Behold! Our first "Interlude," an in-world canon one-shot where the cast gathers to create, expand, and play hitherto unseen people and places within the world of Umora. It is a profound pleasure to welcome you to the modest, but beloved, amphibious hamlet of Twelve Brooks, on the very cusp of its (regionally) famous midsummer revel. You are not going to BELIEVE who they named Great Bullfrog this year.

Everyone in the comments when this came out sort of passed over the “Empire taking families from their homes, including children.” bit because Buckles is such a gosh darn cute how could his situation be emblematic of something broader darker and more sinister.

some honest criticism that ive been putting off making because the response to this episode was so positive: the music in this episode made it so difficult to listen to what was being said. the main campaign episodes do a better job because there are known motifs that can be sprinkled in when appropriate. the first fifteen minutes of this episode that went to the public feed were unlistenable as someone with auditory processing issues because so much was crammed in (yes i know there are transcripts but i usually dont need them and would prefer to continue using them sparingly). i hope that whoever reads this takes what i have said in good faith. peace love and witches x

Oh this was just delightful! 😍 I adore every single one of these characters, especially Buckles, but Professor Salmon was a particular delight. Lou's descriptions of him were so great I could invision him perfectly! I would love another trip to 12 Brooks, but until then, I'm gonna listen to this again 💙

I love the way Brennan absolutely did not pronounce the French word for frog correctly. Was that on purpose to hide that Buckles is from a frog people? It must be, he speaks Spanish well so that using French pronunciation would be easy. I do love the tie in, the hint.

Up until now, the first episode of the main campaign has remained my favourite moment of WBN. That might have just changed. On a separate note, for a layman it’s almost unbelievable how people can improvise like that; how PCs weaved their story into elements of the world just introduced by others. Beautiful!

I both hope they’ll return to these characters and hope they never do at the same time. Like this story is done. We know what will probably happen here, If they never touched this again we’d have heard a magical story with an uncertain ending. But also I really want more of these characters finding so much around them. I want to know what the great bullfrog will do!

Hearing y’all world-build in real time is wonderful and puts your various talents on full display. I could almost hear y’all thinking, “If this is true, then what else is there?” Adding in the details about the town being shrouded in mist and moss and verdant greenery. Dropping in a castle and history of this place as a defensive fortification based on terrain features. Dropping in an amphitheater and a history of music, placing it right on the lake, and establishing a history of people making music. Aabria connecting the available water to industry with weaving, dyeing, and milling. Everything built upon each other element so beautifully. It made me imagine being at the table, building a world with you.
