Peep Show - S9E2 'Gregory's Beard'

Gregory sounds Canadian
Now you know how we feel when an American actor fails at doing a British accent 😆
Not sure if I'm missing something but isn't Jez's bedroom where the bathroom used to be? I'm sure the bathroom used to be at the end of the corridor and Jez's room used to be the first room as you enter the flat 🤔
This was so funny lol Gregory's accent, wtf was that? That made it even more hilarious I had an inkling he was Irish the way he was trying an American accent 🤣 I love this show so much, great reaction guys. ❤️
Please do Car Share next!
It was funny to see your reaction to the American accent. This is how we Brits feel when we see ourselves in American shows. 🤣 Great reaction as always guys. ❤️
Please watch This Country
WTF is Super Hans doing marrying that downer???
hilarious episode
I just realized we're getting towards the final episodes of Peep Show. It's like the end of an era. Well at least we now have Green Wing to look forward too. :)
Wasn't looking forward to this, but actual Americans reacting to 'Gregory' is funnier than anything in the episode itself
😂😂😂♥♥
I was waiting for this episode! How long have you been filming Jez have sex Mark?
Of course one of your favourite episodes is the worst episode XD
This isn't a great episode and series nine is my least favourite, but I sort of love Super Hans' evolution in late Peep Show. He's probably the only character who displays anything resembling personal growth, but is also still weird enough that he thinks someone as dysfunctional as Mark is a stable influence to aspire to.
I always hated that guy's accent but it never once occurred to me it was fake haha
Jonathan Harden (Gregory) I'd from Belfast and has a Belfast accent. He's done loads of voice over work and regular acting
Absolutely Fabulous 🤩🤩🤩🤩... Darlings..!!??
It turns out Mark was correct about Jeremy being 80% gay.
People slating this ep. It's far from the best, but loads of great bits. Super Hans' vows to Simone crack me up every time.... And the whole Jezz storyline -possibly slightly forced - but def isn't out of character imo... Next episode is abslolutely brilliant imo.
Waiting for all the comment guys to shit their pants about gay Jeremy. Good episode, good series. Except for Gregory’s accent.
Sounds like you’re just wishful thinking, which is kinda S.A.F
Would love to see a Benidorm reaction. It has fun characters, loose stories over the seasons, a special (we all love a special episode reaction) and of course its goofy :)
The actor who plays Super Hans had a minor stroke last April...in real life! He was paralised for 36 hours but he's ok now! Probably not the first time Super Hans has been paralised for that long! I'm glad he's ok ☺️. If no one believes me, Google it! I read it this morning. He's written a book in the style of his character. I think the interview was in The Guardian, just for the Lefties, which I'm also one of...
I can't wait to read the Super Hans book! Or even better, listen to the audiobook version!
Is Outnumbered coming anytime soon. Just rewatching it and think it'll be a good fit. Need to give it a few episodes.
Apparently Jonathan Harden (Gregory) is northern Irish but does have an American mother, so its possible his accent really is a bit messed up, even outside of this fake American one.
That's how all you Americans sound, you just dont know it!
The next episode is one of my favourite. I can’t wait for the reaction 😂
Gregory has to be peepshows worse character
They’ve done car share? Thats not in the back catalog?
I think it’s just the dogging clip they’ve seen.
To be fair to Mark he's the one paying for everything! Jeremy provides nothing, I can't entirely blame him for being militant about the heating use.
The Shamen as wedding vows, wow.....
For me this is the worst episode in the history of Peep Show, maybe there is even worse ones coming? I try to block Series 9 out of my head as it was so bad. It's also weird how Dobby was the staying in type and Mark wanted more, but she's had a personality change and became the outgoing partying type. Like there was a complete shift in her one episode and everyone picks up on it and is weirded out. It doesn't feel like a natural change with with Sophie, where Mark liked the idea of her, but not the reality. I also do not buy the Jeremy being gay thing, he's dabbled with it in the past when on drugs or for money, but so has Super Hans. Just another really weird character shift that makes no sense and was just done to have some kind of plot in the final series.
couldn't agree more. I pretend series 9 doesn't exist.
Love that they finally have Jeremy explore his feelings about being with another man after them alluding to it through the whole show, but kinda hate the characters they bring in for this arc lol. Gregory’s accent is just awful 😂
Great ear. Jonathan Harden, who plays Gregory, is Irish. He's from Belfast which has a sort of mix between an Irish and Scottish accent.
I was wondering if the accent would get past you 😂 love how you caught it in a nanosecond
Gregory was voted the worst ever peep show character by a popular youtuber (stanland) who does video essays on everything peepshow
Also the worst according to the OG Peep Show essay YouTuber, Andrew (who has sadly this week deleted most of his channel)
Fun fact: the guy Jez is staring at on the coach is my best mate's brother! 😂
Whats the fun
Here's the blurb: 'From Croydon to the former Eastern Bloc, Super Hans lays it all out – bad trips, deep thoughts and absolute bangers. This is not a celebrity memoir. It's a love story, a travelogue, a chemical odyssey and, in many ways, a very long apology. Superhans has been a musician, a father, an addict, a romantic and, briefly, the sort of man people cross on the street to avoid. Now, he's bombing across Europe with his oldest mate, dodging trouble, bad memories, and the consequences of several truly world-class decisions, trying to find his way back to the only two people that ever really mattered. Moreish is funny, chaotic, heartfelt and completely off its nut: the (mostly true) story of how he lost the plot, kept the receipts and somehow lived to tell the tale.'
I’ve never ordered a book so fast
Super Hans has written an autobiography! Just out. It's called Moreish
Always wondered why they didn't just hire an American actor for Gregory.
The next episode is a top 5 for me, I’m looking forward to the reaction.
I love this one
You spotted it instantly. The guy playing Gregory is Irish and it's pretty universally accepted by fans that his American accent is dreadful. lol
Greg is in fact from Belfast. Good catch :) Actor is Jonathan Harden
I've watched Peep Show all the way through about 10 times and I always thought Jeremy going gay was too left feld and weird. But since watching it with you two, I now realize the whole show was building up to it 😂
The only weird thing about it was Jez freaking out about it. I always figured he was down for whatever and didn't think too much about it
I thought the guy with the accent sounded like a video game character. Then I find out he’s done voice work for several video games. He also has an American mother.
Jeremy, gone gay.
Gregory is indeed played by a bloke from Northern Ireland
The "American" guy is Jonathan Harden, he is from Belfast 😂 not sure why they made that decision.
Hold on? When did they watch car share?
They have only seen the dogging clip
Yoo you guys already reacted to Car share?
I think it was a clip
You called the Irish accent straight away!
That guys accent is always so distracting
Ergonomic management keyboard making a return right at the start ❤️
First time I've noticed myself, somewhere on my 74th watch through 😂
YES! Just woke up! Treated to the peeps
Often cited as the worst episode, but it still has some fun moments!
Mad. It's brilliant for Jez's speech alone.
I know it will never happen. But would be cool. If you watched Red Dwarf after this series.
Amazing suggestion
