Bubbles To The Rescue

I think I've called Winslow cute in every one of these since he got his body, but that last panel, he's too much, I want to hug him T_T
Now I want Winslow to sit on Bubbles' lap.
Miss Bubbles is just the best.
Bubbles' smile in the last panel makes me really happy for some reason.
I think Momo and May have bonded and May knows just how hard Marigold and Momo worked to get Momo her body. I also think May is projecting frustration over her own predicament to the most convenient vulnerable target -- Momo would NOT put up with that kind of outburst from May.
But she'd probably be more understanding than someone else. Because May doesn't have a companion to help her. She's all on her own.
Just when I think I can't love Bubbles any more than I already do...
Winslow's 'privilege' comes from having a wealthy companion. He doesn't actually have any assets besides his body. How can he leverage that to reduce the inequity shown in this story? Why is it his responsibility rather than, say, Momo's? Interesting.
Because he feels it. Winslow realizes he has privilege and feels bad about it - he wants to do something, so of course he is the one who should do something.
Love the modern metaphors in there Jeph.
I still wish the color-matching thing hadn't been an error. :)
I hate to complain, but Bubbles' skin tone is wrong here. Is she in shadow, or does Jeph need to keep better track of skin colors?
Typo note: "hosility" in the fourth panel should be "hostility". At least I didn't see a hose...
Thank you.
Omg I need this SO BAD after this weekend.
You know, usually I don't enjoy when the moral is this blunt, but when it's a character who doesn't screw around in what they say, I enjoy it just fine.
HEY KID WANNA /SS/
That's one to grow on!
I see what you did there.
Am I the only one that nearly cried at this Very Special Episode?
I wonder if the different font is supposed to represent something, or if it's just a different font.
The robot fonts have changed a lot over the years. I suspect Jeph just found one with better line spacing and decided to swap it out.
Thank you for including another head pat ;)
Perfect comic for today. Thank you for making me smile on a day that needs smiles.
Damn Jeph, that was smooth and goddamn great.
I'm really intrigued by this perspective. Winslow is dealing with a problem lots of people have, but he would have never conceived of situations like this. What's more, it's maybe more personal than how humans would experience this discomfort. The rift between him and May isn't just in material things like cars and clothes, it's completely intrinsic. What he is made of is the cause of the separation, so he can't conceive of removing it without unbecoming himself.
You say "lots of people" but the whole point of privilege is that a select few (usually a certain subset of people) have it. The vast majority of the world lives without it.
Bubbles used to be locked-down like Ft. Knox. Then she opened up a bit. Learned to hug and be hugged. Now she's a counselor / life coach. Quick learner! I really don't want to know how fast or how well she learned to toss tactical nukes, or if she's really liquid metal on the inside...
Bubbles is wise!
Bubbles is like the big sister we all wanted.
And one day, we shall all build our own Bubbles to have that experience.
Aw. =) Bubbles is excellent.
Bubbles is powerful on many levels in in many ways. I sure hope Faye and her become a couple because they both have qualities that complement each other and mitigate their weaknesses.
Bubbles really knows how to rock her sweatpants
