I'm trying to figure out if I like the colored word balloons, or if they're just unnecessary.

Those buttons existed on Jay's anthro's pants for ages due to the need of a hole for the tail. The fabric ends below the tail and then theres a button above the tail to fixate the pants.
Also re word balloons: I don’t know about in general, but I like the colored, slightly transparent ones here. They blend better with the scene, whereas I feel conventional solid white ones would stick out too much. Don’t know if I’m explaining this too well but that’s my two cents. And Pepper’s terrific to see as always!

Something about the coloring struck me as being different/more intense before I even realized the balloons were colored differently. Did you try something else new or is it just me? For the record like the colored balloons. Maybe a touch lighter would be better?
There's more contrast because the background is darker, is all I can guess.

I know this is such a funny detail to focus on, but I’ve always loved how you draw the little strap and button/buttonhole on the back of pants for the tail. It just makes so much sense and I love that you thought of that!
I knew a girl who had a pair of jeans that zipped in the back. It was interesting.

I for one like the coloured balloons. They draw attention and give context and flavour. A dash of sriracha if you catch my drift! Beautiful depiction of Pepper, great colour as always
I think the colored word bubbles if given a more subtle color then they would help keep each piece of dialog identifiable to each character while at the same time not being noticable to be mentally screaming out who it is.
I still have the same idea, Jay: a sex sheet for Pepper (like Billie's first and then Brooke) 😉 But of course that's up to you 👍

Same reason as having sex outside. It's the risk of being caught.
Ehh... They feel awkward, considering you haven't used colored bubbles for most of your comics
I like them, personally. Helps give an aesthetic voice to the characters.
