The Secret Diary of Desmond Pfeiffer
One of my most requested programs, it's UPN's 1998 flop of historic (and historical) proportions.
Since my last couple were a little shy of the full week advance peek, this time around Patrons get it for a week and a half before it goes wide on YouTube.

A interesting case of "Six Degrees" is that in two episodes of "Clerks: The Animated Series" Pfeiffer is mentioned. In the original pilot, they watch and episode, which is played very straight and in another episode, there is a Desmond Pfeiffer's Civil War Burgers drive-thru Dante and Randal go to. Neither episode was aired originally. I saw them on the DVD that came out later.
Understanding what they INTENDED is one thing. Making it work is another, and no one here had a clue. I read that Chi McBride didn't have hard feelings against the series, figuring it was something different that just didn't work, and most everyone did manage to come out of it alive (except the producers). In the end, it had something to antagonize pretty much everyone -- and it was simply not funny. Married With Children had the first, but it WAS funny. Which is why Married lasted 11 years and Desmond died before 11 episodes aired. That said, I actually liked the telegraph gag. Sue me. One good joke in nine episodes. That's a bad balance. To quote another reviewer on another topic entirely, even The Flying Nun had a better record.
Even more astonishing, Dan Florek, who played Abe Lincoln, went on to play captain Cragen on SVU law and order
This might be the first 13WT entry that made me angry.
