WBN Song of the Summer Remix Competition

Who won???!?

Was a winner ever determined? I wanna listen to the victor!

Soooooo we tryina do this every month or what 👀👀👀

Oof, that's some overall *tough* competition. Good job y'all! Can't wait for the "award ceremony."

I love that Dain included Aabria’s lil squeak of joy

Aran spitting bars & I *adore* the syncopation on “part of a set” beyond all reason

KRISTA. You made this track slap harder than the sound bite had any right to. Kudos on the daft punk vibes

It will be an absolute honour to lose to Krista and ‘The Power is in Everything’

There are so many good ones!

Downloaded a ton of my favorites THE POWER IS IN EVERYTHING from Krista is absolutely phenomenal!

Honestly feel inextricably tethered to everyone now, sending love 💖 really want an Artists Beyond Number chat for future collabs and stuff, does that make any sense Taylor? Also, am I crazy for wanting to do a 5 min interview w every willing artist? 😅 Just so engrossed by the butterfly effect of everyone’s choices!! 🦋

I think a nice fish slurry is in order for all the fine contributors.

So many of these mixes are just instantly iconic

Holy bujesus, the list just about doubled in size with all the final entries

Has anyone made a Playlist of the entries yet? This is A LOT of links to go through

Panda parkes is the artist the remix is Y’all gotta relax

I think my top three are the power is in everything, panda parke, and animal power (final)

Haven't finished but so far I'm digging Colin's: Every Line is the Same (WBN Remix)

alright y'all. we did it. !!!!! if no one objects i'll happily do a ~80-minute metamix of these and put it up somewhere as a FLAC, MP3 and (best of all) burnable CD-R. will probably try to organize via spreadsheet in the next few days. qs for submitters will be (at least): 1. do you opt in? (obv) 2. i'll need to do at least some level balancing. do you opt in for (in rare cases) a possible dash of eq or compression to smooth things out track-to-track a little more? (will always take a light touch) if you prefer 100% identical to your submission except for level adjustment that's fine too! 3. everybody will get link/credit info (obv), what do you want yours to be? 4. can i get a FLAC? a wonderful album artist already stepped forward on the discord. wbn, DM me here or on my bandcamp if you have any thoughts or would like me to stand down? really looking forward to listening to the final batch!!! (ED: another absolute bangermobile)

Colin's hot drop: Every Line is the Same (WBN Remix) is my new jam for life

So good everyone! Love Colin’s, Leonard’s — and Aran’s especially 💛💟🖤— but wow. What a dope set of remixes, yall are so creative! 😁😁

Conspiracies-Aran = 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥

goshdarnit, I read the deadline as 12 am not pm. i'm soo mad sad right now.

Good luck everybody!

Dang looks like I missed the boat on this :( But wow I had no idea how many musically inclined folks were part of the wbn fanbase! I made a Tommy Shriggly remix a few months back and learned a ton about building a track around soundbites - what a fun idea for a competition!

I'm sad I couldn't get mine done in time! Please host another competition sometime soon because I really think I could do something with quotes from all of Lou's guests🤔

last call pack 'em in everybody

I cannot express how tempted I was to just submit crazy frog

dear lord this was fun. Everyone did great! <3

We should watch these and vote together like Eurovision bc it's too many to get through alone 😂

Just finished and submitted mine! I wish I had seen this post sooner, but still. It's really cool (but not surprising) to see how many creative people are here.

So, are we making an “Artists Beyond Number” discord, or what?

What the heck? Someone just bought my remix on bandcamp??? Y'all are way too nice! Loving the submissions from everyone else, super happy to be here. :)

Omg these are all bangers and every one of you are amazing

Absolutely delighted by the lore included with "At The Last Dance Club In Haverward" in addition to the excellent remix. :D

The amount of positivity in this thread and the amount of talent in the submissions so far is amazing. I've been fiddling around teaching myself fl studio for the past year. I really like the remix I made for this contest, but there are so many entries that just blew me away! I feel like i got a lot to learn but i feel so inspired by all the other entries to keep it up, keep practicing and get better and better. Thank you WBN for giving us this fun and silly contest that ended up genuinely inspiring me 😭❤️

Just scrolling through the names has me geeked out

FUCK yeah, Aran!

In no world did I imagine almost a full hour of grooving out to such an eclectic constellation of idiosyncratic intonations 🎼 I Fucking Love This Fandom 💃🏻

These are all so good! I just happened to buy my first MIDI controller a few weeks ago, and this got me to actually use it to make my first song, so thanks y'all!

To anybody seeing this outpouring of incredible talent and getting intimidated or discouraged- make the thing. Make it, and send it. Come and be part of this with us.

Bangers across the board! I’m just happy to be heard, thanks comrades!

