“Like you and mom” on a relisten makes me want to sob and throw up
In the immortal words of Aabriya Iyengar, my whole shit is so fucked up 😭
It is 33°c, I am walking in the humidity, delivering mail and trying very very hard to not cry and sob as I am walking down the street 😭 oh what a heartbreaking and beautiful journey 💔
Oh, my heart! I'm so glad that I decided watching Dimension 20 wasn't enough and went looking for a podcast. This was so incredibly heartwarming and simultaneously sad in that bittersweet way some childhood memories are. I can't wait to now meet these three again when they're grown...
Hello, this is my first time listening to this podcast. I just finished the prequel of the children’s adventures, and i was immediately hooked. I loved the journey they went through and now I can’t wait to see them as adults. On to the next episode. #nospoilers
Listening to this back again makes me wanna cry again but also break everything around me ahahha im so mad
Since I came to the series late, I should have started with this. Did I? No. I started with Book 1 and now im sad. . . sadder. You are all so talented and now we are all crying. Thank you.
Profoundly sad and yet sparkling with love and hope. Absolutely stunning performances all around. Beautiful in every way. Incredible work, and thank you
Pave paradise put up a fucking road 🌲🌳
I ended up listening to the children's adventure well after book one concluded. I'll tell ya, I've never been more happy to spend my money. It really helped to fill in a few things that were touched on but not really discussed at any serious length in the main adventure, and it's really helped button it up for me. Since then I've listened to the entirety of the WWW three times over! And can I just say, you all have really put forth something not only worth paying for, but something truly unique and awe inspiring. It's everything I've ever wanted in a story. I can't tell you how many times I've cried or how many times I've yelled "FUCK YEAH!" while driving. The music and sound design is also spot on, and really helps it connect with me on an emotional level. I took some time after each episode of book one to write down a scene I could really picture in my head, and I'll be making matte paintings of each of them. Just wanted to reach out and tell you all how much I appreciate your work, and I think what you're doing is artistry at its finest and true credit to story tellers and ttrpg players everywhere. (Although I undoubtedly need more WWW... this new campaign Solari is really doing it for me too!!) Ps: Congrats Aabria!!! :)
TAYLOR! Hats off on the music during the “talk” with Suvi and Steel. Incredible!!!!!
When Ame said she made the resin smell like Suvi' mother's cloak "free of the smell of smoke and fear and steel" I know she couldn't have meant Steel then, but that name is such perfect synecdoche for the application of industrial scale violence, that I totally head cannon that the smell Ame gives to Suvi is also free of Steel.
You gotta know on the inside Brennan was screaming 🤣
Watching this after the end of book one hits differently
Ame giving Suvi the resin vial that smells like her mother's cloak…that hit me RIGHT in the feels!
Doing a register through the story now that Book 1 is over and Brennan you are a storytelling aficionado but a very, very BAD MAN!
My favorite moment from this episode, and possibly all of WWW, is when Steel tells Eursulon to pick up his sword to help protect, whereas Sir Curren tells Eursulon that the Shield is the most most important, since it can better defend those you seek to protect. It's a perfect encapsulation of both their characters and a phenomenal start to Eursulon's arc throughout the series.
Listening again after Ep 54. How long after "Incident White Scar" did Steel get Suvi? She's clearly still injured. What was once a beautiful moment is now ruined with context.
I didn't cry until Suvi thanked Grandmother Wren for being her family. Instant tears.
Does anyone know whether this story keeps up this emotional intensity? Because I'm averaging more than one cry per show at this point. If I keep binge listening, there's going to be nothing left of me soon.
I had less cries once the main story started but definitely still quite a few. Especially towards the end of each chapter.
I just started listening because I fell in love with Aabria's poetic and whimsical storytelling on MaM and especially ACoFaF. I don't remember what I was expecting, but it was *not* to be ugly crying 20 minutes into the first episode in a way that I have only done for very few works of fiction. Words are failing me trying to express how profoundly beautiful the storytelling is and how special it feels to witness the incredible emotional intelligence that goes into depicting such lovable characters. This last episode had me sobbing uncontrollably on the ground for a "reveal" the audience knew was coming since episode 1. What a blessing to witness such great storytelling.
