The public launch of update 2.1 is out now on itch.io. This new version has better grammar, a new song, and uses a new version of renpy. I would suggest updating to this version if you wish to create save files. The next update will also be on renpy 8.0.3 instead of 7.5.3. I'd say its worth checking
