What could possibly go wrong...

J
Joseph Bonnar · November 11, 2022

The mind boggles, DaGoblinFather. I tink Renee is gonna make Yay an offer they can't refuse...

T
TV4Fun · November 9, 2022

Yay no

G
Greg Matyola · November 10, 2022

Yay yes!

U
Uncle Matt · November 9, 2022

I can't help but feel Yay is the best dressed and certainly most fashionable of all the characters. EDIT: Pint Size is a close second....

W
William Cole · November 9, 2022

Yemisi is good at her job!

K
Kayla O'Brian · November 9, 2022

Side note: Where's Brun at? Feel like we have't seen her in years.

D
David Paul · November 9, 2022

Yay may have all the tact and subtlety of the average war axe, but if their work with Bubbles is any indicator, they could still wield their power and influence with scalpel precision.

J
Jared Counts · November 9, 2022

Off topic, but listening to Pivot and hearing Kara Swisher call Jeph out by name for his Elon Musk tweets was a real “when worlds collide” moment for me

K
Kristina · November 9, 2022

You know what, this might just work...I'm definitely here to find out!!

W
William Cole · November 9, 2022

"Commisioner, Ya gotta take their badge! Yay's a loose cannon." "Yes, O'Malley, but they get RESULTS!"

F
Fart Captor · November 9, 2022

No no, Clinton, give them a shot. I wanna see this train wreck

t
tellumo · November 9, 2022

I remember seeing a post somewhere that said the AIs in QC are still learning how to participate in the human world and sometimes don't get it right (of course, the humans aren't batting a thousand either) . . . but Yay might be making a bigger hash of it than a Voltron composed of Melon, Lemon, Punchbot, and Pintsize could ever hope to. *makes mental note to get popcorn next time he's at Costco*

S
Sleepy John · November 9, 2022

"Voltron composed of Melon, Lemon, Punchbot, and Pintsize" with Yay as the head. I so much want to see this.

C
Carl Fink · November 9, 2022

What's interesting is that there are several people in this comment section who make no secret of having autism, or social anxiety, or just being socially awkward, yet all of us have instantly seen how ridiculous Yay's plan is. One wonders if it's just meant as a troll against Clinton.

S
Some Ed · November 10, 2022

To be fair, some of us have instantly recognized how ridiculous Yay's plan is because we've done it ourselves. Past me so resembles Yay in today's strip (aka the one after htis one.) I mean, it wasn't in a bakery, I wasn't wearing that outfit, and I didn't do the "so incredibly full of myself" hand gesture that anyone who read up to this strip would just know Yay would do, or for that matter any other hand gesture one might reasonably predict Yay might make, but otherwise... When I was Yay's age, would I have recognized it? Obviously not, because I was much older when I attempted it.

R
Robert Miller · November 9, 2022

Comedy gold for the next three weeks. Thank you Yay.

G
Gabriel Burns · November 9, 2022

Am I really the only one that feels like this might actually work out well? I feel like the direct and tactless approach Yay is likely to take could be the jolt Elliot needs to break him out of his negative thought pattern and get the help he needs. It would of course be different if they tried to provide that help themself, but as the impetus to get help, they might actually shine.

A
Aaron Schulz · November 9, 2022

Might make him realize he is creating a self fulfilling prophecy. If he keeps doing this it will, rightly, make Clintons say fuck it and leave. Cant live with that kind of nonsense up and down and its ridiculous of Elliot to be this way about it.

B
Bagge · November 9, 2022

Yay is helping

L
Leak · November 9, 2022

HALP!

J
John Smutko · November 9, 2022

🎶Now this sounds like a job for Yay So Elliot, just follow Yay Cuz we need a little AI therapy Cuz it feels so easy thanks to Yay🎶

M
MikeT · November 9, 2022

Maybe 'Yay' is actually pronounced 'Ye''....

C
Captain Button · November 9, 2022

With friends like Yay...

D
Daniel S · November 9, 2022

No way this can go wrong!

L
Lightsabr2 · November 9, 2022

*Y'all* are so bad at this.

l
ljdbjlasfbjk · November 9, 2022

*All y'all* are so bad at this.

A
Andrew · November 9, 2022

I like to think panel 3 lasted exactly one second. And Yay feels they were being extremely patient.

D
David Paul · November 9, 2022

That's, like, 1,000,000 microseconds!