Spoilers:
SKIP THIS IF IT IS YOUR FIRST LISTEN SCROLL DOWN SPOILERS!!!!!! YOU HAVE BEEN WARNENEDED FOR SPOILIES Insane to hear Steel seemingly actively process that justification mechanism in front of Suvi. Wow.
Dang, relistening. Hopefully vaguely enough for newcomers... I am just now putting together the dichotomy of how Sir Curran emphasizes picking up the shield when saying that some knights falsely think honor is raising a sword. Steel "Sword of the Citadel" being described as resembling a knight by Brennan encourages Eursulon picking up his "sword".... Which is actually broom stick at the time of the episode.. heheh <3 Then inheriting Wave Breaker. Both shield and sword are needed for Eursulon which is... interesting. (:
On a re-listen and to avoid spoilers for end of book 1 I'll keep it vague but who told steel grandma wren was dying???
On a relisten after finishing book one and I think I just had my biggest "God damnit Brennen" moment listening to Steel be gracious and charming and all together likable upon meeting Eursulon.
Same and same
brennan lee mulligan when i catch you it’s on fucking sight okay
"what happened.... Please tell the truth" - Suvi 💔💔💔💔💔
"the choice they made, and it was a very brave choice, was to help the world and keep us all safe." - Steel End of book 4 spoilers below: . . . . . . . . . . . . . THEY. DID. NOT. CHOOSE. They did not CHOOSE to be "heros" over coming back to their daughter. They did not choose that, Steel. I'm sad and mad.
This is utterly diabolical on a relisten after Book One.
Ugh same! I found the public feed and didn’t want to interrupt the man story once I got on here so I saved it for after.
Came back from end of book 1 oh boy do I have feelings!
Hits different for sure
On relisten number 3. Brennan you absolute MONSTER
I cried more times than I care to say listening to the children’s adventure, especially in the latter half. It’s so so good man, very happy I decided to get the patreon before starting the podcast :]
Man on re-listen I gotta say that the entire children's adventure is really foreshadowing central.
Same! I wanna talk about it too but we cant do that here. I guess the discord or subreddit is for that.
Anyone else reparenting themselves w this series? No? Hahaha ha me neither 😭
This is my first ever listen through for anything WWW and all these comments talking about some hecken foreshadowing got me both spooked and excited. What have I gotten myself into. 🫣
just be careful in the fandom spaces so you can steer clear of spoilers! :) You have gotten yourself into A LOT
Listening to this before July 2025: 🥺🥺🥺🥺🥺🥺 Listening to this after July 2025: 🤐🫣🥴😰😠☠️
Well this one hits different now, doesn't it 😵💫
Coming back to the Children’s Adventure after Recent Events™️ and 😭😟😩😤😭 We’re different now.
Exactly what I just decided to do 😂
listening to this during work was a bad idea, I'm just crying while doing math 😭 it hurts more knowing what's to come
When I started this podcast some months ago, I knew I would eventually join the patreon and listen to this, but I didn't quite imagine....... I didn't quite imagine... simply 💙
These children… their sorrow has become my sorrow
The amount of tragedy that wrecked and shattered my heart ❤️ that I willingly sat through. oh my fucking lord. Hats off. 👏 💋 😘 I can't wait to start the actual campaign now.
Joined the Patreon for the Children's Story before I dove into the main story (BEST $5 I ever spent). Stayed for the fireside chats (WAY more fun than I ever thought they'd be). Now I'm sharing the Children's Story with my adult daughter. We are sobbing together. <3 Also, I am noticing sooooo much foreshadowing this time thru. I hate you Brennan <3 Thank you ALL for this (and all the other) amazing stories! We are with you for the long haul.
I'm glad I decided to listen to this on my day off and not at work tomorrow because I am fully sobbing right now as I water my plants. I wish I had known about this early enough to listen through the Children's Adventure before I started the main story.
Such a somber feeling at the beginning of this episode, as we know the truth of Suvi’s life moving forward.
Devastating. Thank you so much.
This has entirely convinced me that I need TTRPG group therapy to heal my inner child.
This whole childrens adventure broke my heart and healed a bit of my inner child. Phenomenal storytelling, on all parts❤️
I joined the patrons purely to listen to this storey before I start the podcast and it's the best 5 bucks I've ever spent. And the most emotionally devastated I've ever been. Thankyou.
