Quark really is the GOAT. Now we can say he was in all three 90's Trek series.
I hope you like- honestly, it's my least favorite of the Trek series. But its generally really well written and the characters are mostly interesting
I've been a Trekkie from birth and Voyager is such a strange and wonderful series to me. It's not even close to being the best in my opinion, but for a long time it was my favorite. I have rewatched this series at least 20 times. SO excited to watch it again with you guys. Very interested to see what you think of the characters and storyline.
I have ideas which characters you will like early. Sad it will be a few days before we see it with you but excited for it to come
Good luck. lol. My least favorite Star Trek series. I will say, it's got a good pilot and the first season is very decent. Just my opinion but as TNG and DS9 get better, I feel Voyager gets worse with each passing season. Beyond that, I cannot of course give any specific reasons why this show didn't grab me, but I will have a LOT to say at the appropriate times. This isn't to say there's not S-Tier episodes. There are. But I feel they are much fewer and farther between than both TNG and DS9. Truthfully, I have NO idea how you'll feel about Voyager, but I will watch the series with you. Not for the show, but to see your reactions. Both good and bad. That, and I AM paying money :P
I’m a TNG girl but I think Voyager is the most rewatchable Trek series and I think it’s got a strong cast with great chemistry. I have to say, watching it as a little girl, I was particularly influenced by all the strong female characters, especially Captain Janeway. She’s such an incredible example of the strengths of leadership by women. And none of the men around her are diminished to prop her up. Also, of all the Trek captains, she’s really got the mind and heart of a scientist and explorer. It’s fun to see her get excited about whats out there in the Delta Quadrant. She’s such a breath of fresh air. I know voyager has its share of haters but I hope you go into it with an open mind. I think it’s so original and thought provoking. It has some of the best medical episodes and alien enemies in the whole Trek verse!
like TNG and DS9 before it - it gets better with each season.
The pilot isn't the worst thing ever, but it sets up the same premise that we'd already seen in other Trek episodes. The difference is that this time, we're supposed to accept the tired "starship lost in an unknown region of space" logline as the conceit for a series. When we've already seen the two most powerful beings in TNG, namely Q and Wesley Crusher, solve problems like this over the course of 50 minutes, it's not the most compelling hook for a show.
I dont think the premise is the problem. If we didnt have a GLB it could be avery interesting premise
The best opening credits and accompanying music of any Star Trek series ever!
SNW also did pretty well with that.
Oh, Voyager. It has some All-Trek "Hall of Fame" level characters and episodes, but consistency is not one of its strengths. If ever there was a show than did not maximize its premise, it's this. That being said, I still think the peaks are worth the slogs, and it's still very well produced and a welcome entry into the "Star Trek" pantheon. While not as iconic as TOS/TNG, for my money VOY has the best intro credits of all the Trek shows. Enjoy the journey, guys!
i havent watched this much since it aired. ready to follow along
Arguably the best trek pilot.
I've been a Trekkie since TNG was new, but Voyager is "my" Trek series. It was the first show I could really sit down and watch every episode, because I had my own TV by then, and thus the Power of the Remote.
Yeah. I think the people who really like Voyager are ther ones who were first really exposed to trek by it
Quark, remember that name. Believe it or not he continues to be a main character on DS9. That's what Voyager was hinting at by including him in the pilot.
DS9 is my favorite series up there with TNG but I think Voyager has the better pilot and overall first season. Looking forward to going into another Trek series with you! Hope you enjoyed it!
Harry Kim…remember that name.
I missed the Patron Takes for this one, but I just wanted to say how hilarious it was on the DS9 Pre-series discussion (go back and watch it), Alex was trying to blindly guess what DS9 would be about and he actually describes the plot of Voyager 😂. I’m sure many of us had a good laugh.
Son of a BITCH, I just subscribed yesterday and missed out on this awesome deal. Oh well, still worth every penny. Thanks for allowing us to join you on this journey, guys!
Hah, same, I subbed last week to be ready for Voyager to come up. :D
I remember when DS9 and Voyager first aired how excited I was just to see what the new ships looked like!
Good luck fellas! Set a course for home!
I hope the box doesn't have spoilers on it. Honestly even seeing the ship is more then I'd have shown - but its impossible to avoid!
There’s a certain character on the back of the box… 😞
EXCITED!!!
my favourite hero ship
Remember this there is the right way the wrong way and the JANEWAY
Clever 😊
The third of holy ST trinity.
