☆// ⋆ TOTES "SIMPLE" MOD DESCRIPTION:

This simple little override currently enables (760) custom filters in CAS:

(630) filters named after creators for filtering their content.
(100) generic filters for mucking around with.
(30) "Fashion Era / Time Period" filters for "Time Period" simmers and creators.

These custom filters only appear in CAS when custom content that contain my "filter TAGS" are present in your Mods folder. Both simmers and creators can add these "filter TAGS" to existing custom content by utilizing the provided JSON files for Sims 4 Studio and following the instructions in the YouTube video attached to this post.

BE ADVISED! Some "filter TAGS" were changed! They can be easily identified, removed, and replaced, by utilizing the provided "DEPRECIATED" JSON file:

Euno Sims -- Changed in the first "Feature Update".
S-Club -- Changed in the first "Feature Update".

Cheers! I can't give you a "Search" feature in CAS yet, but I can give you this. 💜

🌸// ⋆ A PERSONAL REQUEST:

Please, please, pretty please, stop using brackets "[" "]" and other other special characters in your filenames. No spaces " " or dashes "-" either.

Use underscores "_" instead. EAxis uses underscores, so I assume they are fine to use.

Since 2015 or 2016 (or thereabouts), there have been posts floating around on the internet that state that special characters in filenames increase launch and/or load times.

If it is true, then I assume it becomes noticeable when using a lot of custom content and mods, but I can neither confirm nor verify it because I do not use a lot of third-party content and all of my filenames already use underscores. HOWEVER, many simmers believe it to be true, so much so that we have NUMEROUS tutorials explaining how to use batch/bulk renaming apps to mass rename our custom content - your custom content.

There is no need to bracket your creator name and there is no need to "yassify" your filename.

What we need is a standardized filename.

Here's an example of mine:

sej_CASA_BG_ClothingBottom_YF_TightsFootlessCropped.package

And here's a whole post dedicated to filenames that includes an explanation for why improper filenames might negatively affect our launch and/or load time from a coding perspective:

🎓 Modding 101: Filenames -- https://../posts/130391144

Even if you cannot change all of your old filenames, please consider adopting better filename practices in the future. Cheers!

P.S. I have no intention of "penalizing" anyone for having improper filenames or not changing their filenames by holding their "CAS Filters" filter hostage. Everyone gets a filter, period.

😺// ⋆ SIMS 4 STUDIO AIN'T BUSTED NO MORE:

I did a full BUGWATCH for this. -- https://../posts/130539081

For a while we were plagued with (2) issues:

The "Apply To All Swatches" button in the STUDIO » CATEGORIES » "Miscellaneous" section was erasing "CategoryNumbers" from "Miscellaneous" TAGS and effectively breaking them.
When adding a "Miscellaneous" TAG from the new drop-down list, no "CategoryNumber" was being added, forcing us to go into WAREHOUSE and add it manually to every swatch.

Both of these issues were addressed in the 7/31/2025 update for Sims 4 Studio:

3.2.4.6 (Star) for Windows
1.4.4.3 (Aurora) for Mac

I feel all warm and fuzzy and special! We got a whole "CAS Filters" update!

No Batch Fix, but the features mentioned above now work as they should - as they were meant to - which is the best consolation prize we can ask for!

⚠️// ⋆ POTENTIAL CONFLICTS:

TL;DR: I'm not locked in here with you. You're locked in here with me! 👹

—

CONFLICTS WILL ONLY OCCUR IF YOU HAPPEN TO USE THE SAME 9-DIGIT "TAGVALUENUMBER" FOR A "SPECIALCONTENT" TAG FOR CAS CONTENT.

I am so bold as to recommend that no one randomize 9-digit "TagValueNumbers" for "SpecialContent" TAGS from now on. Avoid the potential hassle of conflicting with this mod, and use 5, 6, 7, or 8-digit numbers instead.
You can also use any 10-digit numbers starting from "1,000,000,000" and ending with "4,294,967,295". Numbers above "4,294,967,295" are not valid and do not work. This isn't me saying this, this is the error that Sims 4 Studio gives.