I am so unbelievably jealous that I have already listened to everything. I hope you love this story as much as I do. It's the best
me and my parental issues could not handle the last scene I kept all my tears inside (miraculously) before that and I thought I'd got through it I was feeling so smug and confident and then you really said "children like you" and I was a kid again lmao thank you for that <33 fr though this was a work of art and makes every reference to the summer they had as kids in the main campaign so much more beautiful and painful and everything all at once
It’s truly always the moment that gets me :(
Astounding story.
Joined the Patreon for the children's adventure (and of course to support our wonderful party and DM) and I am devastated. This is phenomenal.
I'm not ugly crying, you're ugly crying
This was absolutely gorgeous and honestly a key reason I bought the patreon in the first place because I kept hearing the children’s adventure referenced and needed to know…WELL worth the price this was phenomenal and I’m sobbing
Knowing now what Ames parents did I am even more convinced in my headcanon now that Ame is a trans girl...
I am completely wrecked. That was just amazing.
crying in the club right now
These shallots are really potent
I started crying at the grocery store
I'm absolutely sobbing, it was just so beautiful
Hey gang, I’m devastated in the best way. Thank you for that.
Hullo from another re-listen! It's SO interesting to hear a "softer" version of Steel and I can't help but think about how much changes over the years as the war effort continues and Steel's role changes.
I listened to arc 1, decided to get the patreon and listen to the children's adventure. I knew what would happen, and I still sobbed the whole time. 😭 They're building such a wildly incredible story and I can't wait to listen to the rest.
Crying in the library, incredible 5 stars
Listening to this after Arc 2 and the fireside. Makes everything hit harder. Glad I get to enjoy the next Arc with all this context.
Just fuckin rip my heart out every damn episode why dontcha oh my god >-\o
37:22 i had forgotten this moment. amazing
Man this hits different after arc 3
I didn't hear the children's adventure before and looped back after arc 3. Master storytellers all. True friends indeed.
I’m ………… devastated. Y’all played these children with such care and respect for their emotional lives and captured a very truthful glimpse at the sweetness of innocence and kids with big hearts who make fast friends and how cruel it feels to watch that innocence die. Great job you created many tears 👍
On a relisten, Suvi responding to the news of her parents death with a voice cracking "okay" is just tears my heart apart
Tears, just tears. Ame's parents, such a tragedy. This tale is littered with hope and friendship. Crying again, 66&$_+
Thank you for this beautiful story
Every time I re-listen, the closer we get to the last episode the more my ugly crying starts to ramp up. With Suvi leaving, Eurselon feeling lost, Ame and her family. Oh man. Anytime I need to cry I know where to come back to.
Listening through this arc again and catching all the times Amé said “when I go home” leading up to these last few minutes. 😭😭😭
"Our song" 😭
this littlebig adventure feels like the movies and books you had as a kid that only mean more as time goes through 🖤
This was so EPIC. I absolutely love this story and these kids 😭 Thank you all for taking us on this adventure with you! ✨
This stabbed me in every single one of my squishy feels. Rude.
I just finished listening to the children’s arc for my first time and wow did this move me to tears so much. Seriously tremendous storytelling. This is prestige storytelling and now I need to relisten to the whole storyline!!!
I don't remember the last time a piece of media has made me cry, and this children's adventure has made me weep every other episode. The love seeps through every pore of this story. Masterfully done <3
In bits
I had to wait months, because I knew this podcast was going to be too good for my soul to listen to it at the wrong time. Now that I'm catching up, I'm glad I left it for a time when I feel more able to appreciate all the nuance. Thank you. The children's story was healing for me.
I have never cried so much during a podcast
"I try to keep a lot of good snacks...." You are so very good at this...
SOBBING the children's adventure warms my heart at the same time breaks it. What a joy <3
My partner and I have been slowly working our way through the children's adventure and, ughhhh, this left us sobbing.
I'm ugly crying. Face scrunched up, nose sniffling. I can't. I just can't. Why are you so determined to make all of us cry???? This is such good story telling.
It's crazy how yall are just allergic to joy and peace😭
I'm crying at work thanks to this and I could not be happier!
£5 to get emotionally wrecked, money well spent
I paid money to be emotionally eviscerated and loved and sobbed every second UGH my HEART
Omg people. This is what D&D should be.
Best $5 I've ever spent
My heart is aching. So sad and so good!
