🧷 [PENDING] Sejian's Boutique - An odd little Pie mod for the fashionista in you. 👾 10/15/24 #3 - Encountering potential "bugs" in code while refining my code.

────⋆⋅🛍️ CAN WE PRONOUNCE IT "BUCKET"?

*️⃣ Untether this mod from EP16 and make it BG compatible: ❓

0️⃣ "Costumize" one of my outfits for proof of concept. ✔️

  • Head to heel, baby! Upper body, lower body, shoes, gloves, wrist, necklace, makeup and the mother!@#$in' hairstyle! YEEEEEAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHH! WHAT?!

  • Now listen to some Crunk! I have a very diverse music library.

1️⃣ Figure out how to remove the underlying outfit so bits don't remain. ✔️

2️⃣ Figure out if I can change hair color. I can already change hair. ❓

  • And if I can't, then promote my hair wigs. I personally don't need this to work because I make hair wigs and I can configure my costumes to use my wigs and my eyebrows! Did you know I make wigs and eyebrows that work independent of hair color? It's part of my Wearables™ Collection! I can make functioning wigs out of every hairstyle in the game. I can make functioning wigs out of custom content hair. You can use any color you want with the wig and the eyebrows with any outfit! It's awesome! It was my solution to being a redhead but wanting black hair for my Goth Galore outfit! Yes, I know other creators can do this and yes, I know there's a very old tutorial floating around online, but none of them are me and my method is perfection! 😹

  • If I can figure out how to do this, I can do that other mod 'hair color determined by emotion'. There's a command to change skintone but not hair color! If I knew how or where to code this in I'd do it myself! (╯'□')╯︵ ┻━┻

3️⃣ Figure out how to add emotion buffs minus the EAxis convoluted nonsense. ❓

4️⃣ Can I make this work like my WiP Gender Options Pie Menu works for "Target" sims? ❓

5️⃣ [TO BE DETERMINED]

6️⃣ [TO BE DETERMINED]

────⋆⋅🎀 AND CAN I HAVE SOME SEQUINS?

👾 10/15/24 #3 - I'm almost certain this is wrong. Everything else appears to be coded correctly except this one entry controlling Full Body rarity randomization. This is for Trendy, which came with the High School Years Expansion Pack. How long ago was that released? I remember being present for the !@#$-show pre-update.

Correction, this batch of code came with the HSY pre-update (if I'm not mistaken), but it affects everyone because it's a Base Game config file, huzzah! Premium content packs !@#$ing with your game whether you own it or not! 😹

A BUGFIX for this might already exist in the wild, but I can't say where. I figure one of two creators should already have it but I'll make one myself since I have no idea - 🎁 and done, see the Modding Announcements Post. I need to decide on a BUGFIX filename format. I generally don't give things fancy names like other folks.

🎀 10/15/24 #2 - I've shown you a preview of my "Boutique" with my GGK "Goth Galore!" outfit and my Base Game "Gold Bikini", but let's refine the code with a few "Imports", starting with "ARCANE JINX (UPDATED)" by Mucammo. I intend to do two entries for this - one for just the outfit and one for the outfit and the CC (if possible), but we'll start with the simple one first.

I will do a "Notify members that you edited this post" when this is ready.

You can find "ARCANE JINX (UPDATED)" here: https://mucammo.tumblr.com/tagged/arcane%20jinx

P.S.: I could potentially untether this outfit from EP06_GetFamous, EP08_DiscoverUniversity and SP02_PerfectPatioStuff but it would require me modifying and re-sharing Mucammo's packages and that might be a step too far.

🎯 10/15/24 #1 - I had my fill of dinos, for now. I've also refined my 🏃‍♀️ Walkstyles code. Now I refocus on the 🛍️ Bucke-BOUTIQUE.

🦕 10/12/24 #1 - Dinos are happening! I'll be back later. I've been refining some of my code using other code I stumbled upon that's supposedly more efficient - in the sense that 6 lines of code can do the work of 40 and allows me to separate some things without having to update all the things all the time.

🏃‍♀️ 10/10/24 #2 - No 💤 naps nor 🦕 dinos, but I finally got the little icons not so little. I'm going to quickly cobble together the Ghost walk style then... well, there's that other one I was watching too... I will get back on track!

