some reason, the landlady didn’t approve olive. And once again, I caught myself thinking that in Poland, people quite often lack a sense of taste - both in clothing and interiors. I move a lot and see how people arrange their homes. Sometimes it raises questions. Sometimes it causes mild depression.

It’s often hard for me to create coziness based on the furniture that already exists. And, as usual, finances don’t allow me to replace the floor or tiles completely, change furniture or plumbing, and start life from a blank page. So we work with what we have.

Which, by the way, is a pretty useful life skill.

In the end, we looked for a compromise and settled on a warm beige. I can’t say I was thrilled, but reality tends to be stubborn. I still really dislike the bathroom floor and the cabinets, but unfortunately, I can’t change that. I did the maximum of what was possible. I’m not a designer, I don’t have a clear understanding of what should go with what, but I tried ❤️
