Drug Parties

This was the result of the poll we had running here, out of all the options Drug Parties and Gatherings was the clear winner with Improved Reactions and Social Interactions coming in second.

For this release, I created five different parties and gatherings, each with their own goals, interactions, locations, and rewards.

Let’s take a look at how to host them and what each one brings to the table.

How to Host a Party
To host one of the new parties or gatherings, click on your Sim’s phone, select the Social category, and choose Plan a Social Event.

From there, you’ll get the usual list of social events that come with the game, alongside the new custom Basemental events.

You can easily spot the new ones by looking for the Basemental logo next to the event.

Now, let’s take a look at the five new parties.

🍃 Smoke Session
Invite some friends over, light up, pass it around, and enjoy a laid-back smoke session together.

The goals for this event are centered around smoking cannabis, sharing joints and blunts, socializing, and generally enjoying the evening with your fellow stoners.

The rewards are also cannabis themed, with various weed-related items and paraphernalia up for grabs depending on how well the event goes.

💫 Ketamine Kickback
The Ketamine Kickback is a slightly more... disconnected kind of gathering.

Get some friends together, break out the ketamine, and let the evening drift wherever it happens to go.

Goals revolve around using ketamine and hanging out with the other guests, while the rewards include items related to ketamine and psychedelics.

🌀 Group Trip
The Group Trip is all about taking psychedelics together and seeing where the experience leads.

Unlike some of the other parties, this one can also be hosted at a park, making it a good option if you want your Sims to head outside for their psychedelic adventure.

The goals and rewards are centered around psychedelics and the different activities that come with them.

💊 Molly Meetup
Get the crew together for some good vibes, dancing, socializing, and a whole lot of Molly.

The Molly Meetup can be hosted at home, but you can also take the party to a bar or nightclub.

The goals focus on taking MDMA, socializing, dancing, and enjoying the party, while the rewards are related to Molly and psychedelics.

🍺 Bender
The Bender is for Sims who want things a little more chaotic.

Grab some friends, pour some drinks, break out the cocaine, and keep the party going.

This event can also be hosted at a bar or nightclub, and its goals revolve around drinking, cocaine use, partying, and socializing.

The rewards are naturally centered around alcohol and cocaine.

Party Planner Fix
While testing all of this, I noticed that the Team DJ used by Party Planners was no longer showing up properly at Rave venues.

I relaxed the filtering a bit, so if the Team DJ can’t fill the role for whatever reason, another suitable Sim will now take their place instead.

I also made sure that, as long as the DJ booth is accessible, they will actually start DJing instead of just standing around looking stupid.

To make sure this mod works you need to download the updated Basemental Drugs venue list provided in this post. I recommend installing this venue list in a separate folder directly in your Mods folder called: Basemental Venue List. I also recommend updating it whenever there is a new mod version out as I constantly add in new custom venue compatibility from other mod authors.

Choose one of these 2 installation methods. Not both.

Basemental Drugs Installer (WINDOWS ONLY)

• Delete all the old Basemental Drugs files from your Mods folder.*

• Download this Basemental Drugs.exe file.

• Run the Basemental Drugs.exe file.

• Choose which Optional Packages you want included.

• Delete your localthumbcache.package

* If you installed from the installer previously, you can delete the old files by launching the file called unins000.exe in your Basemental Drugs folder.

Basemental Drugs Zip (WINDOWS OR MAC)

• Delete all the old Basemental Drugs files from your Mods folder.

• Download the Basemental Drugs zip file.

• Unzip the Basemental Drugs zip file.

• Place the files in a folder titled Basemental Drugs in your Mods folder.

• Delete the Basemental Drugs zip file.

• Delete your localthumbcache.package
