This is true. I've had only one partner who understood my anxiety and depression, my need to either be alone or be in the room without interacting. She'd see my anxiety grow and suggest I grab a book to read, or go write some code. It was so awesome. Even her 2 kids empathically understood without needing to understand why, one or the other snuggling up next to me with their own book, without saying a word. If someone could be sincerely happy and content while depressed or anxious, that was me.
