Progress report: Oh, look, I can walk!
Hey everyone!
It’s been two weeks (and a few extra days) since I posted my progress update after getting out of the hospital.
So... health-wise, what’s new?
Physical rehab is doing its job: I’m walking almost normally again, I can go up stairs, do groceries without limping (even though the next day my knee definitely reminds me it exists). Don’t ask me to run yet—I haven’t tried—but hey, it’s already a big first milestone.
My knee is slowly deflating, the bruises are fading, and everything inside is gradually settling back into place.
As for the rest: general anesthesia clearly took a toll on me. For a while, I was taking one to two hours of naps every day, even after sleeping 9 hours at night (normally I sleep 6–7 hours and never nap). I’m recovering on that front too, even if it’s still a bit rough. I now sleep at least 8–9 hours per night, but for the past few days, I’ve finally stopped needing naps.
So yeah... since I’m feeling better, I’ve also been able to work on the game more efficiently! (It’s crazy how much easier it is to focus when you’re not in pain…)
Game-wise, I’m currently working on the first action scene of the chapter. It’s not overly ambitious in terms of length or animation, but I will need to learn a few additional VFX techniques. I don’t think it’ll take too long, and those effects will come in handy quite often later, so that’s a good investment.
In terms of overall progress, I’ve also made solid headway on the second spicy scene of the game. Since those take an insane amount of time, I’m pretty happy with that.
Today’s numbers:
760 still renders
15 animations rendered (150 seconds, or about 9,000 frames), with 6 more well underway
3,000 complete script lines
I’ll leave you in Aurora’s company for now (yes, something about her has changed... but of course, you know I won’t say more).
