Has anyone noticed that the first voice Ryan Gosling tries to make a voice for Rocky in Project Hall Mary is Stanger Gorgon? Sorry if this comment doesn't belong here. I'm new.... and still only in 2019... coming up on Octooky.
The Hidden episode when
Annoying comment but because it stuck out so much when I watched the movie - the judge is in debt because he is losing money playing contract bridge, not poker. I guess he's a judge so he's too sophisticated for poker? But yeah, show me a movie about the high-stakes bridge scene.
I am the Gabrus of my friend group because I also make myself feel better by saying "Gwildor" in Dolph's voice
Can you guys do The Man From Left Field for sportstember? Directed and starring Burt Reynolds. Reba is in it. Burt whispers all his lines. If you cant find it on streaming I'll mail you the vhs
"Pangolin Jizz" should be the next ABZ tier
When did Val Verde start printing Dr Zaius on their money?
It’s covered in “To Live and Die in Val Verde.” It’s worth watching for the full frontal.
Gabrus is going to love Lonesome Dove. It has quite the fantasy/epic journey structure for being the greatest novel ever written.
Guildor and Dolf doing their "who's on first" in the sand trap is my new favorite bit
Speaking of the guy that plays Powell on DD Born Again, he’s pretty much playing the same type of character that he played in Mayor of Kingstown! And speaking of MOK, I’m working on season 5 of that today. I’ve been a nameless background cop in that for four seasons now. Most of the scenes I work in are the ones where Renner pulls up to a crime scene, he says some variation of “Jesus Christ, what now?”, talks to Ian, and then leaves. Fun stuff.
On the plus side, Gabrus, I’m pretty sure Tarantino loves your script.
I watched the 1972 Bad Company with Jeff Bridges by accident. Sounds like it was a better movie than this. Im sure they'll do it eventually.
Lonesome Dove audiobook is very very very good
anyone feel like the hoopla version had built in motion smoothing? couldn't get it off and i never have it on
The amount of times I've watched the movie on the weekend, read the imdb trivia, gotten the bad trivia deleted, and then you guys read that trivia on the podcast on Monday is very high. Like the entry about the judge being gay is no longer on there because of me. But I'm no hero, I do this for most things I watch.
I remember I saw this with a girlfriend in the theater when I was 20. I hated it so much, I feigned being asleep throughout much of the film. The fact that there’s a Morphine song in the movie is a highlight though.
There's three Morphine songs in Wild Things. Good on the music supervisor.
Dallas catching strays when there are much better targets in Texas. Charles Barkley was right, sorry.
Loved Les
Sorry to be the and here’s nothing related to this but I just watched 1981 Firecracker for the first time and it was such shitty fun. Philippino fighting sticks, topless karate, eyes gouged out. Goddamn.

In addition to Bad Company (1995), this week I also watched Bad Company (1995), aka The Nature of the Beast aka Hatchet Man, a decent (bad) straight-to-video chiller by Jeepers Creepers auteur Victor Salva. Basically a two-hander starring Lance Henriksen and Eric Roberts on a roadtrip to... Hell? Part The Hitcher (1986), part maybe Kalifornia (1993), if anyone remembers that one. According to the sauna, Roberts turned down Best of the Best 3 to star in this, good for him. At one point Henriksen's character, a nerdy guy who is in the 'paper business', complains that email is killing them, pretty funny. Predictably Roberts is hardcore chewing the scenery, especially in an outrageous scene where he's ODing on heroin while tied to a chair (spoiler). Opening credits contain the six words every movie buff wants to see: "and Brion James as Sheriff Gordon"
Pretty much in agreement with the Boyz on this one. Also, as a big film noir fan few things annoy me more than shitty attempts at noir/neo-noir. It can be done of course, but when it stinks, it really stinks. Rewatched Dark City (dir cut) this weekend and it suffers from the same thing (in addition to other stuff, tho I know it has a lot of fans). Comes across as superficial pastiche.
Surely you're not talking about the Married With Children episode "Al Bundy, Shoe Dick"
aren't IQ tests all bullshit anyway?
The only good company is a dead one.
I watched this on Hoopla and I am pretty sure it was a digitized version of the pan and scan. It looked distractingly shitty.
Stanger looking at a still image from Mr. Skin: “Enhance… Enhance… Enhance…”. 😂 Computer zooming in: “Tsh-tsh-tsh-tsh-tsh-tsh-tsh-tsh…” 😂
Curious to see how he would do on the Voight-Kampff.
Another excellent choice, but I still await the blessed day when I see Action Boyz and Blue Thunder pop up in my Patron app
Got some L.A.-related info for once. Apparently Netflix has decided to shutter the Egyptian for the summer, closed June-August. Meanwhile, American Cinematheque’s Fox Westwood Village Theater restoration is going faster than expected, and the scuttlebutt is that Netflix is canning the Egyptian crew for the hiatus and Westwood Village is sniping those folks for themselves. So Westwood will already have some experienced folks behind the scenes when they open this year, and the anonymous person I spoke to is glad to move on: “Fuck Netflix.” But you didn’t hear this from me.
found it on hoopla.
Man, I loved this movie. Felt more like a novel than a movie, in a way that I liked. Some great lines. And I couldn't help being taken by the 90s Vancouver vibes.
I still remember my SAT score and it was higher than Musk's. No one would ever mistake me for a genius!
I wonder if Musk lied about his scores or hired someone much like his Diablo “experience”
yeah brad pitt wasn’t in anything notable between interview and fight club except seven and his first oscar nomination. COME ON.
Opening a movie. Thats a bruce willis movie.
Saw this as a double feature with Heat with my mom. Both had no idea what this movie was and how much sex was in it. We talked about Heat after. No mention of Bad Company.
