These overrides attempt to fix the litany of improper PartFlags plaguing CAS items.
This is a LIMITED INITIAL RELEASE that currently contains (104) CAS overrides, but we are nowhere close to being done since BASE GAME has over (1,000) CAS items, and I mean to fix every single one of them.
"Patches" will be created as necessary, including the "Fashion Stereotypes Patch" and a "Child Underwear Patch". Learn more in the CAS OVERRIDE HIGHLIGHTS section below.
CAS Overrides (CASO) take a lot of time, effort, and focus. Show your eternal gratitude by joining my Patreon and liking (β₯) the post, thou ungrateful whelps! <CACKLES> I'M KIDDING! I'm just having some fun with the "gratitude and entitlement" buffoonery. πΉ

ONCE UPON A TIME - I'm trying to do this more efficiently.
CASO HIGHLIGHTS - My most "controversial" changes.
CASO PRIMARY OBJECTIVE - The main things I attempt to fix.
CASO SECONDARY OBJECTIVE - I attempt to fix everything else too.
DEADLINESβ’ - A list of sadness and disappointment.
ββ ONCE UPON A TIME:
Once upon a time, CAS Overrides (CASO) included fixes for additional things like busted textures and meshes, however, with the advent of Resource Overrides (RESO) that work independently of and are compatible with CAS Overrides (CASO), I have refocused CAS Overrides (CASO) to just fixing the darn tootin' PartFlags so we can get them done faster.
Once upon a time, I tried to override every item in CAS included in the specific content pack before releasing it, however, that takes a lot of time and it's kinda discouraging when you're staring down hundreds upon hundreds of overrides that each need to be done individually and manually. <INHALES SHARPLY> I'm a perfectionist, but I can be a perfectionist and do my CAS Overrides (CASO) in stages/batches to avoid burnout and eye strain while still getting something done, right? Yes! I just need to keep reminding myself of this.
ββ CAS OVERRIDES (CASO) - HIGHLIGHTS:
FASHION STEREOTYPES "PATCH" - For teens and older, I fine-tune all clothes to match the "Physical Frame" it was made for and the corresponding "Fashion Choice". This is the only proper way to do this without creating a confusing mess in CAS while unrestricting all clothes for all sims, but it means that feminine items (like dresses and skirts) that were made with/for the masculine "Physical Frame" will appear under the "Masculine Fashion Choice" filter, and vice versa. I compensate for this by disabling "Allow For Random" on these items, but I understand that some simmers might still feel "a kinda how" about it, so, being the considerate and inclusive megalomaniac that I am, I create a "Fashion Stereotypes Patch". When used with the main CAS Override (CASO), this "patch" re-organizes the offending items back under their "stereotype" filters while keeping all of my other fixes intact.
TOWELS - There are two sets of towels; one set is visible in CAS and the other is HIDDEN and used for Live Mode outfit generation. Both sets now match the sim's Physical Frame. As a bonus, I reconfigured the HIDDEN Live Mode towel to randomly select (1) of the (11) available swatch colors every time it is worn.
UNDERWEAR FOR TEENS AND OLDER - I haven't decided yet, but I might override the salmon undies for women and black briefs for men with their white variants.
UNDERWEAR FOR CHILDREN + "PATCH" - I can fix this the way it's supposed to be with the fugly blue underwear for girls and the fugly purple-y briefs for boys, but why? Once upon a time, boys and girls wore "gender-neutral" white garments - dresses - because they were easy to maintain. It wasn't til consumerism (and some bigotry) turned its gaze to kids that the nonsense with gendered colors started. With this in mind, I've CLONED the plain white undies and configured it for "DefaultForBodyType[X]" for both boys and girls. Furthermore, I removed the "belly breaker" top that EAxis makes girls wear. Children literally use the same body mesh/model/rig. I understand some simmers might feel "a kinda how" about this with all the centuries of demonizing female bodies and nudity, so I'll make a "patch" that fixes this the way EAxis intended (before they broke it some years ago and couldn't be arsed to fix it), with the fugly undies and "belly breaker" top for girls and the fugly briefs for boys.
ββ CAS OVERRIDES (CASO) - PRIMARY OBJECTIVE:
ALLOW FOR RANDOM is the root of all evil.
Obnoxiously Bloatedβ’ items are removed from the randomization pool.
Low quality and/or poorly made items are removed from the randomization pool unless they're absolutely necessary for "Situation" outfit generation.
Heavily "themed" items are removed from the randomization pool, because no matter how good it looks in a simmer-made outfit, it will look silly when randomized with "regular" items.
RESTRICT OPPOSITE GENDER (ROGender) is REMOVED from all clothes.
This "unlocks" all clothes for use by all sims regardless of their "Gender" trait.
Improper "Restrict Opposite Gender" flags are the #1 culprit affecting transframe sims. It not only blocks access to some clothes, but also locks transframe sims into wearing the wrong clothes, which results in body deformities.
RESTRICT OPPOSITE FRAME (ROFrame) is REMOVED from all clothes.
This "unlocks" all clothes for use by all sims regardless of their "Physical Frame" trait.
Doing this requires fine-tuning "Fashion Choice" flags as mentioned below.
FASHION CHOICE is fine-tuned to match "Gender" flags on all clothes.
All clothes made for the Feminine Frame will show under the "Feminine Fashion Choice" filter and all clothes made for the Masculine Frame will show under the "Masculine Fashion Choice" filter.
