This is the first of my 3 fav moments in the show, so glad I've seen your reaction to it ;-)
Raquel ruined the show.. Took all the fun out of it.
John Sullivan was Genius
I don’t tend to watch these with you but I thought I would today. I remember now how amusing this programme could be. It is loverly jubberly. We always watched it as a family🥹. I needed a bit of nostalgia today x
Just watching..just noticed the trouser press del took his shirt of was from the hotel Mirama..did he nick it when Rodney won the painting competition
that rug pool is amazing going from what is wrong why is she upset with him or the play or something. to the reveal is just amazing script writing. the fact that rodney and casandra was the basis of the emotion this epiosde the ups and down for it to switch to del and raquel.
Theres a really big sound delay for me-Mike and and Jess are fine but the show is seconds behind-anyone else having this issue?
Next weeks episode is the weakest IMO. Episode 4 & 6 are series sevens's best!
Bet you're glad you stuck with this show now ;)
people say rodney going out with the lords daughter was one of the worst episodes. i think this one was up there, felt like there wants really any plot that got going. saved it at the end though
The guy who comes in to the bar "jules" im sure he was married to cassandra in real life
He sells used cars now.
I Love Uncle Alberts war stories.
Another good watch. I've forgotten how annoying Rodney was from S6 onwards!
Need to add Goodnight Sweetheart for the next show
please please no haha
In case anyone is interested, the actual names of the Mexican and Eswatinian (Swazi) anthems are “The National Hymn of Mexico” and “God, the giver of blessings to the Swati people”
What a reaction guys! We're at the point in the show's life now where Only Fools and Horses went from a brilliant comedy to something the British public needed in their lives. These characters mean so much to so many people and it's been an absolute pleasure watching you two make the journey from "not quite getting it," to "being so invested in the characters." There's so much GOLD still to come so hopefully you stick with the show all the way to the end, because you won't regret it. Thanks for making Sundays that little bit better!
Jess’ reaction to the pregnancy reveal was up there with her reaction to Dawn walking back in at the end of The Office finale
What a lovely reaction
The last scenes incredible acting to be able to convey fear laughter shock and both to seem genuine and believable. Il always say david jason especially 1 of the best actors. Hes pukka
im loving watching this with you guys, im 36 and waiting until i have a family. John Sullivan will make you laugh and cry within minutes. its all coming together now. BEST SUNDAY
Seen these a million times being from England, yet this gives it’s a whole new spin on a pure classic!!
Growing up i never understood why she looked so scared with del on the bed, afraid of dels reaction. To me she should know del is a good man, so why so frightened to tell him. And then I got it, a few interactions she has said how all her previous relationships were horrible, how dels the only one who ever wanted to "keep her clothes on". Basically she knows how a man can change from nice to monster in an instant because shes been through it and probably been in this situation before and it got violent. So here when del is elated she says with joy "you're not angry?😃🥰". Well, that's how I like to think of it anyway, because she had no reason to think del would suddenly become another man unless shes been through it before and got hurt.
I also think she is worried about telling Del as it clearly wasn't planned - and it's another mouth to feed (they are always struggling as it is). Also given Del's relationship with his own father she might be uncertain at how he feels about becoming a dad.
I really hate watching this episode, cos I'm constantly calling out for Rodney not to make the stupid mistakes he makes, one after another throwing his cushy life away. But then that ending just absolutely redeems the episode completely, such a heart warming moment.
“How can I be angry, I’m gonna be a daddy.” 😭😭😭
We need a counter for how many times the Trotter family has made these two cry, and I don't blame them 🥹❤️
One of the best, most emotional reveals ever, saw it 'live' and it was amazing having watched it the show since the since the beginning.
just to let you guys know that little kid who took over became onto to be one of british soap icons
Del boy has always been about family, so having his own is the one thing he's wanted more then becoming a millionaire
Fantastic episode; minor quibble but I do think it was out of character for Alan to accept Rodney's resignation just like that. He seems to think very highly of his son in law.
I understand your misgivings as it did seem a bit of a quick resolution. One would think he would talk it over with Rodney, given that Rodney is his son in law. Maybe he likes him, but Rodney isn't the best employee. While he wouldn't have sacked him, he took this opportunity to install someone better at the job.
Rodney is going to be the happiest uncle in the world!!!!!!!!! I can't wait for this! Some quality episodes on the way, folks! 👹👹👹.... 😉!
