UNCUT - The Expanse Season 5 Episode 5

I think of The Expanse as one of the best science fiction shows ever made. I read the books and watched the seasons more than once. I liked their Star Trek reviews so I got on Patreon to see their Expanse watch even though I am months late for this Uncut watch. Yea season 4 sucks (the book does not) but I was sure they'd like season 5. Hunt for Red October is a great movie. I'm seeing we have different tastes. I love character moments, but also love action, and love hard sci fi, and love realistic system politics, and love paying attention to the little things so I can remember them and make connections later. Continuing to watch their Uncuts is beginning to hurt, like "hey... this thing you love...? well how about this!?" Yellow wetness starts running off my head. Oh well.
At least we're starting to see some small signs that Filip may not be completely lost, and the one older guy at least seems to be looking out for Naomi. I really want that one belter woman who keeps taunting her to get her teeth punched in though. I figured you'd enjoy Amos story this season. I do as well. It's cool to see a ground level account of Earth going to shit after the meteor impacts, and Amos is probably the only member of the crew with the instincts and skills to navigate that situation. And yes, tossing the big dude down the elevator shaft was epic. You'd figure if Bobbie and Alex were going to chase down terrorists and Martian navy traitors in a civilian hot rod, they'd install some sort of countermeasures to be on the safe side. I know Expanse isn't exactly your guys cup of tea, but 11 more episodes and you can say you've finished a non trek show(that wasn't 1 season). Almost in the home stretch.
Season 4 was a full season drop Season 5 released first 3 then week to week Season 6 was week to week

That's hilarious. That scene always gave me anxiety with how close Amos was to the edge.
Hunt For Red October mentioned is a solid reminder of how divergent preferences can be. It's easily in my top 20 movies ever, even though in many ways it is as you describe. Well-acted characters talking about what's happening or what their plans are. For whatever reason, that grabs the hell out of my attention. I wonder why? Same in the Expanse. Amos is awesome, but there's no plotline that I lose interest in, they're all variations of pizza. One has spicy sausage and garlic (Amos), Holden would be safe pepperoni and bell peppers. Alex and Bobby, sort of mixed with Avasarala, hmm. Thin-crust NYC style slice. Naomi and Marcos are the wildcards, Hawaiian with pineapple. But there's no bad pizza!
As a guy who tried anchovies on pizza once, I have to disagree
When the OPA woman in custody stops Holden just to say "See you when you get back," she knows about the booby trap on the Rocinante and was saying it ironically, assuming he was about to die.
The Augustín Gamarra was the ship that Naomi helped destroy when she was still with Marco and his terrorist group, that killed 200+ people. She brings this up earlier in the series, talking about why she left her son.
I’m expecting a kick-ass Amos edit once you’ve finished The Expanse, I swear he has the best kills in any show ever made. This one has to be my favourite!
This show seems to be picking up some steam
Hey-o!!!
