Dev Update (sorry for the delay) + Revamped Massage Interaction Preview
Hey everyone, it's J from Warumiyo. Wanted to give you all a quick update on where things stand — and show you something we've been working on.
📋 Development Update
Final demo → Looking like it'll take at least 2 more weeks.
As for progress — we've actually gotten a lot done. The Reception minigame section is nearly complete. Right now we're working on connecting that scene to the main scene, which is taking a bit of time since I (J) built Reception solo while Hiro built the lobby scene independently. Hiro is currently working on linking up the massage animations as well.
That said, I want to be transparent with you all — Hiro's been dealing with serious back pain for the past week, and we've both been pushing ourselves pretty hard trying to hit our deadlines. Sleep deprivation, stress levels through the roof, cold sweats, heart pounding — it's been rough. As the game has grown, there are more things even we can't keep track of off the top of our heads, and fixing one thing breaks another, then fixing that leads back to something we already patched… development has slowed down because of that cycle. But we ARE making solid progress, and the more complex parts are starting to come together.
We originally planned to put together a playable in-progress build before the final demo was ready so you'd at least have something — but realistically, that's not feasible right now either. The deadline has already passed, and we think the right move is to be upfront with you all, take a few days to rest, and then upload a playable (unfinished) build as soon as we can. We're thinking about 3–4 days from now. After that, we'll keep pushing toward the final demo and get your feedback on it.
We know you've been waiting a long time, and we're sorry we haven't been able to deliver on schedule. Thank you for your patience and support — it really means a lot to us.
🎥 Revamped Massage Interaction
In the meantime, here's a look at the updated massage interaction system. We've reworked how it plays and feels — check out the video below to see the changes in action.
<Massage System Revamp> Based on feedback that the massage sessions lacked the feeling of actually giving a massage, we've overhauled the massage interaction system. Here's how the new controls work:
Pointer Over (Idle) — Hover your cursor over a massage area and Arin's expression will change, giving you a preview of how she'll react to that particular massage. If you hover for a moment, you can also watch a preview animation of the action.
Press & Hold (Perform) — The massage begins. It repeats as long as you keep holding down.
Pointer Up (End) — Release to stop the massage.
We know you've been waiting a long time, and we're sorry we haven't been able to deliver on schedule. Thank you for your patience and support — it really means a lot to us.

"We're thinking about 3–4 days from now" How many 3-4 days?
Thank you for the update. It is great to hear that you have made progress. Please take care of your health first. I am excited for the next update but I would feel bad if J or Hiro gets sick or worse because they put the development first.
I think it's great that both of you are taking the time needed to make sure everything is done properly. What I appreciate the most is your honesty and your willingness to take a break if you're not feeling 100%. I'd rather wait however long it takes and see things done right than have either of you push yourselves too hard. It's also nice to see you both being more active and communicating more frequently. I hope you're both doing well, and I really appreciate all the hard work you both put into the project.
I second this notion!