I stand by what I said above.

You don't actually need to stop using 9-digit "TagValueNumbers" for your "SpecialContent" TAGS or even change your 9-digit "TagValueNumbers", but there is no scenario where I will modify my "TagValueNumbers" to be compatible with any third-party content or mod that might find itself in conflict with "CAS Filters".

Consider the inconvenience caused to you if you had to modify your content because your "TagValueNumber" conflicts with one of mine, then multiply that by any number of other creators who might make their content compatible with "CAS Filters", and the inconvenience they would face if I changed my "TagValueNumbers" every time "CAS Filters" was in conflict with some third-party content or mod.

I'm sorry I wasn't around and modding 7~10 years ago and didn't create this 7~10 years ago, but 🎙️ these are the breaks.

If this is something the community wants, then the community needs to make the necessary accommodations so that "CAS Filters" can work free from obstruction.

If there was another way to do this, one that didn't require me to "claim" all 9-digit "TagValueNumbers" for CAS "SpecialContent" TAGS, then I would have done that instead.

It's been TEN (10) YEARS. If someone, anyone, has a better way to do this, then please, reach out and collaborate, or get it done.

⚠️// ⋆ POTENTIAL PITFALLS:

FILTER LIMITS -- I don't know if there's a limit to how many entries I can stuff into the Tuning resource I'm modifying for this to work, so I'm going to continue stuffing the Tuning resource until it breaks or I create filters for "everyone".

TS4SCRIPT -- I intend to keep this mod away from TS4SCRIPT for as long as possible because of our recurring malware incidents, whether or not it can be done with TS4SCRIPT. However, if is can be done with TS4SCRIPT, it would be more efficient - instead of one override with hundreds of custom filters, we could have hundreds of- wait... Is having hundreds of individual custom scripts running in the game actually more efficient? That's hundreds of potential malware vectors! Yeah... nope. We're avoiding TS4SCRIPT unless it's absolutely necessary. 😹

ALPHABETICAL ORDER -- I "claimed" 9-digit "TagValueNumbers" in order to maintain some semblance of alphanumerical order in the filter list in CAS, but (9) digits is not actually enough. You can already see it failing in my glorious spreadsheet. (9) digits only allows me to ensure that the first letters of a name are always grouped together. I needed more, like (33) digits "more". A 33-digit "TagValueNumber" would allow me to maintain alphanumerical order for names as long as (16) characters.

👩‍🏫// ⋆ HOW THIS WORKS:

TL;DR: I'm the queen of this castle and you will follow my lead. 👑

We can't reasonably expect that every creator will, or even can, update their entire catalog, but it takes little to no effort to include the new TAG in new content.

—

There are four* parts to this:

A TUNING RESOURCE must be modified to add each new filter, and each new filter requires a custom "String Key" and a unique "TagValueNumber".
A CUSTOM STRING TABLE containing custom "String Keys" and "String Values" for each filter must be created, or the filters will have no names in CAS.
A UNIQUE "TAGVALUENUMBER" must be created for each filter. These will also be used for the custom TAGS that must be added to custom content.
A CUSTOM JSON file for each filter (or an all-in-one JSON file) must be created for Sims 4 Studio to make adding the custom TAGS to custom content easier.

Then there's the bulk of the work:

THE CUSTOM TAG must be added to custom content. This can be done during content creation or retroactively to existing custom content by modifying the PACKAGE directly, or by creating an override.

If the "TagValueNumber" in the custom TAG in the CAS content don't match the "TagValueNumber" in the Tuning resource, then the filter won't work.

If the "String Keys" in the "String Tables" don't match the "String Keys" in the Tuning resource, then you won't see a name next to the filter in CAS.

Consistency is paramount, which is why some teamwork is needed for us to realize this dream. In other words, I create the unique "TagValueNumbers" and the custom JSON files for Sims 4 Studio, and everyone uses my "TagValueNumbers" / JSON files.

That's it.