Even though it’s not my favorite, I think Voyager has the best season 1 of any of the 80s/90s/00s treks as the writers I think did a really good job with the world building. I predict you guys will like it
Voyager contrasts so nicely with DS9. When DS9 gets heavy, VOY stays lighter but still the a lot of hard-hitting great optimistic ethics-based stories of the greatest Trek. DS9 might be the best series, but VOY is my favorite!
yeah i say it goes back to the TNG format with it twist setting
Fine you suckered me in to joining the Patreon. ;) Hope you’re proud of yourselves (and your great content). Please read that first in a sarcastic tone and then read it again in a genuine tone. Mumble mumble stupid amazing content creator jerks.
Welcome! Please read or hear anything we ever write or say the same way.
Interested to see how you’re going to react to this. BTW, I just saw your reaction to DS9’s The Search Part 2, and I loved the teaser you had at the beginning to promote your Voyager reaction; especially the closeup on Captain Janeway.
Yay!!! My 2nd favorite series 😊
I'm not sure if you'll love it or not, but Voyager is my personal favourite! Been waiting for this ever since you were still watching TOS!
IMO, Voyager has the best opening title sequence and theme in all of Trek. And such a huge contrast with DS9's rather bland opening.
Been waiting a long time for this,. Gonna be the best reactions yet for sure.
It’s been a long road…
DS9 is my absolute favorite but I do enjoy Voyager on the side. It's like good French fries alongside your gourmet burger
So excited! Is a predictions pre-review video coming?
Yes
Voyager is my favourite! (not the best but my favourite) it's definitely a feel good homely show. I'm definitely going to re-watch along with you guys! Enjoy!
I personally haven't done a complete watchthrough of Voyager in probably 15 years. So this will be fun. Maybe I'll have forgotten enough, and what I remember will be newly interpreted through your takes. That was certainly the case with much of TNG. There were quite a few episodes that I had previously considered forgettable at best that I now have a much greater appreciation of. Maybe you can doctor up Voyager a bit.
I see what you did there. Maybe
One of my favorites!
This is where Voyager starts.
I just say "VOY". It saves a lot of time.
Can’t wait for that reference to make sense
I just started (yet another) Voyager rewatch to precook my Patron takes. It's the only way - the Janeway. Can't wait guys!
I’ll be watching I think voyager is the weakest classic series. I have only seen most once and barely remember them. There’s some very good eps, but some real stinkers too
I think the only way I can get through watching Voyager with TA is with a strong drink in hand and through the TA YouTube trimmed down versions. Patreon is for DS9 and Trek films for me. Hot garbage can only be ingested in much smaller amounts LOL
🖖 Let's see what's out there... engage! Wait, wrong show.
I'm looking forward to you watching Voyager because all the S Tier DS9 episodes will look like S+ Tier as you skip back and forth between the two shows.... Seriously though Voyager is OK...its just that DS9 ranks up with Breaking Bad/Better Call Saul/Mad Men/Sopranos as the best TV shows in history so its hard to compete. I think you will love some aspects of this show and hate others...
Let's Go! I'm actually really excited. I will say again, Voyager is my favorite Star Trek series and I hope you guys like it at least a little bit. Unfortunately I don't think either of you would like it more than DS9 or maybe even TNG like I do but I still hope you both like it.
Voyager hype. It's good it's bad, it's mid, it's amazing. Enjoy.
As the series that hooked me on Trek and still ranks as my personal favorite, I've been looking forward to Voyager on TA for years. Glad to see I'm not the only one. Janeway is also my favorite captain and it all comes down to Kate Mulgrew's performance.
the actors are good with what they're given but lots of behind the scenes drama
Looking forward to another year of great discussion and analysis!
We are going to have a few wonderful years of DS9 / Voyager Life's good 🖖
Funny, from the thumbnail I thought they were holding a VHS copy of Voyager based on the dimensions. 🤨 Only once I hit play could I see the depth of the box and that it was the box set. 🤦♂️
Voyager is the only show I havent watched all the episodes straight through, I am going to watch it with you guys. I have seen enough to know the whole plot, but I haven't seen every individual episode. So LET'S DO THIS!
*ilia points* “V’GER!” “No, VGER!” *ilia visible confusion*
Ooooooo enjoy guys!
Let's Fucking Go!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! 🖖🖖🖖🖖🖖🖖🖖
So excited for you guys! Others who love Voyager, we Voyager fans need a good nickname
It begins… enjoy my friends
U got tribbles
VGER, huh. I see what you did there. Nice.
