Friday Night Dinner - S6E6 'The Females'
What a show! To be as extremely farcical as it is at times, it was still able to affect us this much.

All good things must come to an end.
First time for me watching this, watched the whole lot with you guys as the episodes dropped. Thank you so much for a great ride, absolutely amazing.
Aww, I love crying Mike. 😘
Brilliant show. Stupid at times, hilarious at times. My favourite moment of the show as a whole is the Christmas Show where Jim sings Silent Night. Lovely to watch the show with you both
Friday night dinner is one of my all time favs, Martin is an all time classic character. Derry girls would be a perfect show for you guys, so funny yet so emotional.
I never saw this the first time around, just one of those I missed. Really enjoyed it and of course watching it with you guys. What show is replacing this one? hmm 🤔
I think they're reacting to the documentary tomorrow & then I presume I’m Alan Partridge will start next Friday :D
Amazing episode, I had never seen this show before watching along with you all. Love it…. Also, I seen Miike Snow, the band who sing the theme song live in Glasgow in a tiny venue, it was like a rave. 😛
Will you be watching the documentary
You guys should watch Green Wing for a very simiar cast of characters (and much more madness).
Well there is one positive thing about this ending, we get to see you guys discover another new show and enjoy another journey with you!
My parents had been on at me for months to watch this show. I came on the journey with you both - amazing ! Thank u guys x
Shit on it was the perfect line to end it on 🤍 Also when Tom was expecting his first child with his Mrs he uploaded a picture of the scan to social media simply with the title “Hello Bambino” beaut
I feel like I’m in the minority here but I never liked the Jim character. I just found it annoying every time he was on screen. Good series in general though
You found Jim more annoying than Johnny?
Ending it with Modjo's "Lady (Hear Me Tonight)" into that remix of Miike Snow's "Animal" as the theme song was a great touch. I'm glad the series ended on an episode like this, that has a fair blend of outlandishness and grounding in some realism. It hit the right points for me.
Friday morning we're my favourite waiting to watch this programme! So sad what happened to Paul!
Never been more sad because of a show ending on like my 300th rewatch. Genuinely sad for you guys finishing it for the first time 😂 It’s been amazing x
Mike made me cry at the end there wow 🥹 I have 2 boys also they’re still really young and it’s true, watching them shed versions of themselves and knowing what’s to come… it’s special and brutal all at the same time!
I don't know what I'll do when you finish peep show. I'm not a fan of father ted, still game, gavin and stacey, black adder or most things coming up. Hoping for Derek and car share soon 🙏
They dropped father ted. I never saw Gavin and Stacey before and I'm quite enjoying it, try to keep an open mind even on shows you may have previously skipped.
Great show! One thing that worries me is if Mike and Jess get this emotional about this show then Derek is going to wreck them 🤣
I loved re-watching this with you guys! looking forward to seeing the documentary, I've never seen it before so will be cool to watch it with you 🥰
Love this show and most of this episode but the ending felt to Disney esc and cringe, like both the girls being pregnant at the same time after not being with the guys that long... Could've left that out 😅
thank fuck this one’s over. Also devastated to see the final bracket of the poll 🤣 Still hanging in there for Only Fools and Peep Show.
womp womp
It’s a great show and I’ve sincerely enjoyed watching your reactions to it. I’m so pleased you enjoyed it thanks so much, put a reminder in your calendar for 18 months to 2 years and watch it again you’ll not regret it!
God I’m gonna miss this show!! I’m soo sad rip paul Ritter you amazing human being
Hey Mike, you’re a really good bloke. I feel I resonate a lot with you. I’ve just had my first born. He’s 2 months old. You and I are both fortunate to have great women as their mums. Cheers mate, cheers Jess.
punk rockers
It all takes me back to the insanity of Basil Fawlty with the Kippers or the Rat Poison on the veal. You just want to slap these to men into normality and fess up - but no, let's take the mad-man way of hiding the truth =D
I don’t think it was about stealing their thunder about the pregnancy, they both said it to make Jackie happy after the disaster meal
I've just noticed they never have gravy!!??
It’s usually there in a gravy boat but they don’t use it. Heathens.
I LOVE your authentic reaction to the show finishing and the emotions it gave you. I have my own memories attached to this show. I’d know about it for a while but the first time I actually watched it was in hospital after I’d suffered a late miscarriage. My husband was away with work and I had to be kept in for a few nights for various reasons and I felt so alone and so scared. And an episode was on the tv in my room and I watched it and it just took me away for half an hour, occupied my brain from the trauma I’d encountered. I then watched the whole first series all through that first night on my phone. It’s crazy how these shows stick with you.
I'm not sure if you're going to be reacting to Blackadder, i think it's currently second in the polls but with this and Father Ted finished i'm guessing there's two open spots. But, if you are watching it, start with series two, the first series is literally a different show, characters are entirely the opposite of how they are from series 2 onwards and, imho, series 1 really isn't that funny and i think it would give you a bad impression of what the show becomes.
Derek got the most votes and will replace Father Ted. They’d already decided that they’ll be watching I’m Alan Partridge when the next show ends so that will replace this.