Just finished the children’s adventure in tears, I’ve really gotten attached to these adorable children because y’all are truly some of the best storytellers!!! Can’t wait to get into the main campaign <3
"There's an emptiness in Eursolon as he stands in a clearing and wonders what it'll take to find or feel the sort of fullness he knew, or if that's just gone." On my third, maybe fourth relisten, and STILL this just... guts me
Finally got around to listening to the children's story. Sobbed through half of it. Did Brennan edit out his crying or does he have no emotions? 🤣 Damn that was intense and fantastic
Omg 😭😭😭
MISBEGOTTEN SON OF A LEPEROUS DONKEY, ARE THE BBEGs WARLOCKS OF SHADOW FEY TRAVELLER FKRS!?!?
This has absolutely been worth the price if admission. Thank you for this!
The amount I have cried at this episode is UNREAL. I cannot believe that this exists for people to hear, and that it took me so long to get here.
I have never heard a more devastating statement then, 'you're parents WERE,' :'(
The tears I cried during this. So so so so so good. My heart
This was such a fun listen, especially since I found you all late, and listened to arc 1 first. What incredible foundations laid here 🙏🏾
Absolute heartwrenching episode. This adventure was so sweet and so moving. Having this and the first arc complete there is this joy in listening to the story of these kids and young adults that in ways feel so similar to my own emotions that I have experienced and I can't help but feel my heart breaking for this characters. I can't wait for the second arc and see where they go and grow.
Something about the fact that Lou is 100% not doing a child's voice AFTER having done Pinocchio is so hilarious to me.
Listened to the main series free, then had to become a patron so I could hear this. Absolutely amazing and beautiful, thank you!
Absolutely incredible series, you guys. Just 10/10. Perfect. I teared up at least once an episode, which isn't something I usually do. Can't wait to move on to the main campaign now
Why did I listen to this one at work, dear God.
I'm about to do the same and I'm both very excited and very worried
I cried 4 times last night and once this morning. This is the highest honor I can give to the ENTIRE cast of WBN. Well done, very well done.
Not even finished with the episode yet and I cried for like 15 minutes. Oh my goodness, you guys rock!!
Its such a common trope, Harry Potter, Luke Skywalker, etc. It has never hit me as hard and realistically as this.
Well I'm traumatised :D
I want a Brennan character around to give me all my future tragic news. It’s such a warm and wholesome way to hear devastating things.
So we're wondering if we should run this with our nieces who are 10 and 11 to see how real children choose. We might dial down on the trauma though haha. We're right now in the middle of a homebrew with them and they are for sure DnD geeks!
I'm just catching up and honestly it's so validating seeing that we're all suffering together lol. My poor heart 😭😭😭😭
I need the mechanics used for this expanded session 0
dont mind me, just a boy cryin' on the subway
No that's fine, I didn't need my HEART TODAY 😭😭😭
I just literally sobbed my entire way through the bench scene. 🙃🥲😭
A rare occasion where I find myself happy to be crying. :*) Y'all do such beautiful world & character-building work.
Thank fuck for that butthead Taro on comic relief or this one would have done me in.
My goodness, what an incredible story and what incredible people who are telling it. Thank you for sharing this part of the story with us, and even for showing that it can be like this. I'm so exited to go and listen to the adventure that will follow when our wonderful friends reunite.
omg I have ugly cried in traffic so much today. I am grabbing my chest and openly weeping.
I am someone in my early 20s who is transitioning out of my childhood, and I’ve been feeling lost and disconnected from my past. This piece of art has truly healed a part of my inner child and I feel so connected to and deeply impacted by it. I’ve laughed, I’ve reflected, I’ve yelled at my phone pretending like the characters can hear me, I’ve celebrated, and I’ve definitely cried a lot, but mainly tears laced with bittersweet nostalgia and love. My most sincere thanks to everyone who has worked on this story, it has changed my life in a profound way <3
I’ve been sobbing this whole episode
lots of that here too.
crying in the car right now, what an incredible adventure!
Of course, it's D&D; everyone gets a tragic backstory. Still, did you need to crack my chest open and shred my heart so spectacularly?! Yeah, you did, I know, I had to live it with them.
I really love this story and these characters so so much, I feel ya
Hiding in the bathroom at work to cry.
I was listening at work too, tried really hard not to cry around people but I couldn't not, so I did the same thing lol <3
I’ve never been more emotionally destroyed in my life. And this is just the session 0? Insanity.