🎓// ⋆ "TAGVALUENUMBER" AS "DISPLAYINDEX":

TL;DR: My "TagValueNumbers" can be repurposed as unique "DisplayIndexes", but to do so, you must delete the SECOND (2nd) number and THIRD (3rd) number from my "TagValueNumber". 🪓

—

My "TagValueNumbers" are 9-digits long, but I recommend using 7-digit numbers for "DisplayIndex". You can use longer numbers, but it gets "wonky".

Example; "719354260" is my personal "TagValueNumber". To use it as a unique "DisplayIndex", I'd remove the two numbers in brackets "7 [19] 354260":

My personal "TagValueNumber" is "719354260".
My unique "DisplayIndex" is "7354260".

The SECOND (2nd) number and THIRD (3rd) number in my "TagValueNumber" are "grouping numbers". They are the only numbers you can safely remove to reduce my "TagValueNumber" from (9) digits to (7) digits while maintaining the uniqueness of the number.

I already fine-tune my "TagValueNumbers" to avoid instances where names with the same beginning (7) characters might overlap, e.g. "Strange Grapefruit" and "Strange Storyteller", so you need not worry about that.

🦄// ⋆ NO FEES, NO OBLIGATIONS, NO DRAMA:

NO FEES -- This is my declaration that this mod will never be pay-walled in any way. As long as I have a hand in developing this mod, you will never have to pay for it and it will never be in Early Access.

NO OBLIGATIONS -- My Patreon is truly "public", meaning you don't even have to be a "Free Member" in order to read this post or download this mod from the post attachments.

NO DRAMA -- This doesn't mean that drama will never happen. What it means is that no drama that I find myself in with anyone, including other members of the community, will prevent me from making this mod, maintaining this mod, or adding filters to this mod. "CAS Filters" ain't about my feelings, it's for the community.

If I'm not mistaken, my "No Fees, No Obligations, No Drama" statement was part of this post even before what transpired in [X] and in the Comments.

It was added because I have no qualms about criticizing anyone, including EAxis, when I believe that a situation has become so egregious that someone with my "disposition" needs to say something about it.

It remains because I'm still me. I've been me for longer than I've been modding this game, and I don't see me changing anytime soon. Cheers!

👹// ⋆ ADDRESSING CRITICISM:

This section has it's own post. -- https://../posts/127325028

Be advised, it is a very scathing rant about the drama surrounding this simple (but very time-consuming) mod.

In it I address what I consider to be bad-faith arguments about "ethics" and "unreasonable expectations" concerning "CAS Filters" and my "CAS Overrides" project. I also lay out some years-long criticisms that I'm sure we've all had at one point or another concerning the state of custom content and the creator community in general.

You might also find some value reading this other post. -- https://../posts/127188386

During one of my post overhauls, I had unintentionally removed the "No Fees, No Obligations, No Drama" statement, but I expanded it in this other post, and now I've done so again in this post, as seen above.

💜// ⋆ SPECIAL THANKS:

To Crilender for their "CASUnlocks" mod. The knowledge I gained from dissecting "CASUnlocks" allowed me to create my "Batty Bat™ CASMenu Override", and the knowledge I gained from successfully summoning "Batty Bat™" was applied to "CAS Filters". Without "CASUnlocks", "CAS Filters" might not exist. 🙀
To TajLIbra Creations for pointing me in the direction of that egg hunt for the Sims 4 Studio "Custom Tags" folder. These JSON files eliminate at least half the busywork required to add these TAGS! 😸
To vampishly for their totes not basic as !@#$ spreadsheets containing hundreds upon hundreds of creator names, links to their profiles, notes on what they make, and a bunch of other useful information. Seriously, these spreadsheets are amazing and amazingly made. My spreadsheet don't even have headers, pfft! I dun even know how to header! Not jealous in the slightest. No siree! 😹
To everyone else for the encouragement, because this is a ton of tedious, mind-numbing, and mundane work, and there were multiple instances in the week leading up to "INITIAL RELEASE" when I regretted figuring out how to do this. I've known to some extent how much work this would require ever since I summoned "Batty Bat™" back in 2024, and I knew if I ever figured it out, I'd take it upon myself to make it work for as many creators as I could. 🐱

🐐// ⋆ THIS DREAM:

Custom tags and custom categories would make my "tomorrow"! 😹
— Me, to my anonymous friend on 5/11/2024 @ 8:58 PM.

