๐ณ๏ธ POLL: Sub-folders in my #Sej folder?
Should I include my sub-folders in my "#Sej" folder so that your "#Sej" folder is organized like my "#Sej" folder?
I started including a "#Sej" folder in my releases for two reasons:
The hashtag "#" prefix in the folder name ensures my overrides will load before any other overrides found in any other folders in your Mods folder as long as those other folders don't have an exclamation mark "!" prefixing their folder names (or a hashtag "#" followed by any letter before "S" or a number... ๐น). This avoids having to fuss over "Resource.cfg" file modifications to customize your load priority.
To help keep your Mods folder organized and ensure you can find my mods easily should you ever need to remove one or replace a bunch because I changed my filename format.
I give you my "#Sej" folder, but I use a collection of sub-folders inside my "#Sej" folder to organize my mods by group or sub-group.
โ//โ WHAT IT WOULD LOOK LIKE:
Right now you have just my "#Sej" folder, so your folder looks like this:
Documents\Electronic Arts\The Sims 4\Mods\#Sej\*.package
My sub-folders use my "grouping prefix", so my folder looks like this:
..\Mods\#Sej\ANIM - I intend to change this to "ANIO".
..\Mods\#Sej\AXGW
..\Mods\#Sej\BUGFIX
..\Mods\#Sej\CASA
..\Mods\#Sej\CASFilters
..\Mods\#Sej\CASO
..\Mods\#Sej\CASR
..\Mods\#Sej\CASR_Bloat
..\Mods\#Sej\FOMO
..\Mods\#Sej\MAP
..\Mods\#Sej\RESO
..\Mods\#Sej\RESO_Silencio
..\Mods\#Sej\SGFX
..\Mods\#Sej\SGFX_MainMenu
..\Mods\#Sej\TUNO
..\Mods\#Sej\TUNO_DrNo
..\Mods\#Sej\WRBL
..\Mods\#Sej\WRBL_Wigs
..\Mods\#Sej\XTKO
... etc., et cetera.
โ//โ A FILENAME CHANGE IS ON THE HORIZON:
I also want to shorten all of my "grouping prefixes" in my post titles to match my sub-folders, e.g. "CAS Overrides for Goth Galore Kit" becomes "CASO: Goth Galore Kit" and so on.
And I've been considering shortening my filenames to match, e.g. "sej_CASOvrdMERG_*" becomes "sej_CASOMERG_*".
When I change the format of my filenames, I update all of my mods and re-release them.
If I remember correctly, this has happened twice since I started sharing my mods, though not within the last year. I'd need to verify the abbreviated abbreviations works for everything before rolling it out though.
I'll add a screenshot of what my "#Sej" folder looks like when toss back in all of my sub-folders. I usually just have my SGFX overrides and a handful of stuff in when I'm actively working on anything, so right now it's quite bare-bones.

My mojo contains a modified Resource.cfg file, so no matter what you decide, I will still rearrange it my way ๐๐คฃ