I am not okay. I am NOT okay. I am NOT OKAY. I AM NOT OKAY.
Offers arms for crying into
Oh the feels and the feeling of just take them all and wrap them all in fuzzy blankets with Hot Chocolate and tell them that everything will be ok...ugh...the feels
This isn't even the main campaign! I shouldn't be crying this hard!
Beautiful, sad. Brilliant. Thank you for sharing these stories.
I happen to listen to this episode on the day of a thunderstorm, and so as Suvi and Ame try to restore grandmother Ren, rain is dumping and thunder is roaring all around me, adding to the deepening of the atmosphere
god. just. ugly sobbing. this whole children's adventure has been so beautiful and perfect... endless thanks to the cast and crew for this masterpiece
truly sobbing. thank you, aabria, erika, brennan, lou, taylor, casey. everyone involved.
Maybe an unpopular opinion, but I found Ame’s story to be the most tragic. She’s always trying to be happy and doing so much for the other two. Kind of like the friend who is always carrying the emotional baggage for everyone else? I just found the ending to be so damn sad.
There's definitely some sorrow in being the stalwart friend.
oh GOD what are you four DOING to us...
wow this one ripped my heart out y'all what a fantastic story
Dear God...i am SOBBING I still have 5 hours in my work day wtf 😭😭
Absolutely broke at “These are my true friends. Like you and mum.” 🥺 This whole children’s adventure is beyond beautiful.
“ what to do with children like you” hit too hard for this neurodivergent child. Full tears and emotional damage!
The orchestration with the stuff happening in this episode has NO RIGHT to make me feel these EM*TIONS.
Full on ugly crying at my desk. Good grief. Excelsior.
I fell asleep with a few tears in my eyes after listening to this last night. It's so beautiful. Thank you - I can't wait to continue listening to these characters' stories!
Damn guys, I’m full on crying at work listening to this
Good. God. Y'all. This is still prelude? Character creation?
Oh boy. You guys. My broken heart.
Ahhhhh. I cried way to much today. So fantastic. What a wonderful prequel to everything. NOW TO LISTEN TO THE ACTUAL SHOW. YAY
I've laughed. I've cried. I've listened to the prelude multiple times. This is amazing. Thank you ❤️
Brennan at the end with “let’s get lunch!” has me picturing the whole wbn crew strolling into a sandwich shop with everyone all tear-stained, and Brennan just grinning lol
There's nothing more comforting when finishing a story like this than the knowledge that there's going to be a whole ass adventure with these characters for many years still to come. 💜
Both Brennan and the party is a master storyteller... the push and pull of the emotional moments in tandem with the players is INCREDIBLE. This hurt, but I cannot wait to see these babies grow <3
"They made something easier by taking all the fun out of it" OW
This episode made me cry so much!!!! Gosh
I can't BELIEVE how much this mini arc made me cry! Just beautiful. I know I'll be coming back to listen to this again and again. I'm a patron for as long as you will have me!
Listened to the entire Children’s Adventure while sick with Covid. The childlike nostalgia really hit the spot and has made me feel extra cozy and comforted. I really needed a good story.
Ok. I teared up in this one.
So as I sit here weeping at the end of the Children's Adventure and Brennan says, "Let's get lunch," I find myself wishing the sauteed mushrooms had come up in an earlier episode so they could have planned a mushroom feast.
This one hurt in the most beautiful and bittersweet of ways
I'm not sure which of the three got the short end of the stick as kids. Tears all around & looking forward to their adult adventures! 4 of my most favorite rp'ers, gamers, and storytellers! 😭💕
😭
Seriously beautiful, wow, all the feels.
Had to unfortunately cancel my Patreon. This podcast, while beautiful is too hard to listen to as a hard of hearing person. The music being the exact same level as the voice is way too much load for me to listen to, especially when the actors are speaking in hushed tones.
I have the same problem! They seriously need to fix the sound mixing
I will not
I will not
To cross a line space - incredibly dangerous - correct, but you'll try (fully weeping at this beauty and fully realized nature of this set of moments in time. Thank you so much.)
A beautiful end to the intro adventure
“Thank you for being my family.” 😭😭😭
This kind of feels like how someone would get when they graduate. When school (high school and college) comes to an end. It feels as though it is the end of a journey/an era. That feeling of hoping that the friendships you have built up in that time will last; but not knowing if they will and not knowing if you will see them again. I going to be so happy when they finally come back together again. Which feels insane in the best way possible as I am deeply invested in this emotionally.