I've wanted to do this ever since I created my "Wearables™ CASMenu Override" a.k.a. my cute little "Batty Bat™" seen in some of my CAS screenshots, that is now finally released as my "Batty Bat™ CASMenu Override" with a variant for use with "More Columns in CAS".

Make no mistake, my "Batty Bat™" was always combat ready, but there were screen-space limitations. I couldn't possibly make custom CASMenu entries for absolutely everyone because there's simply not enough screen space. But filters, filters are a scrolling list, innit?!

If I can do "Batty Bat™", then I should be able to do TAGS or filters for everyone, right?

That was the question, and the answer is yes, and it ain't actually that difficult either.

It's no more work than I was doing to get my Wearables™ into my custom "Batty Bat™" CASMenu category, which was arguably a lot of work, and yes, this is a ton of work. 😹

🐑// ⋆ THE OTHER ELUSIVE DREAM:

Look, I get it. I know we want a Search feature in CAS, but that dream remains elusive.

I do not have the Scale Form GFX modding knowledge required to make it a reality yet.

Just like I can't give you fully functioning wheelchairs yet, because I don't do 3d modeling or animations yet, but I can give you this - https://../posts/116007526 - and I can tell you, without a doubt, that wheelchairs are possible, if only someone (or "a team") were willing to do it.

☆// ⋆ PROGRESSION - THIS ONE IS A CHANGE-LOG:

⚡ 10/14/2025 #1 -- I GOT A PLAN! IT'S A GREAT PLAN!

I'll expand on the new screenshots later. I should be on Kitchen Doody.

⚡ 10/13/2025 #2 -- I DID SAY I'D GIVE YOU EVERYTHING IF I COULD...

I reached out to S4S_Andrew, but it might take some before I get a response.

In the meantime, I'm going to try to enable the following filter categories that we see in Sims 4 Studio but not in-game:

Age Appropriate -- Done!
Archetype
Color Palette -- Already done, baby!
Occult (Randomization) -- Done!
Vampire Style -- This is "Style". The Vampire filters just aren't visible in CAS (yet).

I'm also gonna reorder the category list alphabetically.

And so help me, if I can figure out how to filter for the following, you gon' get that too:

Allow For Random
Restrict Opposite Gender
Restrict Opposite Frame

When I'm done with these, I'll push a feature update, then continue with the custom filters.

Can I claim CAS as my territory yet? 😹

⚡ 10/13/2025 #1 -- I AM A GOD AMONGST FLIES! <CACKLES MANIACALLY>

I few things have been delaying this big update.

One of them is the lingering thought that "I probably know how to create custom CAS filter categories, and I just haven't found the right resource yet. What if it's been right under my nose all this time?"

Turns out... it was. Cat dammit! (╯'□')╯︵ ┻━┻

There's a caveat though...

For S4S to do custom filter categories properly, I will have to reach out to S4S_Andrew and ask them to add support for any custom filter categories that I create.

⚡ 8/19/2025 -- I'M STICKING A PIN IN TRADITIONAL STYLES FILTERS...

I started, then I realized that the list I was looking at only had (41) countries, and I remembered that there are more than (41) countries in the world, and Shirley at least some, if not all, of the (150+) countries not listed in that list, will have their own traditional clothing, right?

So that's almost (200) more Styles filters. BUT WAIT, THERE'S MORE, because countries are generally larger than my little pinhead country, and different regions will have different traditional clothing, which means anywhere between (1) and (5+) filters for some countries, which means I'm looking at at least (400) more Styles filters - maybe less, who knows...

But it also means days of research because if I want to do this, which I do, then I'm Shirley not going to half-arse it, now am I? I know we may not have a lot of creators doing faith-based CAS content or traditional clothing CAS content, but I'm not gonna half-arse this mod.