C
Czarzhan · November 9, 2022

Unfortunately, while Clinton may be thinking he's preventing Yay from carrying out their break-up plan since they haven't left, they may have dispatched another body to do so.

E
Eldritch Insights · November 9, 2022

"Clinton, I'm not a Marvel villain. Do you seriously think I'd explain my master-stroke if there remained the slightest chance of you affecting its outcome? I did it thirty-five minutes ago." - Yay, probably

J
Jeffrey Anderson · November 9, 2022

Thank you, Jeph. You have made me laugh out loud on a day where I've felt a lot of burden. you are great, please keep this up...like...forever.

C
CorruptDropbear · November 9, 2022

This is either a great or horrible idea and I do not know which

B
BobC · November 9, 2022

Oh, shit. Now I'm getting REAL relationship advice from a WEB COMIC? Please let me NOT be the only one feeling this way!

B
Brooks Moses · November 9, 2022

It can't be worse than me learning how to fold fitted sheets from a newspaper comic.

S
Sean Kinlin · November 9, 2022

Clinton is so into AIs that he sometimes behaves like them. Case in point: venting steam in panel 3.

W
William Cole · November 9, 2022

But is he pine-scented?

A
Abrea · November 9, 2022

"This gunnar be good".gif

G
Grace Serenity · November 9, 2022

Yay, sweetie, just, no.

L
LH · November 9, 2022

yeah uhh this very much does not sound like a Job For Yay ... can't wait to see how it goes

V
ValdVin · November 9, 2022

Yay is helping! Simply by being here with Clinton Yay is not able to wreak havoc over at the AI Rights Org by helping out there. Then again if Yay ever wants to spend more time with Roko...

S
Stephen Wells · November 9, 2022

Yay has multiple bodies. They could wreak havoc in every branch of the QC-verse simultaneously.

J
Joseph Bonnar · November 9, 2022

Yay is trying. VERY trying.

a
at0m · November 9, 2022

Oh this is going to be a train wreck

S
SpookyPenguin · November 9, 2022

What did I say? what did I say?!?! Don't tell Yay they're bad at this!!!!

T
Tannerbot · November 9, 2022

Yay: "So, I might have started a few wars..." Yay, you may need to read a few psychology textbooks. And then still never do that.

V
ValdVin · November 9, 2022

According to Lerner and Loewe "Having started a few wars..." is one of the simple joys of they-denhood. I wonder which others Yay has their eye on.

E
Edward Clayton Andrews · November 9, 2022

No Yay.

Y
Yelling Bird · November 9, 2022

Dr Yay: Professional Therapist.

Where in the hell did Yay get their insights into the human emotional landscape?

R
Rob McBobson · November 9, 2022

*their insights

M
Matt · November 9, 2022

Super AI Dunning-Kreiger?

R
Rob McBobson · November 9, 2022

You can sing that to the melody of "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles".

B
Blake Manor · November 9, 2022

Yay probably has a degree in therapy, sadly it's buried under the smarm and omnipotence

S
Some Ed · November 9, 2022

Yay strikes me as the sort of person who gets enough confidence in their own abilities that they decide to print diplomas to showcase their skill without actually doing the coursework or taking tests to verify they actually have the skills they think they do. Sure, actually testing out of the degree, if they have the skills they think they have, would take very little time. However, it has the chance of getting a firm rejection in a way they'd find difficult to ignore, so they don't. Likewise, they could download an AI app to be a therapist, but that might disagree with the understanding that they've gleaned from their impeccable Internet sources. To be clear, I do think that humanity exposes enough of its psyche to the Internet that one could potentially learn more about humanity from it than any one of us consciously understand. However, the likelihood of doing that goes down dramatically when you infuse all the smarm and omnipotence into the learning process.

e
enchantedsleeper · November 9, 2022

This will be fine 0 u 0

M
Miyaa · November 9, 2022

When Yay find Roko smelling and getting off on yeast and bread odors, they will know Roko’s weakness.

J
Joseph Bonnar · November 9, 2022

They.

S
Shawn K. Younkin · November 9, 2022

LMAO- Great idea Yay... I'm sure you thought of that all on your own.

Z
Zak Reichle · November 9, 2022

Thank you, Yay!

T
Tamara Macadam · November 9, 2022

welp rip that relationship

S
Sean Kinlin · November 9, 2022

Elliot is already pretty ripped.
