Last night was a total mess. Another episode of insomnia 🥲
You know the drill — you lie there like a boiled noodle, and your brain’s like: “Hey, let’s go over every mistake you’ve made since 2012.” And off we go…
About a month ago, I decided to grow up and stop taking sleeping pills. I thought I had won — my sleep seemed okay, and I was getting ready to reduce my antidepressants with my doctor.
Spoiler: not happening today.
This is the third night in a row of sleep behaving like public Wi-Fi — unreliable and slightly evil.
Today was a full-blown catharsis. I finally fell asleep at 9:45 AM.
Yes, morningđź«
Slept for an hour, woke up like a zombie, tossed and turned, and somehow managed to catch another 2.5 hours of sleep.
Had a dream — a horrible one. I was аs.sаulted (sorry for the dark content), and I was fig.hting for justice. Woke up in cold sweat, heart racing like I’d just finished a marathon.
Anyway, the day had to go on. Work was piling up.
So I decided to treat myself with «syrniki» — sweet cottage cheese pancakes.
Fun fact about me: I love cooking. But syrniki? They’ve always been my personal boss battle. No matter how many times I tried, they always failed — too soft, too burnt, or just existentially wrong.
But today… miracle!
They turned out delicious. Beautiful. Perfect. I feel like I’ve unlocked an achievement. I’m 30 years old and just now, for the first time ever, I made good syrniki. A tiny, but truly heartfelt victory.
By the way — question for my international friends: Do you guys have anything like syrniki in your country?
Like, are they a thing in the US, Canada, France? Or is this one of those magical Slavic-only creations?