Is full-arse "bottom in de road" or nothing! 😹

"Bottom in de road" is a "slang" phrase here in my country for... I don't really know. Maybe it's literal, like- MOVING ON! 😹

I'll add the (195+) "generic" country Styles in a following update, then I'll work on refining each of them in a future update.

This is, of course, all providing that the override don't break.

I'm sticking a pin in it for now because first and foremost, CAS Filters is about giving you a way to filter your content by creator.

I've already deviated with almost (350) aesthetic Styles filters. I maybe kinda got all excited and forgot why we're here when I realized that I can make custom filters in most of the filter categories we see in CAS. 😹

⚡ 8/13/2025 -- <CACKLES MANIACALLY> I AM A CAS GOD!

Shirley this entry was supposed to have content... Either the internet died or the electricity died while I was typing this and now I can't remember what it was for, however, I am indeed a CAS god. 😹

⚡ 8/12/2025 #2 -- I HAD A CHAT WITH A "PALETTE" CREATOR, AND...

I proposed tossing the "Palette Recolor" filters that they requested into the "Materials" filter category, and after some consideration, they agreed that it's the perfect plan:

Ain't nobody uses "Materials" filters in CAS, just like ain't nobody use to use "Special" filters in CAS before I came 'round. <EGO ALERT> 😹
Tossing the "Palette Recolor" filters into "Materials" means you can "refine" your "Sorbets" and your "Elderberries", etc., with "Colors" filters, "Styles" filters, and "Special" filters (we use these for our creator filters).
"Materials" filters work for Hairstyles too! You just ain't never seen them before because ain't nobody been TAGGING their Hairstyles as "Metal" and "Synthetic".

Am I blowing your mind with my <EGO ALERT> vast knowledge and modding powah yet?

There's something else... that I don't want to highlight yet, because I don't want to get anyone's hopes up, but I noticed something that has been in front of my face all this time. I just have no idea if I can make it work yet. It will require my full focus, so I'm shelving it til I complete this "CAS Filters" update.🐱

⚡ 8/12/2025 #1 -- ALSO, I CAN DO MORE THAN JUST STYLE FILTERS!

I can give you custom filters in any/all of the following filter categories, and I can reorder the filters inside of them however I damn well please, which means alphanumerical order wherever it's applicable:

Colors -- For now I've only reordered this but we can totally have all the colors!
Material -- I'm adding a custom "Maxis Match" filter and an "ALPHA" filter in here and I'm also reordering the EAxis filters below them.
Outfit Category -- All you're getting here is the "Bathing" filter. I will not be reordering this.
Fashion Choice -- I don't think I want to do anything in here, but I could.
Style -- Our fashion era filters are moving here. I'm also reordering this.
Special -- Our custom creator filters are in here.
Reward -- Shhh! This category is hidden. At least I've never seen it used. Have you?

I don't really want to create any "Reward" filters. I don't know what EAxis has planned for it. I'm not even sure how long it has been there. I don't understand why "Event Rewards" aren't in the "Reward" filter category. Had I noticed this apparently unused category before (if it has indeed existed for a while), I'd have used it for our creator filters. As it is, we're (600+) filters too deep for me to go changing our creator category. Instead, I will re-categorize all "Event Rewards" and "Birthday" items into the "Reward" category when I "CAS Override" them.

I can't make new filter categories without dragging this "simple" Tuning mod into Scale Form SFX territory, and I don't want to do that because of the potential conflicts with third-party CAS mods. We're keeping this Tuning-based so it doesn't conflict with anything. As it stands, the only other mod "CAS Filters" could conflict with is a mod that copies "CAS Filters". No one besides EAxis uses this Tuning resource for anything.

⚡ 8/11/2025 -- I FOUND A LIST OF STYLES/AESTHETICS!

How would you like all of these as Style filters? -- https://../wiki/List_of_Aesthetics

⚡ 8/9/2025 -- CUSTOM STYLE FILTERS ARE COMING!

I've been working on the railroad while waiting for the internet to come 'round, and as it turns out, I can give you custom "Style" filters!

This will allow us to "fine-tuning" our filtering the way I wanted us to be able to.