I was just thinking about that before I read your comment 😭
Next Episode is one the best Episodes: Stage Fright.
This is the season where you see the pure genius of John Sullivans writing. The next episodes in the season are incredible from a story and comedy point.
"Aris" (arse) is one of the multi-layered Cockney rhyming slang words. Aris = Aristotle = bottle = bottle & glass (pronounced 'glarss') = arse.
Not seen this one before and really loved it. What a fabulous reveal right at the end. But was surprised Alan accepted Rodney's resignation so quickly - that was sad and a tad unlikely. Poor Rodders.
Seeing your tears of sadness flip to tears of joy in one scene ...what more can you say ...it's the genius of only fools 😊
Your reaction was just what I wanted to be just beautiful 🥹 ❤️
Your reaction to the reveal was as expected,, just perfect!! I need more. Please surprise us with an impromptu double episode one of the weeks. You know it makes sense!!
Seeing Jess cry made me cry lol I've seen that scene so many times and never teared up 😊.
Also like how u guys picked up on the always different sofa and tables. It’s coz of Dels wheeling and dealing always trading them in when he can to make money
I love how Jess knew right before Raquel said about being pregnant 🤣🤣
Thank God Mike and Jess persevered after that very scary "Let's Talk About Only Fools" post! With regards to next week's episode, perhaps we should lower our expectations after it didn't quite land with another reactor couple
I don’t think we ever need to talk about any episode until it happens. I was really heartened by Mike’s comment about not reading comments though, I hope he meant it.
Moments like this are what make you realise why people are so emotionally attached to the show. By this point you feel like you're watching people you know, so you care about them and you feel their joy and hate to see them go through pain. When people who have grown up with the show complain when first time viewers don't immediately fall in love with the show and declare it to be the greatest thing ever to grace the earth, they don't understand that they are looking back at the show through moments like this, which first time viewers don't yet have the benefit of. Funnily enough, David Mitchell wrote an interesting piece in his autobiography (recommended) about the scene where Del Boy falls through the bar. He responded to a fellow comedian who expressed disappointment at its popularity, dismissing it as a mindless bit of slapstick. Mitchell makes the point that the reason we find it so funny, is because it is happening to someone we feel we know.
Have you guys thought about watching the musical version of the entrance theme after this?
The what, pardon?
Would you guys react to Mr Bean? its a britsh sitcom 1 season.
Id say it’s a silent comedy
Omg that's Cassandras real life husband Jesse Birdsall playing the gay guy that got Del to feel his hands. 😳
No it's Paul Opacic, I can see the resemblance though
Only just noticed the trouser press in the bedroom is from the hotel Mirimar. 😂
You two are such a loving couple, I can only imagine what lovely parents you are, Mike, that was the reaction of a real man, a true husband and father, and Jess, a true soft hearted romantic like myself, bless you both. I loved this reaction, it took my mind off of my troubles for a little while there, so thank you. Looking forward to the rest. Happy sunday.
I’ve seen this 50 times, and it always bothered me that Albert was looking at the box saying he’d not heard half of the tunes. I always thought “how can he tell from looking at the box that he doesn’t recognise the tune?” It only struck me now that he would have had all day to press the button and hear the different ones.
That's kind of the joke really. Albert, the man who has apparently sailed around the world and never stops talking about it but doesn't recognise half the countries on the doorbell
lol your truly beginning to not just see but FEEL why OFAH is a national treasure here in england, the trotters are an extension of our own families, we watch emotionaly invested in there lives, cassandra and rodney are struggling, you feel bad, raquel and del are having a baby you cry happy tears, i still havnt watched another show that got me that emotionally involved, special show, its a true pleasure to be watching in with you guys and getting that first time feeling all over again, will be sad when it ends but we still have a great ride left to go :)
So weird, this episode aired just before I was born,Raquel was perfection and was basically my current age at that time 😅
I did not expect that twist at the end wow
aris = Aristole Aristole = bottle Bottle = bottle n’ glass Bottle n’ glass = arse
Aristotle
You forgot the outro again, Mike 😂
It’s the laughs, heartbreak and joy that make OFAH so special. The only other show that comes close for me Is ‘One Foot In the Grave’ which took up the reigns once this series ended.
Aah, I love seeing people react to this for the first time. It's so good and makes it all fresh again.
