NEW DESIGN: Dalmatian (#114)

The next dog breed in our Realistic Flexi Dogs series is the Dalmatian!

The Dalmatian features a 2-part articulated body, movable legs, and a posable tail. It comes with two interchangeable heads — Standard (closed mouth) and Happy (open mouth)—both using a snap-fit joint.

The pup also has its own bandana!

Alongside the STL archive, we’ve included pre-painted .3mf project files for Bambu Studio and Snapmaker OrcaSlicer.

On Plate 2 in the .3mf files, you’ll find several additional spot pattern variations for the heads and bodies. All of these color variations are showcased in the release photos.

On Plate 3 of the Bambu Studio .3mf file, we’ve included body color patterns without neck spots, specifically optimizing them for AMS printing (fewer filament changes means faster print times and less purged filament/waste).

Just like with the Goats keychains (#113) release, we’ve uploaded our watermark-free photos in a separate archive, which you’re free to use for your listings.

Here are our primary 3D printing settings used for these dogs:
Material: Bambu Matte PLA - Charcoal, Ivory White, Terracotta;
Devil Design PLA - Pink.
Printer: Snapmaker U1, Bambu Lab P1S
Nozzle: 0.4
Layer height: 0.16 mm
Infill: 10%
Scale: 85%, 100% and 120%
Slicer: Snapmaker Orca, Bambu Studio

We hope you love this new dog design!

Thank you for your support!
See you soon!

P.S. Yes, we now have a Snapmaker U1 as well! Moving forward, all upcoming designs will include .3mf files for both Bambu Studio and Snapmaker OrcaSlicer.

P.P.S. We originally planned to release the Little Witch from the "Little Dark and Friends" collection next, but the model is proving to be quite intricate and will take more time to finalize. So instead, we put together a mini pup (it's turning out super adorable!) and plan to release it by the end of this week.

Oh, I'm sorry to hear you're running into this issue! I suspect what's happening is that the nozzle catches on the tail and knocks it loose. Assuming your filament is dry, the most likely culprit is insufficient part cooling. The plastic doesn't cool fast enough, causing the overhang on the tail (where it curves toward the body link) to curl upward as it solidifies—which leads directly to the nozzle catching it. I’d recommend looking into that and increasing your fan speed on overhangs. To save time, you can cut the model in your slicer and print just the tail along with the rear body joint as a quick test. Also, if you haven't calibrated this filament yet, it's definitely worth running tests for Pressure Advance (PA), flow rate, and a temp tower. Let me know if this helps sort it out! Best of luck dialing it in!
