What did we do this week? (September 3th 2020)
Fei:
I've added this Respawn on previous checkpoint function on all races in the game. I've also added an Event for players to abandon missions that allows abandoning missions.
I've updated the dialogs and ingame text queries system for future additional languages and greatly improved the workflow pipeline for localization, making ingame language switch on the fly automatic, with a more organized SOP.
I've written and added a "How to Play" menu in the Pause menu, explaining in details many aspects of the game the player might have missed. Ideally, a video would illustrate the informations, but I might just leave it as it is for now.
I've fixed a bug tied to the jumping where a specific setting makes the player land back immediately before leaving the ground.
I've fixed a bug tied to the inventory and the storage box being full.
I've modelled and animated a new robot named TELO that will take part in the next plot mission I'll be working on.
I've added a new mini mission. so short it doesn't feel like a mission.
Finally, I've added a few dialog reaction animations.
And finally finally, I debugged stuff.
Leo:
I started to design the new district area for a couple of weeks.
This area is basically a huge slope going through a Slum.
On the border of the District there's also Japanese and Hong Kong style of buildings. Hopefully this will bring new skating feels and a different vibe to the game adding up for a richer world. Next I'll be working on the details of this area.
Yang:
I've been trying to contact gaming influencers and see if they'd be interested in trying Neon Tail.
This will take a lot of time but I think it's worth it.
Meanwhile, I've started to modify all the street races to align to the new system Fei added, allowing players to respawn on the previous checkpoint function.
Before this, failing a jump was extremely frustrating and one would quickly abandon the race, as the time it would take to go back up completely destroys the whole race's time. With the checkpoint respawn system, simply press Select and get back on track right away. A real life changer.
See you next week :D
