I Can't Thank You All Enough
This week has been...unexpectedly wild, to say the least.
I've been working at this digital map thing for something like five years now, just plucking away at it. Usually I would lose interest or give up by now, but having people who actually seem to enjoy and want the things that I'm making has been an incalculable boon.
There's still a ton of work to do, and I'm really excited to be able to do it. It's all kind of wild for me to think about sometimes. I was made fun of as a kid for liking DnD, as many my age or older were. My friends and I were once asked to leave the school building from after school when a teacher saw our books. Essentially no one cared about my hand drawn maps other than me.
And now here we are.
I went from 82 paid Patrons at the beginning of the week, to 3,289 at the end of it....
Now realistically, retention on these giveaways is close to 10% most of the time, but even if things settled out at 328 come October....it would be life changing. Actually, physically life changing. I could launch into an entire essay on why and how this is just, a cosmic shift for me right now and in relation to my entire life up until now....just know that this is huge.
You all make this possible. I wouldn't even be doing this if it weren't for you and people like you.

Honestly, I'm a big ttrpg map artists fan since many years and I can tell you your maps are just gorgeous, like really really beautiful.
I can't take all the credit for how they look, since I use CrossheadStudios assets, he's the real genius behind the art style. Still, I'm grateful that you and so many others enjoy the compositions that I create from them <3

I would give them out more often but I don't want to devalue what people pay for. That said, this has been fun, and I can see doing this once or twice each year for sure :)
I've said it before, but you did this! Without all of the hard work you've put into building up your back catalogue, your giveaway wouldn't have drawn in such a big crowd. You have achieved this and you are allowed to enjoy it. Also, your expecations sound realistic and I truly hope that your hard work will be rewarded in the future!