🔥 So incredibly fun and humbling to even be in the mix and see everyone else’s totally unique choices!! 😋 Also waiting on @onrchst ‘s comp CD, it can live in my visor next to my (written in sharpie) Kill Bill soundtrack 🚗🎶 Also, so down to collab with others and get more cross-pollination going!! The enthusiasm has just been infectious 🦠 we should make an artists chat ☺️

Leonard's got my vote, behind me of course, MUHAHAHAHA :P great work everyone!

So much talent it’s hard to pick a top three let alone winner 🤩 How do you plan to announce the winner and their prize? Might I suggest a livestream to help tide us over until the next WBN instalment?

I'm so mad I didn't see this sooner, just posted my remix tho!

Dain’s hot drop is my front runner but these are all incredible

Ok John Cooney, Noah Carlin, and Colin (dot.darkness) are definitely the standouts for me!

Yall these are all so much fun! Taylor & Co good luck picking a winner out of this absolute barrel of bangers 🔥🛢️🔥

All of these are incredible. 🔥 I have never laughed so hard. 😂

This is so much silly fun! Y'all are hilarious. I just got done listening to all the entries so far, and my favorite has gotta be Dain's hot drop: Put It In The Box (Suvirin Kedberiket Beats To Classify Witches To Ultramix Presented By Citadel XM). There's something so satisfying about leaving Aabria's laughter in the mix, and it's a banger track besides. :D

I am so honored to get mentioned and to have not taken it seriously at all! I hope you all enjoyed brennan the bard's newest set

these are all AMAZING 🤩

batch 2 is absolutely wall to wall with turbobangers ante up: if we hit 60 minutes total runtime i will absolutely volunteer to sequence/mix/levelmatch a burn-your-own cd version, if those involved bless the idea. imo music this good needs to be a PHYSICAL OBJECT stored in a CD HOLDER behind a SUN VISOR in somebody's 2007 HONDA CIVIC

Lawd, how do you even pick the winner?!?

While everyone's was great, my favorite was BLeeM Drizzy

I need some of these on spotify I'm serious

Listening to these after the pop out is wild. The energy of unity plus fun! Y’all got it! Thank you for putting everything into one post and adding all the hyperlinks!!

I’ve been experiencing pretty bad writers block for the past few months, and making a remix was such a fun and different approach. Thanks to WBN and all the composers/producers for the inspiration/motivation!

Holy cow! That's incredible so many people have put their whole everything into this, it brings a tear to my eye 😭

This is all so good all of you are so good

Submitted one and went as hard as I could! (It's up there now as Leonard's Hot Drop)

I’m really enjoying the variety of mixes here! We’ve got a lot of different musical types represented and that’s very cool

what hath the fortunate horse wrought i have enjoyed every one of these! (but the few that are offline :( ? ED: just checked and it's just Julia's ED ED: fixed!!! don't sleep on this one y'all) just threw my own brick into the edifice of what i assume will be a 70+ track CD compilation by next week

Awesome contest! Awesome submissions! This may have been answered already, but is there any sort of space for musical Fireside Folk to exchange their works?

Y'all are far too powerful. Colin and Dain, hot damn.

Just submitted mine. Thanks for giving me the opportunity to fuck with Brennan's voice and make dank trap lol. This was so fun to do :-D All the entries are GREAT, everyone is so talented.

Well, as an old white dude who plays classic rock bass, I am clearly outclassed by all the young'uns who know what the kids are into today - and I love hearing all of it! It was a fun experience for me, and a chance to play around with some music I don't really know. Thanks so much for making this a thing!

Colin's hot drop and Brian's hot drop for me

My favourites have got to be: Colin's hot drop: Every Line is the Same (WBN Remix) and Dain's hot drop: Put It In The Box (Suvirin Kedberiket Beats To Classify Witches To Ultramix Presented By Citadel XM)! Great job everyone!

All of these are great in a weird, experimental way, but "Put It In The Box" (Suvirin Kedberiket Beats To Classify Witches To Ultramix Presented By Citadel XM) is my absolute favorite.

Dain and Cordele fucked me up! Go off 👑

Dain???? My GOD

The fact that Taylor didn't set this to Crazy Frog shows how much he loves Brennan

Yea s.k. / Skew Field, you literally need to put that on Spotify 🔥🔥 really ingenious work, it’s the only one I’d play unironically 💛😋

kinda wanna submit a track kinda don't wanna give my address out on the internet EDIT: yk what here it is pro bono https://on.soundcloud.com/fuchqzof4ayP7F9K7

These are all INCREDIBLE, crackle crackle to all the entrants 🔥

S.k’s slaps so hard

Ope didn’t upload mine yet, just submitted it!! 😁🥳 like my 5th time making music and definitely 1st time making a remix, really hope y’all like it!!! ❤️‍🔥 (Also fave so far are Skew Field’s and Colin’s, they go HARD AF love it lol) Edit: Oh here’s mine, if anyone wants an early peek: https://youtube.com/shorts/UG44tr92EL4

Ah yes my new ringtone

Bangers!! top to bottom! 🤘🏾🥳

These are all COMPLETELY amazing, I am so happy people are sending them in

So far, BLeeM Drizzy, Beats to Classify Witches to, and Hawt Coco Flip are my favs, but I'm so impressed with everyone's work!

