"Let the thicket surround you,"

The idea of a man's identity becoming lost in his beard was borrowed from Patton Oswalt's first book "Zombie Spaceship Wasteland," specifically his short story "Peter Runfola" about his uncle. I always think about "retreating into the thicket" when I grow my hair out and wonder about if I'd ever just decide to freak out and go live in the woods alone. Maybe close to a 7-11. None of that will ever happen to me, but one wonders how you'd deal if you were in that situation.

When you got nothing else to worry about, at least. Such is an anxious mind.

I grew my beard out but people looked at me with such sad faces, if I stood in front of the grocery store too long, sometimes they would try to give me canned food, I'm like man I'm just waiting for my ride..
