When I first started working on v0.8, I genuinely thought it would be another relatively small update.

That clearly didn't happen. 😅

The changelog has grown into one of the largest in the project's history, with new gameplay systems, investigations, reputation mechanics, dorm customization, a revamped perk card system, minigames, and countless quality-of-life improvements and bug fixes.

But if I'm being asked what really defines Version 0.8...

It isn't the new mechanics.

It's the story.

For the first time, NSFW Academy finally feels like a true narrative experience instead of just a sandbox.

Until now, the game has mostly been about exploring systems: making money, raising stats, meeting characters, discovering mechanics, and experimenting with different playstyles. Those systems are still there but they now exist for a reason.

The first semester story gives context to everything you do.

The people you meet matter.

The choices you make matter.

The clues you discover matter.

Even activities that once felt independent now naturally feed into the investigation, your reputation, your relationships, and the larger conflicts happening around campus.

And to bring that story to life in a way that truly feels impactful, Version 0.8 also includes more than 100 new art scenes, helping illustrate key moments, character interactions, and narrative beats throughout the semester. These scenes are meant to make the world feel more grounded, more emotional, and more alive than ever before.

Instead of simply asking, "What should I do today?" the game starts asking, "How do I uncover the truth? Who can I trust? What consequences will my actions have?"

That's the experience I've wanted to build from the very beginning.

Version 0.8 is where all those individual pieces finally start working together as one cohesive game.

📅 Planned Release Schedule

My current goal is to release Version 0.8 to all pledgers within the coming weeks.

Once you've had some time to play it and I've addressed any important feedback, I'll immediately move on to integrating the next Fraternity House. That content will be released as Version 0.8.x for pledgers as soon as it's ready.

If everything stays on schedule, Version 0.8 will then become the public release later this month, while supporters will already be enjoying the additional 0.8.x content.

As always, I'd rather delay a little than ship something I'm not happy with, but this is the roadmap I'm actively working toward.

Not because it has the longest changelog.

But because it finally delivers the experience I've always imagined when I started creating NSFW Academy, a game where the story and the sandbox reinforce each other instead of existing separately.
