✮ // ⋆ TOTES "SIMPLE" MOD DESCRIPTION:

This is my fourth FOMO Unlock.

This unlocks all Event Rewards whether or not you started or completed the Live Event.

This does not unlock the Event Quests for immediate completion. I'm here to ensure you don't miss out on the rewards. I couldn't care less about the quests, sorry. 😹

Cheers!

✮ // ⋆ TABLE OF CATENTS:

• INSTALL INSTRUCTIONS -- Self-explanatory.

• LIVE EVENT COMPATIBILITY -- I cater to everyone, unlike EAxis.

• A RANT TO REMIND YOU WHY WE'RE HERE -- Self-explanatory.

• PROJECT MIRRORS -- This project, but Elsweyr. 🐱

• ZIP CONTAINS -- A complete list of this mod's archives and files.

✮ // ⋆ INSTALL INSTRUCTIONS:

The following options must be enabled for the mod and this patch to work properly:

• GAME OPTIONS » OTHER » "Enable Custom Content and Mods"

—

These are ZIP archives. They can be opened or extracted with:

• Windows Explorer on Windows -- https://../windows/zip-and-unzip-files

• Finder on Mac -- https://../mac/zip-and-unzip-files-and-folders

I personally use 7-Zip for all of my zipping needs. It's free and it's open-source:

• 7-Zip for Windows -- https://7-zip.org

—

SGFX Patch archives do not contain a "#Sej" folder. These archives are tailored to match the third-party archive. In other words, if the third-party archive has folders, then the SGFX Patch archive will have the same folders.

• 1️⃣ EXIT the game.

• 2️⃣ DOWNLOAD the ZIP archive.

• 3️⃣ OPEN or EXTRACT the ZIP archive.

• 4️⃣ DRAG N' DROP or MOVE the "#Sej" folder into the following folder:

  • Documents » Electronic Arts » The Sims 4 » "Mods"

• 5️⃣ Choose "Replace the file in the destination" if prompted to "Replace or Skip Files":

• 6️⃣ LAUNCH the game.

✮ // ⋆ LIVE EVENT COMPATIBILITY AND SCORCHED EARTH:

I fine-tune my FOMO Unlocks for "Live Event Compatibility".

This means they can remain in your Mods folder while the Live Event is "live" and they will not interfere with event progression.

All new FOMO items are unlocked and available in their respective locations but you can still complete the event quests and progress through the event chain to ensure the "account entitlements" for the new FOMO items are added to your account data.

—

Live Event Compatibility only concerns the event progress chain and does not affect the event quests in Live Mode in any way.

If an Unlock isn't Live Event Compatible, you might see broken item images in the event progress chain, or the "Claim" button won't work, or the little junk items in-between the new FOMO items won't be added to your inventory when claiming them, etc.

—

After the event ends, I update the Unlock to remove all "Live Event Compatibility" fine-tuning.

I call this the "Scorched Earth" update.

✮ // ⋆ A RANT TO REMIND YOU WHY WE'RE HERE:

The following is not directed at "you", dear member/visitor, it is for EAxis and Electronic Arts.

—

Murphy's Law states, "anything that can go wrong, will go wrong."

Here's the thing though, I'm also one of those "wrong" things.

I understand that the ship has sailed where putting an end these bullshit Live Events is concerned - and to be fair, I'm fine with the actual in-game event idea. So, how about this...

If EAxis starts unlocking Live Event FOMO rewards for all simmers on all platforms at a reasonable time after the event ends, I WILL STOP DOING "FOMO UNLOCKS" AND I WILL STOP EXPLAINING HOW TO D.I.Y. "FOMO UNLOCKS" FOR FUTURE FOMO EVENTS.

I, and I'm sure I can speak for all estimated 70+ million of us, can totes tolerate a Patreon-esque THREE (3) week "Early Access" period.

In case you're wondering where I got that figure from -- https://ir.ea.com/press-releases/press-release-details/2023/The-Sims-4-Becomes-the-Most-Widely-Played-Game-in-the-23-Year-History-of-the-Franchise-With-More-Than-70-Million-Players-Worldwide/default.aspx

Either that, or you figure out a more unscrupulous and not-so-easily-thwarted way to fuck over all of us - the Sims community who love this franchise and keep you well fed beyond our wildest imagination. Maybe not you, the developers - we know they probably pay y'all pennies while overworking you - but you, Electronic Arts, the estimated $36.94 BILLION DOLLAR publisher.

I am not as skilled as "He Who Must Not Be Named", but I am relentless, and I despise your FOMO bullshit.

We wouldn't be here if you weren't such an incorrigible asshat about this.

Now back to our regularly scheduled programming. 💜

✮ // ⋆ ZIP CONTAINS (0) TS4SCRIPT + (1) PACKAGE:

This is a simple Tuning override.

This should NEVER contain TS4SCRIPT files, BATCH files, EXE files, or anything other than PACKAGE files, my "#Sej" folder, and a sub-folder.

This section exists as a reminder that we are in someone's crosshairs.

Rogue TS4SCRIPT files, BATCH files, EXE files, etc., encountered where they don't belong could contain malicious PYTHON script or other !@#$ that will attempt to infect your device and steal your personal information when executed by you or the game. Malware can ruin lives. Don't !@#$ around.
