šŸ¦‹ [FIXED] Update 2/25/2025 broke even more bodies after half-arsing our spine fix. Seriously?! -- Update 3/6/2025 FINALLY fixed the Deformer Maps.

Every time I talk about this, it's going to be borderline ranting. Just prepare yourselves. When I actually start troubleshooting, my mind will hopefully be more "work-oriented" and less "These incompetent !@#$s keep breaking the !@#$ing game! YOU HAVE ONE !@#$ING JO-" actually, it's quite possible that these devs are overworked and stretched thin and might not even be Sims 4 devs - I know how companies like Electronic Arts operate. šŸ‘¹

F.Y.I. That blue "DIC" background is !@#$ing ugly. Who is designing this !@#$? Just go back to the pretty vector background. !@#$'s sake! I need to put aside some time to gather a collection of images for my different posts. I'm kinda just winging it while waiting for Patreon to roll out those changes they "teased" that will allow us to change post type on the fly - if they ever.

Anyway...

I don't really want to look into this right now because I am legitimately fed up with EAxis, but <INHALES SHARPLY> I am unfortunately sometimes good at troubleshooting, and even if I can't fix it, I can maybe track it down.

I had a discussion with a simmer over on MTS concerning this "bug" - the !@#$ing "bug" is EAxis... I'm sorry - and they informed me that my BUGFIX for Our Broken Bodies is not fixing this for them.

If - IF - these things are related, and IF I'm right in my guessessment that EAxis removed the Deformer Map dependency - how else could our spines be fixed if the Deformer Maps are still broken - then the BUGFIX won't help, and there's no avenue of testing that will tell us if this is Deformer Maps apart from finding and reinstating that dependency, and I have no idea where to look for that.

NO DEFORMER MAPS WERE MODIFIED IN UPDATE 2/25/2025, so it's not that they broke a different Deformer Map. I've already ruled that out.

The problem is that we know EAxis went poking around other !@#$ concerning bodies and it's possible they just !@#$ing broke everything.

I'll do the same thing I did that led me to the fix for our broken spines.

With problems like this where you don't know what the !@#$ is going on, it's better to eliminate culprits than "try to find a fix". Trust me, I wasted at least FOUR (4) of those SEVEN (7) days that it took me to fix our broken spines "trying to find a fix" before resorting to eliminating culprits.

But first, I need to reproduce this "bug" consistently. It appears to only occur with simmer-created sims. Who wants to make some babbling babbies with me? 😹

⚔ !@#$ GETS DONE WHEN IT'S IN YOUR FACE:

We have identified the cause of an issue with Child Sims experiencing body distortion, and we are working to release an update which will resolve this issue in existing saves. Child Sims in brand new saves will not be affected by this bug. In the meantime, you can manually restore your Sims by using the following workaround:

  • Open the cheat window with CTRL+SHIFT+C.  Console folks, you can plug in a USB keyboard to do so.

    • Type in ā€œtestingcheats trueā€ and hit enter.

    • Type in ā€œCAS.fulleditmodeā€ and hit enter.

  • Shift click on your Child Sim and select ā€œModify in CASā€ from the pie menu.

  • In the top left of the screen, change the gender of your Child Sim, and then change it back.

  • The Sim should be back to normal, click the tick button in the bottom right of the screen to return to Live mode.

  • To remove cheats, open the cheat window with CTRL+SHIFT+C.

    • Type in ā€œCAS.fulleditmode falseā€ and hit enter.

    • Type in ā€œtestingcheats falseā€ and hit enter.

Now ask the question, why did it take SEVEN (7) MONTHS to "fix" our spines?

TBC...