I'm so excited to hear what people come up with.😆

Also loving the fact that it seems like many people had veeeeeeery similar ideas to me based on the titles lol

Wow, someone else with my name beat me to it 🤣🤣

they're all bloody brilliant. glad i don't have to pick a winner

This sample was the push to get me back into music-ing! Can we do multiple entries? I have a normal song and a goofy one that needs to be heard

Sampling Brennan as an instrument, Bout to make this DM into his own genre :p

Fun fact: started working on a remix approx. 0.001ms after hearing Brennan go off and I'm too attached to the sound of Aabria laughing in the background to use the clean stems 😂 Anyhow, just submitted, thanks for making this an official contest so I can justify my lunacy — can't wait to hear everyone's takes!

I don't remotely have the time to teach myself sound mixing for this, but I do want to share my brainworms in the hopes that somebody will take that Mystery Prize picture and recreate the vine meme: "Who's that Pokemon?" "IT'S PIKACHU!" [Reveal the fox drawing and play Brennan introducing the Fox] "A little fox!" "FUUUUUUCK"

I'm excited to see what happens with this

Thank you in advance to any of you who take this challenge on 🥳🤣

Oooo Taylor I been cookin’, hope you like this one 🥘🔥😋 true story though, I’ve been teaching myself music since the winter after getting inspired by you becoming a musical god overnight through sheer will—so thanks for that and the chance to send a tune back your way!! 💛

When this dropped at the end of the fireside, I went into a manic episode. Taylor you mad man lol.

How exciting! I just submitted my remix, can't wait to see everyone else's work!

I really wish I could do anything with music

can i feature lil john or the ying yang twins?

Can not wait to hear the results

Can I clarify the meaning the meaning of "Original Compositions and Remixes"? Does that mean you have the option to do a pre-existing piece of music, provided that it is entirely your arrangement without pre-existing samples other than Brennan's Rap?

I can’t wait to hear these 😂wonder if any WBN characters will get features 🤭🫶🏼🙌🏽

Question: would it be okay to post our submission to Spotify? And if so, do we just credit BLeeM as an artist and writer? 😂

Can't wait to see the results

Never have I ever been more grateful that I’ve been learning about music production! This will be fun!

Should I have listened to this before actually listening? Perhaps. Perhaps not. Despite that, I am a changed person

Submitted my remix it was a lot of fun, Brennan should be the front man of a band or rap group fr

is the prize a real life fox?

What have we done.

It definitely top ten bars of the year. But unfortunately I think you are a bit wrong in saying it's the hottest one of the season. That spot undoubtedly belongs to just about any bar on Kendrick Lamar's Not Like Us

What would you say this bpm is?? Asking for me

Uh ohhh, bouta hear some HEATERS 👀

With absolutely no experience... *googles how to make a remix*

Unfortunately my skills fall squarely in the technologically-incompetent classical musician camp, but very excited to see what people do with this!!

I get just a little bit behind & bam, musical consequences

The librarians on here will go feral with categorization

I’m fully dead

Oh I’m about to go off

Can't wait to hear what everyone does. It will surely be a cacophony of epic proportions

Question : does omegaverse count as offensive content for these rules??

More like Fools Beyond Number. You have no idea what sleeping giant you've awoken.

Oh damn I love this too much and wish I had the skills to contribute. Can't wait to hear all of them!

This whole contest is dangerous and irresponsible. The combined power of these remixes is going to make the concept of categorization sound TOO cool and our entire society will devolve into an early 2010s dystopian YA hyper-categorized nightmare

I’ll take the case.

Where the youtube music playlist?

I have no talent or skill in this field, but if the drop doesn't happen with "get on your knees" then no one else does either.

I hope this begins a new tradition for WBN

This is incredible. I have never wanted musical ability more than I want it now.

Oh HELL yeah

This is great 🎉🕺 Need a cast cover of The Dirt Man next 😁

I don't have the skills for this, but I'm hoping someone else hears how this is similar to the rap in Play it By Ear's Elevator Pitch and samples that as well.

Really fun idea excited to hear from everyone

Might have to learn how to make music for this, how hard could it be?

ah! you did the thing!!

I cant wait to see all the entries!

I need this on vinyl

All I need now is to liquify this and inject it gay into my veins

Sigh. *dusts off audio engineering degree*

The way i’m gonna win this so hard

I think I know whar this prize is..............

I am obsessed with this!! I can't wait to hear all the submissions!!

What an incredible contest! Yesss!