No more Masculine Frame Tops and Bottoms appearing under the "Feminine Fashion Choice" filter for Female/Feminine Frame sims and !@#$ing with your body.
Improper "Fashion Choice" flags are the #1 culprit affecting cisframe sims. An item with both "Fashion Choice" flags and no "Restrict Opposite" flags is visible under both "Fashion Choice" filters. This misleads the you into thinking the item was made for both "Physical Frames", which results in body deformities when the item is worn by a sim with a "Physical Frame" it wasn't made for. EAxis has done this with a number of items.
DISPLAY INDEX is fine-tuned to match PACK ID.
CAS is a disorganized mess because EAxis can't figure out yet that they should just match the "DisplayIndex" to the numerical "Pack ID" and it would keep everything neatly grouped together. I suppose they haven't figured this out because the "Pack ID" is also a disorganized mess. <HEAVY SIGH>
EXCLUDE FLAGS + MODIFIERS are things I don't usually prioritize, but I should.
"ExcludePartFlag" is used to hide various other CAS items or even whole body parts when an item is worn, e.g. Wearablesβ’ Wigs are Hats that "exclude" Hair when worn, which prevents the meshes and textures from overlapping. Most Wearablesβ’ work like this.
An improper "ExcludeModifier" caused the bug-eyes on that SP48 Goth Galore Kit hoodie. It took me 10+ hours to figure it out at the time because I didn't understand "Exclude" back then.
ββ CAS OVERRIDES (CASO) - SECONDARY OBJECTIVE:
There is no consistency with EAxis, which is why CAS Overrides (CASO) expanded from just the "PRIMARY OBJECTIVE" into fixing literally everything. For instance:
OUTFIT TYPE / BODY TYPE is usually fine, but there are some items that need to be recategorized for consistency, compatibility with other items, or just plain rationality.
AGE is usually fine, but there have been instances where EAxis has flagged items for the wrong age groups.
GENDER is usually fine, but there are instances when EAxis screws them up, like that underwear in EP16 Lovestruck (that they still haven't fixed).
OCCULT is often a mess. This is used for randomization and it is the #1 culprit behind those scars appearing on occult sims. Also, why is Merfolk enabled on almost everything?
STYLE is sometimes a bloated mess of unnecessary flags.
COLORS are often missing.
SUB PART TYPE is sometimes a mess. EAxis apparently doesn't know the difference between Sweaters and Sweatshirts, but to be fair, I didn't either until I educated myself, but I'm also not on the developer team, am I? No!
HAIR LENGTH + HAIR TYPE + HAIR TEXTURE is sometimes a mess because EAxis sometimes can't tell the difference between short hair and long hair. πΉ
SECONDARY DISPLAY INDEX has all but been abandoned lately (along with DISPLAY INDEX).
HIDE FOR OCCULT + U1 + U2 is missing a lot of Werewolf flags. I don't understand this one. Are our Werewolves supposed to be nude or do they want us wearing clothes and accessories that don't quite fit? Why isn't literally everything that isn't made for Werewolves, blacklisted from Werewolves?! <HUFFS>
ββ DEADLINESβ’ AND DISAPPOINTMENT:
"Deadlinesβ’" is my way of acknowledging that "Maxis" a.k.a. "The Sims Team" is not necessarily to blame for all of this, and that the true villain of this story is Electronic Arts.
This is a list of busted, broken, and/or half-arsed textures and meshes, etc. Wasn't this list supposed to be part of the CAS Reviews? Maybe we do two - a "preliminary" list in the CAS Review and a comprehensive list in the CAS Override? Yeah, I think so.
If I fix anything listed here, it will be marked with a βοΈ and released in a Resource Override (RESO). If I find it has been fixed by another creator, I'll link it somewhere if it's compatible with my CAS Override (CASO). If you notice something I missed, let me know in a comment so I can add it to the list.
I'm not terribly good at textures. I can clean up or enhance some things, but in the case of items where the entire texture is super low quality and sad to look at, there's nothing I can do yet, sorry. There are limits to my awesomeness, unfortunately.
CLOTHING BODY:
yfBody_EF03TragicClown - Bloatedβ’ and just awful to look at. It is indeed a tragic clown.
yfBody_EF20FirefighterUniform - Bloatedβ’
yfBody_XUaNHotDog - Bloatedβ’
CLOTHING TOP:
yfTop_25BDAYJacketBomber - Bloatedβ’βοΈ
yxTop_25BDAYJacketBomber - Textures are super low quality and sad to look at. I am super disappointed that they didn't give us an in-game poster with the 25-year anniversary artwork and that they half-arsed this anniversary top.
yfTop_25BDAYTshirt - Bloatedβ’βοΈ
yxTop_25BDAYTshirt - The first two swatch textures are super low quality and sad to look at. I am super disappointed that they didn't give us an in-game poster with the 25-year anniversary artwork and that they half-arsed this anniversary top.
yfTop_BraSports - The Specular Map doesn't match yfBottom_ShortsSports.
yxTop_EF16BodysuitPride - Why does this have Full Body flags?
yfTop_PoloTee_StripeBlueWhite - The texture for this specific swatch has a low quality "patch" on the chest.
yfTop_SweaterCableKnit - Mesh has a pointy bit in the middle of the chest.
yfTop_TshirtRolled - Mesh has a pointy bit in the middle of the chest.
CLOTHING BOTTOM:
yfBottom_ShortsSports - The Specular Map doesn't match yfTop_BraSports.