Right now we have (30) "Fashion Era" filters. They are currently "Special Content" filters like our (600+) creator filters:

If you enable the "1800" fashion era filter, you'll see all items from all creators with the "1800" fashion era filter.
If you then enable my creator filter alongside the fashion era filter, all items with my creator filter will be added to the filter results whether or not they have the "1800" fashion era filter. This is not the way I want this to work.

If I convert our "Fashion Era" filters to "Style" filters:

If you enable the "1800" fashion era filter, you'll see all items from all creators with the "1800" fashion era filter.
If you then enable my creator filter (which is a "Special Content" filter) alongside the fashion era filter, you will only see my "1800" items.
If you enable another creator filter alongside my creator filter and the fashion era filter, you will see my "1800" items and that other creator's "1800" items together. This is the way I wanted this to work.

The only filters right now that will be affected by the change are the "Fashion Era" filters. I might also change their unique TagValueNumbers and claim all ONE BILLION (1,000,000,000) numbers. <CACKLES MANIACALLY> Sorry. 😹

"Non-creator" filters that Simmers and creators have requested will also be added as "Style" filters - this includes the "age group" filters that were requested some time ago. I'd also like to add a few more "fashion" styles like "Goth", "Gothic", "Grunge", "Sci-Fi", etc. If anyone has any ideas, lay them on me!

BUT WAIT, THERE'S MORE!

I figured out how to enable the "Bathing" filter under the "Outfit Category" filters. This allows you to filter for all items with the "Bathing" "Outfit Type" TAG.

It's silly that EAxis omitted this filter, especially after all the instances that we've had over the years of custom content with improper "Bathing" TAGS. It's literally (12) lines of code!

Maybe they just don't want you to see that they have also improperly TAGGED items with the "Bathing" TAG and still can't be arsed to fix them! Ain't life grand?

BUT WAIT, THERE'S MORE!

With a significant amount of additional work, I might be able to fine-tune the creator filters to achieve perfect alphanumerical order without changing any of the unique TagValueNumbers. Huzzah! Don't celebrate yet. I know I can reorder the filters, but I don't know yet if I can fine-tune it to the extent required to actually achieve perfection.

The "imperfect" alphanumerical order of the creator filter list will probably only irritate you if you've got some kinda neurodivergence, which I clearly do, because it irritates the !@#$ outta me! 😹 I WILL HAVE PERFECTION, OR I WILL HAVE DEATH! 👹

🏗️ 6/6/2025 -- FIRST POST OVERHAUL FINALLY COMPLETE!

I had the idea to split this post into a "mod-post" and a "companion-post" in order to shorten this one, and I still might, but I haven't done it yet. Instead, I did some spring cleaning - expanded some things, shortened other things, added and removed whole sections, and I added a bunch of my snazzy new text-divider that will totally line-break if you resize the screen. Huzzah!

The main goal was to clean up my "RELEASE INFO" section seen at the very top of the post, and make the "short and simple" description more visible, and I think I did that.

☄️ 5/27/2025 #2 -- JSON ZIP RE-UPLOADED!

I "disabled" (3) JSON files while I was working on the last update by changing the file extension from "*.json" to "*.jsonOFF" and I forgot to "re-enable" them:

sej_CASFilters_127_0109_ForPersonalOrPrivateUse.json
sej_CASFilters_127_1099_ForPersonalOrPrivateUse.json
sej_CASFilters_127_3000_FashionEras.json

This won't affect anyone who downloaded the JSON ZIP before the last update because these TAGS have not changed. You'll likely just have two of every JSON in your "Custom Tags" folder now. If you do, you can safely delete the "*.jsonOFF" files.

For anyone else who downloaded my JSON ZIP for the first time after the last update, you can either rename the file extensions yourself, or just delete and re-download the JSON ZIP.

Cheers! Sorry about that...

⚡ 5/27/2025 #1 -- TIS A WEEJIO!

8 minutes 52 seconds
1080p
60 FPS
210 MB

I might create a new YouTube for my modding and upload it there too. Patreon seems to be connected with Vimeo to some extent, so maybe there too?

🌠 5/22/2025 -- UPDATED + "#Sej" SUB-FOLDERS!

