I'm surprised. Necessary secrecy aside, wouldn't Yay be the first to expect praise and adulation for their unique, if not generation-defining architecture? Every quirky little bypass and work-around to make it work more efficiently than singlet AI's would get someone gushing, surely.

That's true for industrial robots, but is that true for that world's AIs? Some of them seem to be clumsy AF. Or is that just a personal choice to add a human-like flair for the "species" euphoria?
Weird way to put it but i like seeing Clinton with someone where it doesnt seem like a build up to make him the butt or a joke. He and Yay are a nice balance.

I mean, there is some extent to which people being impressed with the engineering behind robots could be analogous to being impressed with the human body. Especially when it comes to any modifications are done on purpose (e.g. piercings, upgrades, style choices, hair color/style)
When presented with a dichotomous choice, "both" is always a valid response. Doubly so (at least) in Yay's case. It probably, almost certainly, says terrible things about me, but I love them, appalling as they are.

Sorry Yay, humans love to treat *everyhing* as 'just a thing' when it suits them, including other humans. To us, everything has instrumental value first, intrinsic value sevond. We are the most egocentric, xenophobic species imaginable that loves to regard everything and everybody solely in terms of its commercial utility. 🙄
I have found kicking my own ass when I catch myself doing that has reduced the occurrences notably.

I mean, you can parse the mechanical engineering of the AI body from the mind, especially since not every AI even has a body. Prosthetics like Clinton's hand are even the same engineering.
