ECU Tuner Standalone Training — Part 2: Trigger Setup & Ignition Timing
With our car built in Part 1, we can now move into ECU Tuner Standalone and begin configuring the ECU.
In this second training video, we work through the crank trigger setup and ignition configuration, ending with a timing check using the strobe light.
We cover:
• Checking the sensor signals in ECU Pinout and Trigger Scope.
• Configuring the 60-2 crank trigger, Hall sensor, and trigger edge.
• Understanding the trigger angle and first trigger tooth.
• Assigning ignition outputs for our wasted spark setup.
• Setting the coil dwell voltage map and ignition events.
• Checking synchronization and verifying cranking ignition timing at the crank pulley.
The goal is to understand each setting and see how it affects the simulated engine. By the end, we have synchronization and can confirm that the actual ignition timing matches the ECU setting.