We're now at (760) custom filters! We're a long way from my humble beginnings with (30) filters, but we still need at least another (500). Don't you fail me now. I want everyone!

Starting with this release I am now including sub-folders in my "#Sej" folder for better organization. I use all of my sub-folders, so if it works for me, then it should work for you, because in that respect, our games are the same. Cheers!

If you use my "#Sej" folder, you will need to manually delete the previous version of the mod. This new version will not prompt you to replace the old one because they are no longer "in the same place".

🌠 5/13/2025 -- UPDATED + I CHANGED A FEW NAMES!

(25) additional filters for creators added. It's a tiny update, sorry. I had no intention of working on this yet, but I was made aware that I !@#$ed up the last update by forgetting to "Copy string tables to all languages" and I didn't want to update it just to fix that when I had (11) names in my "PENDING" spreadsheet, so I expanded the list and did a feature update.

Fear not, I totes "Copy string tables to all languages" this time! I apologize to all non-English simmers who may have encountered filters with no names after the 5/5/2025 update. I got distracted and I totes forgot to do it. I've altered the way I update this mod to ensure I don't forget it again.

I changed the names of the generic filters "Ten" to "Nineteen" to "10" to "19" to match the other (80) I added in 5/5/2025 update. When I have the time I might find actual words for those extra generic filters, but today is not that day.

I changed prefix of the fashion era filters to all little "x". The alternate "+" and "x" was irking me something fierce. I thought it would look cute, but no. The "x" is meant to represent the sun since we can't get the sun emoji - "☼" just refuses to work in-game. Moon, Sun and Stars, get it? Celestial objects! Is cute! 😸

🌠 5/5/2025 -- UPDATED WITH MORE FILTERS, MORE JSON, AND EVEN LESS ETHICS!

I have now added (6,000) lines of code to the override. Fingers crossed it can take another (6,000 - 12,000). If you're wondering how that math works, each filter requires (12) lines of code. The original Tuning resource contains (1,977) lines of code. I'm a bit concerned, but it ain't broke yet, so we keep going!

More importantly, I changed the "TagValueNumber" for (2) creator filters:

Euno Sims - Part of the "Initial Release". Changed in the first "Feature Update". I accidentally used the wrong second and third grouping numbers and this filter ended up in the "D" section, and I didn't notice it until I was working on this update.
S-Club - Part of the "Initial Release". Changed in the first "Feature Update". This filter was ordering as "SClub" instead of "S-Club". I had a similar issue with "J3LLYFISH" and forgot to apply the "fix" here.

I apologize. I know it is an inconvenience to change these number after release. I will not make this a regular thing. The inconvenience of this, especially with Sims 4 Studio currently busted, is the reason "that section" concerning compatibility with third-party mods exists.

⚡ 4/23/2025 -- "BATTY BAT" BECKONS!

The way "Batty Bat" works is similar to this, and I'm wondering if I can make "Batty Bat" work with these new "SpecialContent" TAGS. "Batty Bat" has a special feature - I can hide my items from the EAxis CAS categories and have them only appear in my custom CASMenu.

🚀 4/22/2025 -- INITIAL RELEASE!

This should have been out hours ago, I apologize.

⚡ 4/21/2025 -- REMEMBER WHEN I SAID "INITIAL RELEASE" AT (30)?

Now we're at (250) and the override still works, baby! No more entries til after release.

Now I need to do the JSON files for S4S. Technically it could be done in two minutes, but I want to make life even easier for you by creating individual JSON files for every filter, so it'll be more like two hours. I'll explain why when I'm done.

⚡ 4/19/2025 #4 -- "CUSTOM CONTENT CAS OVERRIDES"!

Starting with that PENDING "The Big Day" collaboration from Caio x Serenity, then I'll do my favorite skirt from Trillyke, then my favorite heels from satterlly, then that cute prawn dress from Javi Trulove, and... uh, I downloaded a couple other things from other creators I've got filters for. Then we'll backtrack away from this for a spell so I can share my "PartMapping" BAND-AID and those BASE GAME CAS stuff.