Just saying.... Mike and Jess were absolutely made for each other!! ❤️❤️
💯 ❤️
Does this chanel not have a message bit where everyone can chat
It did, but people couldn’t behave 😂 Trust me, as one of the mods, I would be woken up by messages asking me to come and sort people out in the chat at like 6am, and that happened more than once!
a great send off. I was a bit miffed at the time about it but the scene wwith jackie outside the door saying well done to herself is so well done
What a shit ending that was. Worst episode of the whole show.
Genuinely interested and not being confrontational: what ending would you have given it?
I genuinely will miss MR.Morris and him the most 🤣 rip wilson -kaz ❤️
Didn’t expect to cry again but here we are 😭🥹
I was a waiter for a bit in my teens, one day our cook got fired and in retaliation he smashed wine glasses all over the kitchen. We had to close down all night to clean everything. Then for the whole shift we were hearing from our manager that if one speck is missed, we get sued into oblivion. (He wasn't helping at all).
Its so sad this show ended but I guess 6 seasons is more than enough for most sitcoms. It's truly one of a kind. and RIP to Paul Ritter. The show wouldnt have been the same without him playing Martin for sure.
What a journey it's been watching this with you... gonna miss it! Loved every reaction 😊 Excited for whatever's coming up next 🙌
Never seen this episode before. Great ending. Looking forward to seeing the documentary next time with you. Thanks for loving it so much.
Great final episode. Fantastic show. Thank you for sharing.
Great show, what replaces it now?
I'm so glad the last word went to Martin. Very bittersweet and very difficult to shake off the knowledge of what happened to him while watching these last episodes. I hate the fact he's gone, but love what he's left us.
The last episode and neither of you said "shit on it", disappointing :D
🥲
Emotions
It’s a great ending and lovely for you two to think how it might go when your kids introduce their partners. (Ah!) Just remember there’s a whole spectrum of possibilities. They might turn out like Jez and Mark.
Now they have to watch the American remake. Actually on second thoughts
I don't think I've ever cried that a show has ended. Especially a comedy. Maybe that says more about me.
Have you watched the good place?
The fact i’ve rewatched this show about 15 times and every time i get that feeling when it ends 😔. Time for the documentary now! 😂
Will you guys be watching the 10 year anniversary special of all the bloopers and behind the scenes, ‘10 years and a lovely bit of squirrel’ ?
Genuine emotion........enough said ❤️❤️❤️
Love this show and when the intro music started playing for them to dance to, it got me. When it first aired I thought to myself “this is the end” wish it wasn’t. What a show!
This has been my fave show out of all i've watched with you..... its been so funny. Thanks Mike and Jess
I’ll miss Jim the most 😭
I don't believe this was intended to be the last series but it luckily still felt like a fitting finale.
I think Robert Popper genuinely didn't know whether they were going to do anymore so wrote this as a finale just in case and then Paul Ritter passing away made the decision for him.
Time for 10 years & a lovely bit of squirrel next. Almost time to say the final goodbye.
I know there wouldn't be a show if everything made sense, but I'm always pulling my hair out when Martin insists on keeping a lie going, when it would be so much simpler just to come clean lol 😂😡😂😡😂
Oil on Jackies carpet, wrong date for the surprise party, Martin can't stop doing a Martin that's why he's the GOAT 😂
This show got me through a lot of tough times, as I'm sure it did with lots who've watched it. Was a pleasure watching it again with your reactions, thanks as always Mike and Jess ❤️
Same I was in a job I detested and going through a super hard period in my life, every morning i would watch an episode of this with my breakfast and it would uplift me to get me through my day x
Great show. Glad you have stopped father ted . Any hints on whats replacing it
Derek won the poll. I’m guessing it will start tomorrow unless they have other plans.
Goodbye bambinos 😢
What a great ending and sad the show is over now been a journey. Looking forward to seeing the documentary next week for the first time. The show is definitely rewatchable I often find myself rewatching your reactions to this as its such a great show.
Friday Night Dinner: 10 Years and a Lovely Bit of Squirrel?
The last time we will see Jess, do the Jackie pose 💁♀️
Ah guys! You're too cute! I love how attached you get to these shows.
I cannot even tell you how excited I am to watch you watch Derek.
I've said it before, and I'll say it again: democracy simply doesn't work
I hate how little they eat, makes me look like a fat animal lol and put some gravy on!!!!!
I feel like they do talk about this in the doc!
i spy another poll
I think they might go with the top 2 from the current poll. There are 2 clear of the others. Derek and Black Adder. Job done.
Did you guys ever see Tamsin Greig (Jackie) in Episodes? I think it was fairly big in the US and the UK.

The last episode 😭
What's your favourite moment? Martin : "fine piece of ass" Jim: "so much blood" What's yours? Keep em coming....
It's "What's yours? Keep em coming... OVER!!!" 📞😡 In all seriousness, it's tough to pick favourites but Jim: "little talking man 😱😰😭!!" Martin: "I now pronounce you man and wife ho ho! 🕺🎵" Jonny stood on the chair when Tony comes over and him making ip a song Jonny ripping Adams trousers off outside Grandma's house. And of course, we can't forget Martin's medical report speech at his uncle Saul Dav- I mean RICHARD Epstein's funeral. Whole thing was class 😂😂😂😂
Aah the last one... Shalom, group.
I think this is probably my favourite episode. Some great Martin lines
Morning guys
Morning Alex. Shalommm