🏃‍♀️ 10/10/24 #1 - I got all excited, jumped into Live and forgot I didn't add the new interaction to the injector so it didn't initially pop up. 😹 I am certain I can change the slow walk and the run animation to all use Reaper's little float. You'll lose the run speed, maybe, but you too can become Death. 💀 I wonder if I could code this to give the ability to resurrect other sims while using the walkstyle. I can certainly make a terror buff so strong that everysim dies in my presence. <CACKLES MANIACALLY> What machinations I wrought! It's 3 AM. Time for 💤 naps or 🦕 dinos, or I might fail at both and come right back like last night.

🏃‍♀️ 10/9/24 #4 - Pfft. Fixed. 😹 I'll wrap up the coding for this and lay it aside, cause I don't actually know what to use for 6 of the remaining 8 walkstyles. I said custom walkstyles weren't a priority, but I need to know if I can do them, so I'm going to attempt making a Ghost or Grim walkstyle trait.

🏃‍♀️ 10/9/24 #3 - I couldn't help myself, but also, I need to refine my code. I'm sure I can make this work! In that pic of Darling, the Interaction is pulling MY display name instead of theirs. Their Default is supposed to be highlighted because they're Default, I'm the Creepy one!

🎀 10/9/24 #2 - Neither 💤 naps nor 🦕 dinos happened, but "Walkstyles" happened! There are more walk styles in the game than just the ones available to us in CAS. I might be able add some of them, but this isn't a priority right now. "Walkstyles" works for both Active and Target sims!

🎀 10/9/24 #1 - I'm almost done building the foundation but there's still a bit more to do.

I want to make some interactions affect Target sims. This will take some work but I've done it with "Gender Options" and will do it again with "Walkstyles" so it's not really a problem.

The "Wear Costume" interaction you see is the unlocked holidays Pie Menu. I intend to overhaul it. I'm going to replace the current SINGLE (1) PACK-SPECIFIC holiday costume config with multiple configs for various packs, giving everyone access to various costumes depending on which packs you own. I'll have a better idea how possible *️⃣ untethering is after I code in some Base Game costumes and nuke my INSTALL FOLDER.

As I explained in 💬 10/6/24 #4 (as I understood it back then) there is at least three (3) ways to build my Boutique and I intend to build it each and every way because I want to show off - I could end this sentence right here - what we can do with this. 😹

And I'm going to code in a couple Arcane: League of Legends custom outfits made by one of our community's talented creators because Season 2 of Arcane is coming this November and I am excited! I'll provide links to their download posts.

Also, I'm beginning to have an issue; my mods are overlapping. "Gender Options" and "Walkstyles" are AnimXGenWear addons, not Boutique addons, but because they both utilize the Clothing Preference trait, they both need a custom interaction for it and I have no intention of bloating the Pie Menu with multiple interactions that do the same thing. "Outfits and Intimates" isn't even necessary for Boutique, I just can't stand the "Outfits" Pie Menu and I can make it better.

There's also the "Troubleshoot Outfits" Pie Menu to do but that can be done after... or in between.

For now though. I'm taking a break and going to 💤 nap or play with 🦕 dinosaurs. It's 3 AM and I've been at this for hours.

This is how I need to build mods; grab an idea and push it through to completion without getting too distracted. My Dust Bunny mod is still PENDING, dammit! In the future, I promise to try control my excitement whenever I stumble upon interesting code or at least shelve it and return to the active project like I'm trying to do with this.

👹 10/8/24 #4 - Let's criticize Costume Box for a hot minute. When I pushed the update 10/5/2024 of my Costume Box BUGFIX, I included FIFTY-ONE (51) screenshots (one for each costume) with the BUGFIX installed but without my CAS Overrides installed, to show how much work still needs to be done. I want to spotlight four of these because the issue I highlighted in them doesn't need to happen. The code to prevent it from happening is already used by the holiday costumes.

The Costume Box "Mask" costume is a new EP16 costume. It took the 🍰 for worst coded costume. It's just one item, the mask, but it also forces you into your Formal outfit. This isn't necessary. This also isn't what I want to highlight. The rest of the costume shown is my BGC Formal outfit which comprises of my template makeup (random makeup tossed together so I don't lose my saturation and transparency customization), a full-body dress, sheer black tights, black heels and long black gloves:

The following is what happens when you wear a Costume Box costume, ANY Costume Box costume, over an outfit that has parts that aren't replaced by the costume. Notice my makeup, gloves and tights aren't removed? THIS DOESN'T NEED TO HAPPEN! EAxis know how to code this so that those parts are removed, but they didn't. The holiday costumes don't work like this. Those holiday costumes are triplicated in the Costume Box, but EAxis didn't triplicate the code that removes the extra outfit parts! WHY?!

