Lula’s New Outfit… Too Much, or Just Right? 👀🔥
Lula’s new outfit is finally ready—and she’s come quite a way from her first design! 😁
When we started designing Lula’s Mage outfit, we wanted to capture an outworlder hero finding her place in a new world. Naturally, she wants to fit in, and she finds the clothing around her amazing. A whole new world of fashion to explore? Yes, please!
But for the sake of time at first, her outfit was a quick kitbash—a few pieces put together into something that looked okay, so we could start rolling out frames.
Once production was moving, we wanted to give her a more deliberate magic academy look: inspired by anime, fun, and sexy. We took inspiration from Japanese school uniforms, added some fantasy flair, and gave her that little chest window. 👀
Meanwhile, Spelltech’s world was taking shape around her. As its Victorian fantasy style became more defined, her outfit needed a little extra… something, something… ✨
A touch of elegance. A more tailored academy look. Something that felt at home in this world and suited Lula’s fiery personality.

Different mages have different affinities, so they train in different classes, Fire, Water, and more.
The different emblems help identify those specializations within a shared academy uniform.
It’s a small detail, but these are the things we enjoy building into Spelltech: clothing that tells you something about the person wearing it and the world they live in.

I prefer the uniform on the right 😎👍. Will it be possible to swap between the three while playing, as though they were different skins? Are the crystals the different types of magic that Lula can unlock?
Oh I hope we have time and budget to do that swapping between costomes that's one of my nice to have goals, not sure we'll get there, but would be awesome. the affinities are the types of magic divisions the school has, training is different for each, so they have general classes for everyone, like principals of magic, or incantations, or history of magic etc, but then they have practical classes where they divide by affinity, an illusion magic affinity, fire affinity, water and earth, each need very different training and requrie different instructors to lead them.
Im interested in the game but just to clarify is this sfx only ? The steam tags just say visual novel yet you mention animations. Is this strictly a story driven novel with no adult scenes ?
It’s a Fantasy Isekai Visual Novel, it’s anime inspired, so we have all that entails, lots of action, adventure, and some bonding scenes. Images, lots of animations, and yes on the romance, as a payoff to choose your companion that you like, Similar to the game Dispatch or Fate Night. Or Jobless Reincarnation. No adult scenes.