'Calm down you two' 😂. You nearly set me off there, hits differently watching this as a fully grown adult 🥲
EXPECTED and LOVED every part of Jess's reaction to this..... best ever. Even Mike reacted brilliantly.... that was awesome to see. Thanks O.F.A.H friends.....
they don’t even realise they’re about to hit six straight episodes of pure gold.
You'll know it's me, I'll play Mexico Forever on the front door
Jess’ reaction to a lot of moments across this and the Ricky Gervais shows are as heartwarming as they come. I have seen this show hundreds of times as it’s my favourite but seeing someone else fall in love with it is so awesome to see.
💯 Jess is amazing . They both are .
Seeing how much this incredible show has grown on Mike is truly enjoyable.
💯
perfect casting, brilliant writing, beautifully acted. This entire show is real work of art.
This is why you two are the best. Ive never seen Jess look so happy for a character. Great reaction from you both
I just love how invested they are in the characters they watch. I know they struggled with OFAH in the beginning, but I'm glad they stuck with it and realise why it's so beloved.
watching Jess made me cry.
Good morning, New to Patreon, long time You Tube viewer.
Welcome, Janet 💚💜
In 2023 David Jason (Del Boy) in real life discovered through a DNA match he HAD A DAUGHTER AGED 52 he didn't ever know of. Imagine that. When Raquel asks Del if hes angry , she's shes pregnant? David Jason breaks character saying "Angry??... Im gonna be a dahhhhhhhddy.." Then he cried. This show man. Emotion, comedy and drama. Not laughs aloud every30 seconds, its like they are real. From 1987 onwards, it's not a laugh-a-minute sitcom, its a comedy drama with emotion and amazing twists.
it really is like they’re real
Ive just checked episodr titles and excited for next weeks episode. Its in my top 10 but never seen anyone else as hyped as me about it
I'll join you there Emma. Next weeks episode is in my top 3
Love it 🥰
Did you forget the outro again 😂😂 Great reaction from the both of you as always , truly heartfelt at the end . What a special moment ❤️
No, Mike quite rightly said they wouldn’t play it due to what had just been dropped.
It's moments like the reveal that shows how good the writing was. Ofah has been a British institution for generations because of how it relates and the emotions that we all experience - just amazing
Cassandra is so posh. I've never ever heard a working class adult call their parents mummy and daddy
Maybe they sent her to a posh school when he became successful 🤷♂️
Can’t wait until next week one of my favourites
Always a good start to Sunday morning's. As always a great reaction.
I love how when I watch your reactions to this show it feels like I'm watching it live with a group of other people, including the other Patrons. I live for these Sunday mornings.
Same ❤️
How did that make me cry when I’ve seen it so many times before 🤦🏻♂️😂😭
Same here 😂
. iv waited a year for next weeks episode .
I’m on holiday next week 😖
As much as John Sullivan wanted the characters to grow and develop, he admitted that a lot of the original humour that made the show became trickier to do once Rodney moved out. Which is why we ended getting all these incidents like Rodney’s marriage troubles and now him losing his job so that Sullivan could get Rodney back to staying in the flat and back with Del.
Don't think there's a better show for a Sunday
Is that the trouser press from the hotel Rodney won the art prize to go to in Dels room??
Yes it is.
so impatient that I watched the previous reaction for the 2nd time waiting for this one. love it. Thanks guys
Just about t watch this. Mike is the most under pressure reactor ever, its not fair on him to have so much weirdo obsessives attack him for not loving their favourite show. We are all different and thats life. I respect his opinion more because hes honest. Only Fools is my favourite show ever. But its ok that other people have favourite shows. My sister, went to Margate for The Jolly Boys Outing Reunion with some of the cast recently. Anyway, Right now im gonna watch the reaction. Peace and love people. Authenticity is value for money. Cant wait to see this one!
What prompted that?
👍👍
Funny you point that out, Jess. John Sullivan always said the Trotters flat was the sort of place you could say I like that table and Del would sell it there and then! That's why the furniture always changed.
John Sullivan was a genius. It seems so cruel that he died so young. He gave us so much great entertainment!
yesss! I always have to go to work shortly after the upload, so im always waiting for it asap, get it done before work :D <3
7 am on a Sunday, Cushty
I've stayed up all night after the boxing waiting for 7am 'OFAH' best day of the week🥊🍻
Best time of the week!
The Cassandra Rodney storyline needs to be resolved one way or the other.
Lovely jubbly
Yes, here we go 😊