(╯'□')╯︵ ┻━┻

Sure, the code needs tweaking for it to work with the Costume Box, BUT EVEN A <ROCKET SCIENTIST> LIKE ME FIGURED IT OUT! The Costume Box is a highlighted feature of EP16 Lovestuck. It ain't free, you gotta pay for it, so why is it so broken?!

💬 10/8/24 #3 - I am THE rocket scientist, baby! It's possible that with what I've learned so far, that I can create Troubleshooting interactions for RESETTING FOOTWEAR when custom Shoes are improperly flagged for Werewolves, etc., for RESETTING NUDE/BATHING OUTFIT when custom CAS items improperly flagged for Nude randomizes onto your sim and for FULLY RANDOMIZING TOWNIE OUTFITS when they randomize like Clownies.

👹 10/8/24 #2 - SITUATION COSTUMES ARE PERSISTENT! I despise the Costume Box even more now. The old holiday costumes are coded to OVERWRITE the SITUATION outfit, and SITUATION IS AN OUTFIT, it's not a temporary thing, it's just hidden! EAxis could'v- <screams silently> Where was I? I unlocked the Target sim Outfit Manager! I really want my own Outfit Manager now.

🎀 10/8/24 #1 - I considered "Outfits and Personals" but that sounded lame. Pfft! I can always change it later if I have a better idea... but the Freezer Bonie is staying. Is cute! 😹 I've dragged "Utensil Preference" into it and I'm going to grab "Disable Attraction". I will also reorder the rest of this Pie Menu because ick, it's irritating! Why is "Be Gross" and "Flaunt Wealth" there, and why is "Go Jogging". "Sit on Ground", "Cloudgaze", "Practice Singing" and "Go Home" not all together?! Who ordered this thing?! I completely forgot where "Sit on Ground" was and had to 🦆 it!

💬 10/7/24 #2 - I'm already hijacking EAxis' "Outfits..." Pie Menu for my Boutique, so how about we expand this !@#$ even more? I'm unlocking the holiday Wear Costumes Pie Menu and dragging it into Outfits. I've found the SITUATION outfit switch. I can't add it to the popup Outfits Manager thing, though I so wish I could duplicate and reprogram a popup Manager, so let's do a full Pie Menu for switching outfits. One already exists by another creator, but they ain't me. The limitation with Interactions for switching outfits is it will only ever equip the first outfit of the category, but that's fine. I'm going to attempt to make this whole Pie hierarchy work for both Active and Target sims. No promises, but I'll do what I can. I want an easy way to manipulate Target sim outfits and I know it's possible through Pie Interactions because I've coded my WiP Gender Options interactions to affect Target sims independently of Active sims. I might rename "Outfits..." to something else while I'm at it. I also intend to drop my Walkstyles Pie Menu in here. I was beginning to wonder where to put my Gender Options and Walkstyles and then it hit me with Boutique, "Just use Outfits!". I don't like a bloated Pie Menu. I need order and organization. Maybe "Outfits and Intimates..."! How does that sound?

💬 10/7/24 #1 - I could maybe also do away with costumes and have the interaction actually permanently change the outfit you're wearing... This sounds more like a me thing though, cause I can code in every one of my outfits right now. I accidentally did it when I was mucking around with the Interaction code. I'm taking a small detour - I want to code an interaction that equips the hidden SITUATION outfit if possible. I want to see how holiday costumes work. I need more data!

💬 10/6/24 #4 - There are three ways I've found this works:

  • The old holiday (I think this is Seasons) "Wear Costumes" interactions replace the SITUATION outfit. If you switch outfits or the game triggers an outfit switch, you lose access to the costume and you have to reapply it. I don't know if that means the costume is removed or if we just lose access because we can't choose to wear the SITUATION outfit.

  • The new Costume Box interactions apply the costume to whatever outfit you're wearing unless it's a blacklisted outfit like BATHING, SLEEP and I have no idea what the SPECIAL outfit is, however, like the holiday costumes, if you switch outfits or the game triggers an outfit switch the appearance modifier of the costume is lost, so again, it's not persistent.