Listening to this, raking the path in my garden, as summer is ending (here in Australia) made this INCREDIBLY touching, bittersweet, perfectly crafted story even more magical ✨ “Whatever you give a part of yourself to, gets to keep that part of you,” - as a maker/creative and as someone that has lost people i love, this really soothed my soul. 💗 Every time I think I’ve seen you all do your best work, you top it again and create something even more profound!! Ughhh I love y’all magic story wizards 😭
oh gosh I'm crying so much
How DARE you, I'm crying so much. Ame sweetie. oh my fucking god. It's a lilac day indeed.
Also. The subtle ways Brennan reassures the players when they roleplay the characters not giving themselves enough credit or playing down their own achievements, I just know he's going to be a great dad.
the danger of enjoying an AP podcast with Brennan is that the chance of you sobbing in the dunkin drive thru is low, but never zero
We stan a sad kid summer.
This campaign was amazing. I really loved the fact that there were no Fights, that took up too much space in the narrative, but just really progressive roleplay. I know the main campaign will be a more "traditional" actual play experience and I am kinda saddened by that, but still excited for it. Tomorrow I am gonna listen to Episode 1: "The open Door". Can't wait, but I will never forget the children adventures.
Oh no openly weeping at work to this... I should have known all of the children's story eps have made me a little teary.
Shocked to learn I never want the children's adventures to end.
Listening to this at work was a MISTAKE
Oof! Yeah. I should have read your comment before listening to this at work.
I really hope the party gets to adopt a child NPC. I will never get enough of Brennan's children NPCs and guidance of children PCs. It's like if Maurice Sendak was a DM.
This was one of the most magical experiences of my life. Truly. Like watching a Studio Ghibli movie for the first time ever, absolutely transportive.
Ame goes from 7 years old to a well adjusted 30 year old in a summer. She’s a witch fr 🤣
Just wanted to say - thanks for doing the transcripts! On days when I'm not driving much or can't hear the podcast to catch up, it's awesome to be able to read with the voices correct in my head to catch up.
Do you see the transcript up? Cause I certainly don't so I feel like I'm going insane reading your comment.
Stop making me cry at work! <3 <3
So many tears!! “I try to keep good snacks”…
Why do ya’ll gotta play with my emotions like this, I’m ruined.
I’ve never been so sad and happy at the same time. It’s therapeutic. I love this story. I love these kids. You all have done such a wonderful job bringing this to us. It’s beautiful. Thank you!
Actually beautiful. Like in no way hyperbolic this was genuinely art. I cannot wait for the main adventure.
Ame giving Suvi the little smelling jar and Erika explaining what it smells like has me turned into the guy pulling off his headphones meme
You are amazing storytellers. There is truly a magic that moves between you all- thank you for sharing your magic with us. #magickeepers
This whole series straddles the line of melancholy and warmth so well, definitely my new favorite actual play
I love these children with my hole heart and can't wait to see what they become. This was amazing. It made me laugh and cry and both at the same time. You all are soooo amazing.
This entire series has elicited such an emotional response from me but this last episode really had the tears flowing. It reminded me so much of childhood, the adventures in the woods and growing with friends. And that last goodbye we gave to each other as we set off into the world. Thank you Brennan, Aabria, and Erika for such a beautiful story. I know it’s only the beginning but this has really found it’s way to the softest parts of my heart.
I'm not crying youre crying
Not this episode making me cry at work at 10am
Me rn
Is there any update as to when the transcript will be released?
crying with y’all. thanks for the good cry!
These were absolutely amazing. I can not wait to see where this story goes from here!
I am destroyed. 😭😭😭😫 every moment is so fucking beautiful.
Took my time with the kids adventure and I'm so glad I'm here for this. All of you are just fantastic. Cannot wait to see where all of this leads.
man fuck y’all
(this story is beautiful and wonderful and i can’t wait to see what else happens in future stories but also there is snot running down my face and how do i explain this to my therapist)
Love the podcast so much. The worst part is waiting for the next episode! Great work guys!
the children's adventure broke my heart and made me laugh and got me to enjoy doing my own chores. i can tell this is going to be my favorite podcast for years to come. thanks for the incredible story!!
