(re)New feature | Video Gallery
During the development of a game, I have a general plan of what to do and its deadlines... but it's a dynamic thing, sometimes I change the order of a story or have the idea of doing something new that wasn't planned.
In this case, I know I promised delivery last week, 😬 but while finishing Eric's story, I decided it was worth taking a few extra days to redo a feature that I felt was underutilized and didn't fit the style of the game.
The video gallery on the computer
Until then, this feature was basically like this:
The player would click on one of the items that appear in the menu on the right side and repeat the scene.
As you can see, the way this was done was not only a little confusing, but also quite limited... a few more videos and the menu would take up the entire screen.
This bothered me and restricted me... so I decided to change everything. 😮
Now, when clicking on the video gallery, the player will have a screen more suited to what this feature proposes
In addition to having a preview of the scene, this new screen greatly increases the number of videos that can be included
The idea going forward is that all videos that the player receives from other characters, such as Cody's, will be available in this gallery. Also videos recorded by drones and security cameras.
I also intend to include in some stories videos that Hunter himself records... in this case, showing the same scene that happened in the story but seen from a different angle, from the angle at which Hunter recorded the scene.
Another feature included was the option for the player to “close” the video at any time during the scene and return to the initial gallery.
Previously, once the player started "watching a video", they had to wait until the end of all scenes to return to the computer menu
Of course, the rule still applies that the videos that appear in this gallery will depend on the paths and choices the player makes. Some videos are only shown for example for the slave path, and if the player decides to follow a path (such as Luke and Bear, for example).
To help the player know if any new videos have been added to the gallery, I created a new notification in the game with this message.
Now I'm just finishing up adjusting the old stories, including notifications, and adapting the “videos” to this new format.
The new video gallery will be available starting with release 10. 😎
I'm sure you'll forgive me for going a little over the deadline... because this new feature brings many new possibilities to the game.

I unlocked all the characters and made them my slaves. However I can't find any footage on my computer!
I used to have the Luke and Bear recording, but it's gone now and only Eric Tied Up is available.
Ooh I like this. Could we perhaps get some anonymous/side videos perhaps? Eg stick a camera inside a changing room and it adds some videos. (Perhaps with some familiar characters showing up) Or perhaps Hunter uses the drone to spy on or gets sent videos of the guys out and about? (voyeur type content).
There are certainly some very good suggestions here that could be used in some stories. 😎

This is a great feature—you’re a genius! And so many possibilities indeed 😈 I really hope there’s an option added in the future to record videos with the existing characters and watch them later! Maybe this can be a recording the hunter makes when he takes each of the men to a special destination like a hotel on a holiday (remember you wanted to have this feature of a romantic holiday—really excited for you to work on that on a future update!). Lastly, any idea when the new update will release? All these new features just make me even more impatient to play it this weekend haha
Good point... it's something I've been wanting to do, and the idea of recording a video of the trip is interesting. The release will be soon... I'm just finishing up some final adjustments... the cover, adding the characters to the cast, and checking to see if any dialogue is out of place.
This is an AMAZING idea. Add more videos please, such as when MC sucks off Josh at college during the Josh Hunt. One time happens in that room near the stairs and tha tother time happens in the locker room!! And then some video recording Isaiah too!
The existing stories are more difficult to include scenes in because I didn't create a variable to check whether the scene has already been seen or not... and then old saved games end up causing problems. But maybe it's possible to create some new extra scenes... I'll think about it.

are you going to add more videos on current routes or only on new ones?
I believe that in the existing stories, initially no, because there were no scenes that justified the use of this feature. At least not that I can remember right now.

Eric is the name of the biker who will appear in the next story. When you have doubts about the names of the characters, take a look at the game's initial menu, called Cast. That section was created precisely to make it easier for people to remember all the characters and in which stories they appear.
Were there any videos available to watch? I've already completed the routes for Isaiah, Luke, the delivery guy, Connor, Gale and the man from the army. Which route do we currently unlock these videos on?
For now, there are only four videos that can appear in this gallery. One with Eric (yet to be released). One with Luke and Bear, but only on the path as a slave and if the player decides to share Luke with him. One with Josh and Cody, if the player chooses the relationship path. And one with Matthew and Cody if the player is already close to finishing his story.
This feature looks amazing and I see so many future possibilities for it. Thank you for your hard work.
