Some learning, and back to posing
What's new on the development front? Well, it's progressing! (thanks, Captain Obvious -_-) More seriously, I'm behind on my plans, clearly, but there's a good reason for that. As you probably know (I hope), Glowing Stones is a game about superheroes... And superheroes mean superpowers. Until now, the only animations involving powers revolved around the main character's power and Sirena's. The others only appeared in static renders. And for good reason: finding animated flames in the software I use for 3D rendering is impossible... The same goes for other powers... For Sirena, it's somewhat similar, especially for the glass debris in the jewelry store scene. And there's no physics engine in this software either.
So, I learned to use another software, much more complete (and complex): Blender. It's a software used even by professionals in 3D rendering and special effects. But as with everything, it takes time to learn. Especially since here, we're not just talking about doing things in this software; it also needs to be imported and exported from the other software.
It took me a lot of time, but frankly, I'm proud of the result. And especially, it reassures me about the possibility of really having beautiful visuals of these superpowers, over time!
It was necessary, I think, to maintain the cinematic aspect and the animated aspect we've had so far. I was very frustrated not to have been able to do it for the last chapter's ending scene!
Here's what I've managed to achieve as a result (it's a little sneak peek, the scene contains more than 35 seconds of animations in total! :) )
Since I managed that, I've started setting the renders for the story again, it's progressing! And on the story side, it's almost finished. I only have the dialogues for the naughty scenes left to write, but everything else is written and partly scripted!
For the numbers:
580 renders
4660 animated frames (78 seconds of animations!)
3500 scripted lines and 500 more to script
2080 scripted lines totally finished
Another number that might make your head spin: with this chapter, the game reaches 70,051 words (in English). For comparison, Harry Potter (the first book) contains 77,000 words!
Thank you all for your trust, and see you soon!

This question may had been ask before what is the current % to be able to complete the game, since I know there is still work on progress, if not complete is there other completed games available to play
Hello, actually, I'm working on the chapter 5, and there is 8 chapter planned on this book, and 3 book planned to complete entirely the story. And it's my first game, so no other completed game so far :)
Well done on taking on the challenge to learn something that will improve things going forward, but also for any future projects(I expect great things, not just for this game, but your future projects going forward).
Thank you, and yes, at least it's for the three games of this trilogy! :)
Awesome!
thank you, and wait to see all the animation! ;)
That is indeed an incredible animation. I checked steam today and this game is very highly rated right now but with this kind of animation you might just raise the bar for everyone. They will all be trying to catch up with you 🙂. I also have to say, that is HOT and also COOL.
Thanks a lot, but to be honest, there are not a lot of AVN with superpower or which could need this kind of animation ;) but I agree, it's a cool animation ^^
Wow, that looks really good. Take as much time as you want.
thanks a lot, but I've already took too much time ;)