I truly ugly cried at Steel’s explanation to Suvvi. “It’s not fair, and it makes me sad and mad” GOD
The moment when Ame realized the end of summer and all that entailed broke me, and from that till the end I was weeping big wet tears. You guys absolutely captured that special melancholy of growing up and having to part with friends you thought you'd be with forever.
Loved this! Can someone tell me, I thought I listened to all of the episodes but when did they get the sword? I heard the bit where Ame finds the bathtub, but not them getting the sword specifically?
In episode 7 they found the sword in the attic iirc
"thank you for being my family" 😭😭😭
that was just impossible not to binge omg what a wonderful beautiful story !!
STOP MAKING ME CRYYYY
I've never in my life of 32 1/2 years heard a story so full of heart and soul as this Children's Adventure. I can't wait to hear what comes after! 😭
“…okay.” 😭😭😭😭
I wish this summer would never end
I cried listening to this. Thank you so much for gift of this story. This podcast may be my new favorite RPG actual play thing I've ever heard, and I've been a fan of D20 and Critical Role for YEARS. The world feels so lived in, the characters so REAL. I love them, I love them. I can't wait to follow their story for years and years to come. Thanks for opening the door <3
this is so deeply beautiful. i have cried so many times but this episode had me sooobbing. you are all truly outstanding and have created something so special. i am so glad to have had the privilege of listening and experiencing it❤️
The way I would die for any one of these kids 💔❤️💔❤️
👏👏👏😭
I didn't cry listening to NADDPOD until the episode 100 finale. I didn't cry watching Dimension 20 until THAT episode of Crown of Candy. Here I am crying multiple times in the 8th episode of the BONUS show?? How dare you. Incredible
This has been an amazing mini series! I have laughed and cried so many times. The amount of anticipation I am feeling for the rest of these characters is amazing.
How do you mess with my emotions before the campaign proper even starts? Thank God for farm boy running on all fours so I can laugh and take a break from my sobbing.
This was so good. I've never seen anybody use D&D to tell a coming-of-age story before, let alone one so tender and heartfelt. I love how this has taken all of the starter D&D stats and equipment and given them this intense, emotionally freighted significance. Outstanding stuff. Dying to see where this series goes.
I knew what was coming with suvi’s parents and I still cried out all the moisture in my body
Can I also say how much I appreciate a group of performers who fully understand the impact and critical importance of silence in a performance? Taking a beat is one thing, but the way that the team takes time to process events is so real, plus it gives me time to spend in their heads - What must they be thinking? What emotions have suddenly sprung up inside them? What do I think they might do next? - and then be treated to either the pleasure of being right, or the pleasure of being surprised. Professional improvisationalismists (not a word) are so often prone to trying to fill every second, to be the quickest to respond with a joke, but I feel like Lou's description of Eursulon emerging from a full 60 seconds of group silence is demonstrative of why this group is so special. They understand the power of restraint in making abundance feel all the richer.
Credit also to Taylor for respecting the weight and impact of that silence and leaving it intact in the final cut
Absolutely beautiful work I am completely blown away with this start to the campaign and can’t wait to see what happens next!
This campaign has already broken me and I am somehow still asking for more. Absolutely incredible. Thank you for sharing The Children’s Adventure. I will treasure it always. ❤️
I just know getting attached to these characters this much is a mistake, Brennan is gonna do such incredible and terrible things to them
The snacks got me. I got got by snacks.
"I'm...sure that they did the best that they could." Just broke my little heart in a way I'm not sure it's been broken before. A little chip of my heart, slo-mo sparkling in a spotlight as it pings off into the dark, a tiny sob catching in my throat at this too-real unreal mutant-Pollyanna-child and her pure good soul. God damn. I have always wanted to be part of a group like this, but I never thought it was possible. I can't believe we're going to get YEARS of this.
Just amazing! I love how they all weave parts of the mechanics into narrative moments!
Me: A long-form campaign? Cool, it'll be a slow build, but I'm sure I'll get to like the characters eventually. Also me: Crying EVERY EPISODE OF THIS ADVENTURE AND THE FIRST ONE OF THE MAIN CAMPAIGN. There's talent and then there's talent and then there's this group.
Talent, trust, and openness. And in this, the greater risks, and greater payoffs.
