There’s this thing that happens sometimes with my drawing that I kinda hate but I have now accepted is just part of my learning cycle; I’ll try to draw something that’s maybe a bit different or pushing my limits a bit and then have a complete meltdown and stop drawing for a month to six weeks in despair, then I will eventually work up the courage to lift the pencil again and find I have somehow improved despite a long period of not practising. Maybe it’s that my brain needs time to process what I’ve learnt? And my abuse damaged grey matter takes a long time to change? Who knows… But that moment when I finally get the courage to try and draw again is always so nice. Like, drawing at the level I was before is so much easier and faster, less hesitation, generally more relaxing, more productive… I will indulge in it for a week or two before starting to raise my ambitions once again, slowing myself to crawl as I reach for new heights rather than stay comfortably productive where I was… I do like improving but it’s hard work and stressful and I do wish I could spend more time just drawing and enjoying it rather than running my brain hot pushing my limits. Anyway, I just entered the “getting back into it and enjoying it” phase so I’m going to enjoy it! I did that little comic on Friday which was fun; I rushed it and didn’t spend long on it, took about an hour and a half, but it’s pretty good if a bit messy. Then I did this today, I like to listen to a certain kind of music while I draw, bash your head repeatedly against your key-board and you might just get the name of the YouTube video who’s thumbnail I borrowed these characters from!
I’d like to lick both of their tummies, yes.
I’ve been playing the Sims 2! Wow, my life updates continue to be amazing! First garden furniture, now the Sims 2! What-ever will come next on this wild ride! I like to play the Sims 4 a lot but I play that a bit differently, I like to just make pretty houses as I find the actual Sims part rather bland and boring in that one. The Sims 2 though, I like to play with my Sims :3 I don’t feel bad for them, they’re not real, I’m just exploring some stuff, you know? It’s HEALTHY!! Okay!! I’m not hurting anyone! It’s just a game… Though Techboy did see my neighbourhood and get genuinely upset for them, he empathises with inanimate objects quite strongly; it’s a bit of a problem sometimes because he never wants to throw anything away… I’m getting distracted, anyway I posted about that on Facebook and someone made a comment that was so wild I felt the need to immortalise it as a little doodle so there’s that. I invite you to share any insight into why someone would comment something like this for all to see.
Hope you’re all doing wonderfully! I love you XOXO