This project completely derailed everything I was doing. I apologize. I was happily doing my little BASE GAME CAS Add-Ons to detox from the few days of !@#$ internet and suddenly, "EUREKA!" This is the process, I'm afraid. If it wasn't, we wouldn't have my SGFX Overrides and Patches that remove annoying UI effects. That was literally a "Oh! I keeled it! <LOOKS AROUND> Can I keel this too?! <GASP> ERRTHANG MUST DIE! <CACKLES>".

⚡ 4/19/2025 #3 -- I'M STARTING TO GET A BIT IRKED...

By the inconsistent capitalization of names in the filter list.

F.Y.I. I don't think I made this clear, but you won't ever see every single name the way I do. You will only see the names of the creators who you have custom content from IF the items are configured with my TAGS. I see all of them because I added every creator TAG to my "invisibility cloak" for testing.

⚡ 4/19/2025 #2 -- HOW WOULD CAS SEARCH EVEN WORK?

The CAS catalog isn't like Build Mode, so what I'm wondering is if the search bar would be able to even give us results from multiple categories or if it would just be from the selected category.

Now that I have a better understanding how Build Mode creators make their items searchable, would we be able to apply that method to CAS without the need for my Custom Filters?

Also, in my brief test, my toggle-able filters didn't appear in Build Mode. I think I need to modify something else to make them work. I did not expect them to be searchable, but it was a pleasant surprise.

I don't see Build Mode creators adopting my Custom Filters. The way they do it gives them the freedom to include multiple item-specific search terms, while my Custom Filters only allows for a searchable creator name - only really useful if you don't want to define a STRING KEY + VALUE for your "NameHash", and S4S has made that easy now by generating a unique STRING KEY for you when you click "Add".

👩🏻‍💻 4/19/2025 #1 -- MY TAGS CAN WORK FOR BUILDBUY SEARCH!

With some tweaking, I can give everyone matching BuildBuy Search TAGS too. VERY EASILY.

I need to dissect a custom content "BuildBuy" object to understand what the difference is between how I just did this and how other creators do it, 'cause I'm sure they're not overriding these TUNINGS.

Are you ready for me to assume direct control of your content TAGS?

👩🏻‍💻 4/18/2025 #2 -- EUREKA! JSONS FOR S4S!

I've delayed the "INITIAL RELEASE" due to someone unintentionally cracking open that damned "Custom Tags" folder in Documents » Sims4Studio! WHY IS THERE NO TUTORIAL FOR THIS ON THE S4S WEBSITE, BRUH?! C'MON!

I can now make either an all-in-one JSON file with every "TagValueNumber" defined or individual JSON files for every creator.

Why is this important enough to delay the release? Well, I'ma tell it to ya!

This allows us to use the DROP-DOWN LIST in STUDIO » Categories » Miscellaneous to select our custom TAG, and it makes our custom TAG compatible with the "Apply To All Swatches" button! In other words, it makes the process of adding your TAG easier! No more copypasting your unique 9-digit "TagValueNumber", just filter your desired TAG from the DROP-DOWN LIST!

Keep in mind though that adding TAGS from that DROP-DOWN LIST does not configure the "CategoryNumber" and TAGS do not function without their "CategoryNumber". HOWEVER, if Sims4Studio can fix the other problem of the "Apply To All Swatches" breaking the "CategoryNumber" (to be quite fair, it not breaking it, it's just not copying it), then we will be able to use the DROP-DOWN LIST to add our custom TAG » navigate to WAREHOUSE and add the required "CategoryNumber" (127) » navigate back to STUDIO » Categories » Miscellaneous » and "Apply To All Swatches" to copy/apply our custom filter TAG to all swatches!

⚡ 4/18/2025 #1 -- 120 FILTERS DEFINED!

👩🏻‍💻 4/14/2025 -- EUREKA! I CAN CREATE CUSTOM FILTERS IN CAS!

I just figured out how to make custom filters for just about anything and anyone including any creator in CAS! This is going to ruin my life… but maybe it'll make The Sims 4 a little more tolerable for you.