I never expect dnd stories to impact me as hard as they do, but here I am at work, crying while listening
Y'all really out here making me sob at a children's story... A grown man in full-on tears at your freaking character creation itself... Beautiful story! I can't wait to see where it goes from here.
I somehow managed not to cry through the entire Children's Adventure until the "Spartacus" moment. It broke me :((
Incredible. Thank you so much for this <3
We ALL spartacus babeeyyy you love to hear it
Can i give them all a hug 😭
Question on behalf of someone who was sobbing this whole episode who is definetely not me: Who can we sue for emotional damages?
This children's adventure has such Studio Ghibli vibes- it's definitely the style that I picture when I am visualizing the story
This was such an amazing journey. I loved seeing how each of the characters grew, both in story and mechanically.
So y'all are just fine with making all of us cry, cool that's cool
You all have broken me. That last shard of my dark heart has shattered. Gods, what a damn journey of a prelude.

Love everything about this, except I will riot until the feeds are combined. I don't want two WBN podcasts listed in my feed I will lose it.
You guys, I'm a truck driver. I CAN'T BE SOBBING WHILE DRIVING DOWN THE INTERSTATE IT'S DANGEROUS!!!!!!
Fully sobbed thru this episode. 😭
During hard times, if the party ever fights with themselves, I will relisten to this. 😭
So I really am seeing this in my head as Ghibli. I almost picture Grandmother Wren as Ubaba's sister in Spirited Away. This adventure really feels like it could be a Ghibli plot and I see it so colorfully and it's so wholesome and heart wrenching.
Me too!!! I imagined her like a cross between Zaneeba and Sophie's (from Howl's Moving Castle) old form. 💙
This is one greatest pieces of story telling I've experienced.
First time seeing a children’s campaign and I don’t think it could have been done any better. I’m absolutely blown away! Thank you!
So is the main feed podcast not going to be posted here? I have to jump between Spotify and here to listen to it all? The children's adventure is amazing! I love having this context for the adult campaign.
Yes, the public feed won't be posted on patreon. I think it is because they want all of us superfans to help their ranking by downloading/streaming on Spotify, Apple, etc.
What a wonderful way to start😭😭😭❤❤❤
I almost don’t want to listen to the main campaign because this was perfection. Absolutely beautiful storytelling, amazing character choices, and so so satisfying to see the growth in each of them. Well done.
This was beautiful.
Episode one has been released, for those coming here to check for updates.
thanks
Where do we / best to assist with the transcript updates: Erika Ishii: [Inaudible 00:06:05]. <--- "It's a Nat 1." - The Wizard, the Witch, and the Wild One Children’s Adventure: Episode 03 (Version 0)
I need pics of Steel!
I wanna run a children's adventure now 🤣 what was the game mechanics?
I didn’t expect to cry listening to a podcast but here I am
Ooooooh my god this story is already part of me. It’s found a nook in my heart and it’s not letting go. Sooooooooo excited for the first official episode of their story!
been watching all the parts since i woke up, it’s 8:10 pm now, im supposed to just go on with my life after experiencing the most beautiful mini story—ever? in tears. More please.
I'm loving this. I can't wait to see the witch class once it gets released!!
Thanks for making me cry at work! 😭
I’m an absolute wreck now. Thank you.
I fully am crying and finishing the children's adventure.
On the bright-side, not having the main ep up yet gives me time to actually put some time into the Children's Campaign.
Can we at least get some kind of update on the status of the Episode 1 release please?
When does the main adventure drop? Is it today or that a different release? I'm finding it hard to get any specific answers about it from the socials and it's a bit frustrating. I feel like a post clearly stating When/Where would have been useful, and likely useful going forward. Feels like we have to chase information down atm.
I thought episode one was today. I’m confused. Maybe it is a specific time?
Wasn't expecting 8 episodes! Holy cow! This is wonderful
I hope Brennan releases a rules module or something for this type of character building campaign, it's a fascinating way to make a character.
Ok it just keeps coming what 😭 😊
Oh. happy, joy! And I'm on my way out to pick up my new noise-canceling buds. <3 Needed for other things - but yeah - pushed up the priority.
My god. There’s another?!?!
GUTWRENCHING OH MY GOD
Omg I was only expecting one episode. This is bountiful 😭💗💗
Man, Wednesday's are the BEST
🤩🤩
IT'S HERE! IT'S HEEEERRRRRE! FUCK ME UP
Blease I can't cry anymore