  • Somehow I've stumbled onto persistent costumes that remain applied even when you switch outfits or the game triggers an outfit switch. I've tested this by applying the costume to my Athletic outfit then switching to Everyday and triggering a jog. The costume persisted during and after the jog and even when the game switched me back to Everyday. Now if I can make costumes apply to outfits independently, I could wear a different costume on every outfit!

💬 10/6/24 #3 - I need to refine my Interactions. My Buffs appear fine but my Interactions are overly convoluted. Also, there has to be a cleaner way to remove outfit parts so the costume applies cleanly. The method I cobbled together works but it won't work for all the madness I want to do with this. I'm seeing commands for other crap but none that do exactly the two things I want, which are removing the parts and changing hair color!

✂️ 10/6/24 #2 - I've figured out how to strip sims before equipping the costumes so no outfit parts remain visible. I encountered this with the Costume Box. My BGC Everyday has a beanie and costumes didn't remove it. Also, when "Mask" swapped my outfit to BGC Formal, my makeup, gloves and tights remained visible with other costumes. There might be a cleaner way to achieve this but I don't yet know how, so I've done something cheeky and it works like a charm.

💬 10/6/24 #1 - Did you know there are over 500 potential costumes in this game? I didn't. EP16's Costume Box gave us 51 and 2/3 of them are old costumes we've seen before.

💀 10/6/24 #0 - I started typing up this post before my net went down in the wee hours of the mewning. 9 hours no internet from around 2 AM til 11 AM + EA's Offline Mode nonsense = yeah, I'm done with this !@#$. Even with the App's unreliable Offline Mode I've avoided "tampering" with my game like that, but if Offline Mode isn't working at all, what am I supposed to do? I owned this game before BG went free. I've spent money on this thing, dammit!

🛍️ 10/5/24 #3 - Pie Menus coded and tested!

🎀 10/5/24 #2 - My favorite Goth Galore outfit is successfully "costumized"!

👽 10/5/24 #1 - I've never done a mod like this before, but that's pretty much the story of everything I've done recently. I went from making CAS Overrides to turning Hearing Aid earrings into true Wearables™, to editing meshes in Blender, to CAS Menu overrides that I haven't shared yet, to so many little Tuning mods like the one for Odd Jobs and the one that removes the outfit change after jogging that I haven't shared yet, to figuring out the FAUX FOLDER so my CAS Overrides don't modded flag, to SGFX mods resurrecting the Dismiss function, to Pie Menu mods with immediate interactions that change traits, to this. Let the hijinks commence! SIXAM DOMINANCE WILL BE SPINE! <cackles maniacally>  If you're wondering how I'm learning these things, I literally sift through thousands upon thousands of game files looking at code. I dissect everything I can find in hopes I'll learn something new that can be applied to an old idea or birth a new idea.

────⋆⋅🦄 I LIKE GLITTERY, COLORFUL THINGS!

FIVE (5) outfits per category has never been enough. I don't use all my outfit slots in every category - well I could, but I don't - but my Everyday, Formal, Athletic and Party has been full for a long time. Every time I CAS Override a content pack, I try to cobble together something cute for my cover screenshot but I'm out of outfit slots, so I can't keep them.

I've resorted to MC Conman's Center's MC CAS shenanigans to rotate my outfits and update my Live sim but those days are over, innit?!

Ever since I went to my first little event thing and saw we had a hidden Wear Costumes interaction, I wanted a mod to unlock and expand it and I especially wanted something to give me more outfits. There are mods out there that muck around with costumes and there are mods and tutorials for modding Styled Looks, but they're just not it. They're not what I want... and this sounds very similar to AnimXGenWear's origins, I know.

When Blue Bear told me about the Costume Box I lost my mind for a hot minute, up until I used it and well, we've seen how that went, but still, it meant I had something more robust to dissect other than just SIMS4ME's Wear Costumes override. I have no interest in modding Styled Looks, so lets not even go there.

All of my projects and my progress with modding thus far is breathing life into this and this will breathe life into the next thing I do. Modding is fun! ... and I'm going off on a tangent.

I'm creating three Pie Menus - one is for me, one is for some of the EAxis costumes we've seen and some from the ones we haven't, and the last one is for you. Providing I'm able to accomplish everything I set out to do here, including the main thing of untethering the mod from EP16, I will provide documentation and example PACKAGES so you can mod your own outfits in as "costumes".
