(Patreon Exclusive) Solari Playlists + Kickstarter Updates
No Talkback this week!
Instead, we’re handing you the aux cord.
Before Solari began, the cast put together playlists full of the songs that helped them find their characters. And because Brennan cannot simply make a playlist and walk away, his comes complete with liner notes explaining his selections (attached below).
We’ve also got the musical inspiration our composer Will used when he was first dreaming up the sound of Solari, so you can hear a little bit of the sonic DNA that eventually became the score. Check out the attached liner notes from him, as well.
And let us know in the comments which character you're listening to on your drive to work, in the gym, or somewhere else! Happy jamming!
And don't forget to submit your burning questions for the Solari Arc 1 Talkback!
For those of you who backed the Kickstarter... please read the attached BACKER KIT UPDATE!

Robots on XL-ZL's playlist, Brennan Lee Mulligan you are a menace (affectionate)
oh man, In Your Eyes is such a good pull for XL-ZL. that song always leaves me feeling raw and tender in the best way. i’m sure Brennan knows this, but Peter Gabriel wrote it as intentionally existing in the space/ambiguity between romantic love and devotion to a higher power. which of course is just *chef’s kiss* here. ahh now i’m sad about robots and space and love.
So many great songs. But I'm honestly shocked pizzacato 5 didn't make it into the Chee's mix. I'd love to hear more about the mix process and what the WBN team left on the cutting room floor
Can we purchase things through the Backer Kit even if we didn’t make an original pledge? I couldn’t purchase before the end of the campaign and I am truly desperate to get some of the offered items and support this show.
Hey gang, can I please have some guidance on getting my backerkit survey? I emailed the email on the pdf and haven't received a response. I just wanna make sure I get my WWW stuff 😭
The Worlds Beyond Number crew aren't running the Kickstarter. Skybound is running it. Skybound has done a terrible job and it seems like a ton of people don't know what's going on, haven't received Backerkit invites, and haven't gotten responses to email inquiries. I'm concerned this will reflect poorly on Worlds Beyond Number, when it isn't their fault.
As a Kiwi, I appreciate XL-ZL's use of Flight of the Conchords
Janelle Monae on XLZL's Playlist JUST makes sense 😍
Submission for XL-ZL: Truth of Pursuit - Sarah Kinsley “I felt the sea and now I’m standing in the drain, Going against all logic and DNA, But I want the flood of you back in my veins. Turned my life upside down for a face, I did it all for one embrace, For a kiss in the rain, For you to just slip away, Oh, I wanna feel alive like I did, like I used to, And oh, go on and do what you like, ‘Cause I’m in pursuit of the feeling of you. It’s the truth of pursuit x 3”
I see it as -M grieving being one, singing this in longing to their Choir
No Spotify - would you please post the track lists for Z and Chee? Would love to listen but idk what tunes
hearing these reframed how i’m imagining the scenes now, before it was more cartoon/sci-fi-starwars-real, where as now it is like “Zima Blue” style or matte, shapey, papery style.
Ending out XL-ZL's playlist with FotC's Robots is wonderfully diabolical. 🤖 💀
I thought the same thing. I'll be interested to see the big reveal on what happened to the humans that colonized the Chema system. I hope we get some kind of reveal, anyway.
For the reward does active and in good standing mean paid or is a free membership ok?
paid!
big thank you to folks who transferred the playlists for us non-spotify peeps! 🙏🏻
Adding links for Apple Music Listeners to this comment as I piece them together! (A few songs missed on Will's playlist, otherwise I don't think I missed any others!)

ohhh I2I is a banger, nice pull from Brennan
appreciation post for playlists and insight into creative thought/process♥️🙏
Chee Tan'ka and Killer Queen, yes! Love the playlists, but Chee Tan'ka with so many easy wins.
Updates! Damn this was fast
Anyone else on Qobuz? I'm going to attempt to copy the playlists over there too
Amellabeth has shared qobuz links in another comment (just in case anyone sees this before theirs)
I use Apple Music if anyone has transferred the playlists there!
Working on it right now, links coming shortly!
I see Lou's enjoyment of the Mass Effect soundtracks. Hell yeah. Def giving this a listen.
Will Sovino may have just made the best work/study playlist on the planet
Love the XL-ZL liner notes, except listing by song then artist. I've always hated that style, and I know I'm not alone in that. I'm guessing that copy and paste from Spotify comes out like that though. Otherwise *skin crawling shivers*
Edit: Filled in all (most?) gaps and added link for Savino's playlist. For Qobuz users. Please note, there are several gaps on Erika's playlist due to the tracks being unavailable in Qobuz's library. I will eventually get to Will Savino'a inspo list, but I'll have to wait until later in the day. Also, thanks for the music drops and liner notes! It's been a pleasant thing to have in the background while I work. Ty so much for this. My hat goes off to you kind stranger!
Lmao I understand Use Me by bill Withers is more abt the sentiment then the vibe but now I’m just imagining a Sexy Jazz XL-ZL in like a Fedora and Simulating whiskey flavor
I am soo losed in teh solari canpsign 😭. is this teh prelude and what charater is touching funny style? help 😭
Lou's playlist for Z starting with a mass effect song 😚👌
All playlists really ought to come with liner notes so Brennan is doing exactly what he should be doing.
I just read the backer kit survey stuff and it didn’t say anything about the Be Kind pin. Did I imagine it? I thought if you were a patron subscriber you would get a free pin added to the order. Just want to know for sure if I need to add that pin to my order now or not
see Pg 8 of the attachment on this post. You'll get the pin.
Impossible by Darren Korb? Someone does happen to know ball…
Acropolis Falls by Disasterpeace too. Definitely knows ball 🙂↕️🙂↕️🙂↕️
Just as with the WWW playlists, Erica absolutely killing it at picking tracks that I absolutely love. Although, huge shout out to Lou and the Mass Effect tracks
Any chance of a text list of the songs for those of us who don't stream?
I was thinking same. Maybe someone can post on the fireside channel on Discord?
These liner notes are 🔥 haha
In my opinion, there's at least one song for each character on Deltron 3030's self titled album. Such a banger.
Couldn’t agree more. Perfect blend of sci fi and absurd/abstract for this campaign
Oh, yay! I love these playlists. Thank you for sharing. Brennan's liner notes made me think of Franny Choi's book of poems "Soft Science." Might be of interest?
Also, thank you so much for a wonderful first arc. It'll be wonderful to hear more in the future!
Ah yes now I will be perpetually on edge until I get the backerkit email 😬😅
Many Moons for XL-ZL!!! YEAHHHHHH!!! 🤖 (listening to his while i continue my quest to be the world’s #1 eirynna ass fan artist)
I wasn't ready for the "on the scale of 1 to 7" reference in the liner notes. A perfect 7, no criticisms
As Tank finished playing and I saw Killer Queen coming up, my mind went straight to Yoshikage Kira and now I'm rewatching JoJos THANKS ERIKA xD
Commenting just to recommend Space and Time by S.G. Goodman. XL-ZL’s birth into the choir vibes hard with the feeling I get when listening to it.
I use TIDAL instead of Spotify 🥺🥺🥺
Give me like 10 minutes, I'm working on transferring the links now. I also use tidal but I maintain a free Spotify account for stuff exactly like this.
